Even if you're not vegetarian, you have to go. Try the mango salad and avocado curry. Also, the lunch buffet is there every day except Sunday and is a great value.

One of the city's oldest coffee shops, it's in a comfy brick building with high ceilings. The baristas know what they're doing and the tea is excellent. A good place to read or meet up with someone.

Suzzallo is possibly the most beautiful building in the city. The reading room on the 3rd floor has super-tall ceilings and the whole building is Gothic style. There's a cafe inside too.

The official bookstore for the University of Washington. Textbooks and supplies are in the basement, UW sports gear and regular books are upstairs. If you want a Huskies shirt, this is the place!

Used books. Seattle's best book store, in my opinion. It's not huge, but I can easily spend an hour browsing. Get a book and go around the corner to Allegro to read it.
