Everything Else

I love the activity. Plenty of restaurants, interesting shops, movie theater, often live entertainment on the outdoor stage, always kids playing in the water fountains, and people just hanging out.

Parks & Nature

The main gardens are free to the public (for now, anyway!) and The Japanese Gardens are well worth the $5 admission. All the gardens are lovely year round. What a beautiful place to get your steps in! Please not: you are welcome to bring a blanket and picnic, however, sport equipment (balls, frisbees, etc. are not allowed.

Arts & Culture

Fort Worth is lucky to have a museum for everyone! The Kimball, The Amon Carter, The Modern, The Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame, and the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History (w/ Omni Imax and Planetarium). FWMSH is open everyday day (except major holidays). Check on open hours for your museum of choice, as many are closed on Mondays. P.S.- FWMSH offers reciprocal membership benefits for some Children's and/or Science Museums in other cities & states. If you have a museum membership elsewhere- it never hurts to ask!!

Shopping

We are a book loving family! We started taking our son to Monkey and Dog when he was little, and I spread the word to all of my friends. What started as a small and cozy children's bookstore inside a wonderful gourmet to go & catering establishment, has recently moved to its own bigger space. Not only that- they are expanding to include grown up books as well (hooray!). If you like to hold a real book in your hands, and turn real pages, and talk to someone who loves, loves, loves books- visit Monkey & Dog. It is a great place to find classic and unique children's books, toys & games, and all things reading related.
