The meadows are gardens and play grounds alongside the river Tavy, local swimming pool and gym , tennis courts and skate park all within walking distance of the town centre. Join the Drake's Trail off road cycle route which takes you all the way to Plymouth.

Closest airports are Exeter and Newquay. Plymouth is full of history:- walk the Hoe and the Barbican, see where Drake played his bowls before defeating the Armada, visit the steps where the Mayflower left for the new world 400 years ago and landed on Plymouth Rock USA. Plymouth is a working Naval Port with Devonport Dockyard at its centre. Boat trips to see the warships and dockyard or book a Mackerel fishing trip or paddle board lessons. If you prefer to look at marine life , why not visit the national Marine Aquarium next to the fish market. Many Marinas in and around Plymouth Sound welcome Sailing and Motor Yachts from around the world. It also is part of the southwest fishing industry and catches are landed daily to the Plymouth Fish Market situated at Sutton Harbour. Plymouth is sandwiched between two rivers, the Plym to the East and The Tamar to the west, the border and gateway to Cornwall. Beaches are nearby in both Devon and Cornwall and Bovisand boasts the south west dive centre. For sportsmen and women Plymouth Life centre and Central Park offer Swimming and Diving Pools ( where Olympic diver Tom Daley began his career ) Pitch and putt golf, skate park, table tennis, roller discos, all this can be found next Plymouths home football ground of Argyle. For the golfers among you a number of courses are nearby :- Boringdon, Elfordleigh, Staddon Heights around Plymouth outskirts and China Fleet and St Mellion just into Cornwall. Take the passenger ferry to Mount Edgecombe park, walk through acres of grounds overlooking the Tamar and the Sound. Lookout for deer on your walk. Google Mount Edgecombe to see what events will be happening through out the year. Cafes available, picnic spots why not hire a Segway.
