Great for breakfast. Nothing fancy but some interesting menu items. Fresh OJ. It's just a couple of blocks away. The outside patio is dog friendly.

Hugo Ortega is a James Beard Award winner. Hugo's is one of several of his restaurants in Houston. The margaritas are the best in town.
If you are dining by yourself, just go sit at the bar. You will make friends quickly.

Great little lunch counter...almost like going to Grandma's for a sandwich. Nothing fancy at all. Good cookies and great cakes.

If you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner...this is your place. The food is fabulous. The chef is often on the floor visiting. He will gladly make alterations.
The outdoor patio is dog-friendly.
They have a very nice selection of wine for carry out.

St. Arnold's is one of the first local craft breweries. The founder was a student at Rice University when he got started. The business has flourished and now has a very large tasting room, sponsors lots of local events and has a great pet-friendly outdoor pavilion.
