You will find all the main shops along the Corso leading to Manly Beach, newsagency, playground for kids and of course the famous surf beach where you can learn to surf or hire an umbrella and relax and watch the world go by. Also try exploring around Sydney Road (fresh markets on Wednesdays) and Rialto square off the Corso or Pittwater Rd for more shops. Please always remember to swim between the red and yellow flags as the surf can be dangerous and the local lifesavers watch swimmers between the flags.

This is the best look out to see the expanse of the Harbour and CBD across to Bondi and South head where the cruise ships come in and out. There is a lovely café near the carpark and several nice bush walks around this area.

Keep heading north from Manly and you will reach Shelley beach which is calm and a great spot for snorkelling (the water there is a marine reserve with lots of fish).

Collins Beach
A little out of Manly is an amazing private beach that is great for relaxing discovering waterfalls and waiting for the ice cream boat to approach but not easy walk for the less able as it does have quite a few stair down). Bush track accessible from Stuart St in Manly. It is best to drive there to Stuart street or catch the Hop, Skip & Jump bus from Manly.
Only Accessible by Water – Hire a kayak or paddle board from the wharf and take a picnic organised through Manly Kayak centre!

St Patrick’s Estate is a site of exceptional historical and cultural significance – a Manly landmark Established as the first National Catholic Seminary in Australia in 1889, St Patrick’s College and Archbishop’s Residence are legacies of a unique time in the growth and development of the Catholic Church in Australia. The former College is now occupied by the International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS). The pathway and the Estate is now open to the public (during daylight hours). You could combine this on your walk up at North Head.

Ferry from Manly to Circular Quay (CBD): The regular ferry takes 30mins and the Manly Fast Ferry 20mins. In off-peak times, the Manly Fast Ferry is only a small amount more but has a bar on board so you can enjoy a beer in the sun!
Ferry elsewhere: Manly Fast Ferry also offers services to eastern suburbs eg. Watson’s Bay (great pub and place to grab fish and chips) and now has a ferry to Barangaroo (new business, restaurant and shopping district). Please check timetables as Watson’s Bay for examples is only on the weekends
