We are very lucky to have such a quality Thai restaurant in such a small town. The restaurant itself isn't much to look at, but they have great sweat tea and their food is fantastic.

Good luck trying to get a table in this restaurant on Sundays when church lets out! As a local, you can't go here without seeing someone you know. They have all of the typical Mexican favorites and they also have healthy offerings that they concocted in partnership with a local gym.

If you aren't from the south, you must go to Bojangles and get some chicken and biscuits. Get a Cajun Fillet Biscuit if you want both at once! I personally love the sausage biscuits.

If you happen to be passing through Shelby on your way to or from town, you MUST stop at Bridges BBQ. It's an icon and is well known in the BBQ community.

Giardini's is about 15 minutes down the road on 108 and it is well worth the drive! Excellent seasonal Italian food. Folks who come to the area from all over the world visit Giardini's.

The Twisted Pear now has a location in Rutherfordton also, but I think more people go to the one in Forest City. It's part beer store, part bar. They often have live music and their schedule of events is easily found on Facebook.

This is one bare bones theater that needs work, but we are lucky to have it. They sell the good stuff like Twizzlers and offer Coke products. They get all of the latest movies so though it may look like a bargain basement theater, it's actually legit.

This is the nicer theater around. If you have an AMC account, you get a discount on movies shown on Tuesdays. It's 30-40 minutes away, but it's a great place to go.

DO NOT GO TO WALMART. Just save yourself the frustration. There is a Target in Spartanburg and on the outskirts of town in Asheville. Just go there and you will be much happier.
