One of the most authentic eatery in the city. A kind of simple place where you can meet a taxi driver, word famous jazz musician, a prime minister or/and local seniors. Perfect for getting a touchy feeling and window shopping of memories. Do not tell other tourists - it is our secret.

Bock Bisztró does not need a good PR, but I have to confess, it is the best - despite not the cheapest option.

A number one place if you stay at my place. Riso is a decent place to have a pizza or a risotto just at the foot of the Buda castle. Be prepared appr. half price than 100 meters above in the Castle, and for same or maybe even better service. Good selection of vines. If you prefer to eat at home, you can take away your box. (Please then place into a selective container.)

Back to the '70-s Hungary. Incredible cheap, and of course probably not the best meal in town, but not the worst one too. Ladies behind of the counter are a part of the original vintage-interior.
"Pajtás" was the word for the pioneer fellows in the last century regime in Hungary.

A French small-table place run by a Hungarian "inner immigrant" entellectüel family. The food is sophisticated, with some real French touch. Highly recommended. The family of Miklos (my friend) also holds homestay-dinners for selected special guests. If interested to be one of them, ask at the desk or let me know.

We loved so much the dingy place for years of our younghood. Now it is a comb-haired swardy city park, but it's location is unbeatable. Also good for dining all day.

There is always something really cool temporary exhibition (recently is a Modigliani) and the view from the main entrance terrace is just magnificent. Best in town.

My personal favorite. One of the most cosmopolitan places in town. There is a comfy and cheap coffee shop, you can eat a daily mennü and you can join for a dance workshop or a yoga class. A truly independent public contemporary art and leisure space. You can check it out from 10AM to 22-23PM.
