Guidebook for The Guesthouse & Santa Fe

Welcome Letter Guesthouse

Welcome to Santa Fe! Dear Sandra & Guest: Welcome to the guesthouse! I am glad you are here and hope that you enjoy your time in the ‘City Different’. This is a very special town and it is filled with world class art, dining, and outdoor adventure. A bit about your host- My husband and I moved to Santa Fe permanently in 2016 when we both retired. Steve was a police chief, and I worked as a director within the Judicial Branch. As a native New Mexican I have always taken many of the state’s treasures for granted- Steve however had a joyous soul and was truly in love with the people, culture(s), color of the sky, sunsets, weather, and food! Tragically, he passed away in November. When the Police Department sent me his flag, I felt I had two choices: Leave it in my study where nobody would ever see it, or put it somewhere so that his memory would receive some attention. I chose the latter and ask that you live in the moment and enjoy this beautiful place in his memory- My parents immigrated to the USA from Iran in 1960. After my father completed his residency in Washington DC, my parents randomly selected Albuquerque NM as a place to call home. My father was a cardiologist for over 50 years, and my mom worked with fine art galleries for many years, loving “all fine things Santa Fe” throughout her life in New Mexico. Much of the art collection, both in the main house and casita, were created by artists who were friends of my mom & dad. I followed my parents’ appreciation for Persian rugs, and would still be a collector if I had any room left. I love Santa Fe, feel truly fortunate to be here, and hope that you enjoy this special place as much as I do-Please let me know if there is anything I can do to make your stay more enjoyable! Lilas
Household / Misc: If you are missing any kitchen utensils etc just let me know. There is a mini-split unit in the living area that will heat and/or cool the entire guesthouse. Simply push “on” with the remote and set the temperature to your preference. There is a fire extinguisher on the floor next to the washer/dryer and in the closet of the first bedroom. To operate the stove, please push down on the knob prior to turning. The water from the tap is excellent as we are on a well. I do leave water in the fridge in the event that the well is shut off for repair. It was fixed last week so I don’t anticipate any problems. The TV in the living area has cable and a list of channels is available to you. The other television is hooked up to Netflix and there is a dvd player with assorted movies in the second bedroom. (There are more movies in the main house if you are interested). You can reach me by pressing “int” 4. on the house phone. You can also text me at 303-862-1761. You may turn the ringer off with the button on the side if you do not want to hear incoming calls to the main house. Wifi Network is ASUS and password is Margeaux2 Trash day is Monday, Wed, and Fri. When needed please leave your trash by the front door and I will pick it up. Tuesday is recycle day. There is a recycle bin in the closet by the front door.
