Not really on the London tourist map but Crystal Palace park has lots of history, having been built for the great exhibition. Loads of opened space, local restaurants, the national sports centre, a maze and life size dinosaurs!

One of Londons eight royal parks and a national nature reserve, this enormous open space has plenty to explore on foot or bike (hired in the park). Walk amongst the deer whilst watching the planes come overhead on the approach to Heathrow!
