Our cottage has its own dedicated well. The water in this region is 'hard water' (mineral rich). While it is completely safe to drink, it does have a distinct taste, so we prefer to buy bottled water to drink. The water is, however, completely safe and tested. We use tap water for brushing teeth, washing dishes and vegetables, etc, and bottled water for drinking, making tea, etc.
There is NO WiFi.
Unless your stay includes a Monday, when the municipality collects garbage, guests must take away their own garbage. Garbage cannot be left outside overnight or after your departure due to animals.
This is a family cottage with a long history (built in the 1950s). Because it is so close to our hearts, we will only rent to responsible guests who will respect the cottage, its contents, and the property. Guests who book a stay in our cottage agree to the terms and conditions listed in the "House Rules" section in addition to the standard Airbnb policies. Renters must have a fully completed profile that includes "OfflineID" verification and a clear, recent, face shot photograph.

Inverhuron is a small village of cottages and homes on the shore of Lake Huron just north on the coast from the town of Kincardine. Inverhuron beach is characterized by fine sand and crystal clear water. Large sandbars allow swimmers to walk out for a few dozen meters and still be only waist deep! Kayaking and canoeing are popular sports along the nearby Saugeen River.
Just up the road (5 minutes) is the village of Tiverton. A great pub (The King’s Pearl), a country grocer, and a Chinese food restaurant.
Kincardine is a vibrant small town of 11,000 with a proud Scottish heritage. Each summer, Kincardine hosts the Scottish Festival that includes a huge bagpiping competition attracting bands from across Ontario and the Northeastern U.S.A.
In the historic downtown you'll find independent shops, restaurants (including an espresso bar and steak house), and cottage industries. Canada Day in Kincardine includes a fabulous fireworks display! Famous Sauble Beach and the town of Southampton are also nearby.
