Kerensa is our small, but perfectly formed little cabin. Sit under the stars in the romantic wood burning hot tub with a glass of prosecco. This cosy cabin sleeps 2, with a small kitchen area, table for two and a toilet and shower room. Kerensa cabin is the first of our very small holiday cabin village, we will have four cabins in total, and there may be an opportunity for friends and family to hire out the entire place in the future!
We are based on a small working farm with our own animals and lots of space and fantastic views to relax and take in. The cabin is cosy and equipped, ideal for a romantic break away for two. *please note we are based on a working farm with some farm machinery, animals and sometimes work on the farm being done.* For an extra touch of luxury, you can even book a pampering massage or facial treatment to leave you rejuvenated and totally relaxed. I am a qualified massage therapist and set up spa parties within the cabin on a part time basis. For a discounted price, you can treat yourself or a loved one to a treatment within the cabin. Please enquire in advance. We can also set up a vintage style Cream tea for two. For just £4 per person you can treat yourself to a homemade scone, Cornish clotted cream and locally homemade jam, and of course, a 'proper' Cornish pot of tea. All of this will be laid out with vintage tea cups and traditional china. Please enquire in advance.
St Gennys is a small parish just above the quaint little seaside village of Crackington Haven. With a picturesque sandy/stony little cove, perfect for swimming and body boarding. There is also beach cafes and a friendly local pub. You can also get onto the Coastal Path from here.

The Weekender is a contemporary space,38sqm with stunning views all round step through the door and relax. The decor is stylish, comfortable, a beautiful haven to sit and contemplate the breathtaking surroundings from. Described by a recent guest as "The most beautiful small space they'd ever stayed in" It can be difficult to do anything here other than unwind. But if you can drag yourself away from this little gem it's a great place to explore North Cornwall's diverse delights from.
The Weekender really is a delight, tucked away with views that will take your breath away. My clever husband built this little beauty last year and it evolved into something unique. With our skills and experience in various design projects we have created something we feel is very special. The interior is both cosy but spacious and is filled with lovely finishes that give a high quality and a fabulous feel. It is a very romantic hideaway - ideal for couples. It can be hard to leave to explore the area as it is possible to just sit for hours and and enjoy the space.
Crackington Haven lies in the Parish of St Gennys in North Cornwall. It is a wonderful escape from the hectic side of life. If you don't feel like venturing too far then there are wonderful short and long walks right outside the door. The Weekender sits right on the Southwest coast path - arguably - on one of the most beautiful and dramatic parts of the coast both North and South right here. Crackington has 2 cafes and a good pub - eat and drink overloooking the beautiful beach and giant cliffs. There is a good local shop / PO and a garage just 3 miles from here where you can purchase most things to keep you going! Bude is just 10 miles from The Weekender which is a lovely seaside town with some good shops to wander around and plenty of cafes. Boscastle and Tintagel are approx 6/7 miles south of Crackington offering picturesque harbours, castles and villages. Port Isaac (Port Wenn) is approx 40 mins drive where the popular Doc Martin is filmed - you can wander the tiny streets and recognise your favourite bits! Padstow and Rock are fairly close by with Rick Stein's delicious Fish and chips being the first port of call especially if you've cycled the Camel Trail from Wadebridge or beyond. Further afield are many places to explore The Eden project is about an hours drive and well worth a visit. Closer to home on the edge of Bodmin Moor are Roughtor and Brown Willy- 2 fabulous walks / scrambles with beautiful granite features to admire. Roughtor car park is just a 25 min drive from The Weekender it can be hard to tear yourself away but it's definitely worth the effort.

The Beach House Studio, is in the perfect private location next to the Beach, it's a 2 minute walk to a surf spot, or to a great pub or one of the 2 cafes where you can enjoy the sun going down on the Atlantic coastline. The Room has an amazing view and you can hear and smell the salty sea. The owners live next door but do not intrude on your space or privacy Stuart is a teacher and an artist, and Selina who has an eye for detail and style, works locally.
The Beach House studio is a self contained studio room (self catering )with private access and (URL HIDDEN) is in an elevated position overlooking Crackington Haven Beach, with sea views from every window that are breath taking. The sun sets over the sea in summer months and the bay has a surrounding atmosphere and light that attracts many artists to Cornwall. The studio has a compact ensuite shower room with loo and small basic kitchenette area with kettle, microwave and fridge(tea coffee and milk are provided) There is also an electric ‘looky likey’ woodburning stove and a cosy 2 Seater sofa.
Crackington Haven is an area of outstanding natural beauty nestled between 2 stunning coast paths. You could catch a bus along the coastal road and enjoy walking the coast path home, where you will discover secluded valleys remote beaches, ancient woodlands and rare birds and beautiful scenery. As previously mentioned we are lucky to have a vibrant local pub that serves great food alongside 2 excellent cafes, that are open all day long, for breakfast, lunch, dinner all of which have sea views. There is also a tennis court adjacent to and overlooking the sea Crackington is perfect for Surfing, and is known for its amazing waves;(surf lessons may be booked in advance) Also great for fishing, swimming,or simply sitting and reading. The beach is recommended by the marine conservation society and is listed in its good beach guide There is a well stocked friendly post office and shop nearby at Wainhouse Corner and we also strongly recommend a visit to the Boscastle farm shop for provisions or a delicious meal.

A romantic retreat for two, in a rustic, pastoral setting. The Treehouse is an open-plan, loft-style, timber-clad cabin, complete with a sauna, stereo system and piano, set amidst the trees away from the lane, overlooking a tranquil wooded valley, off the beaten track, only 2 miles from the beach. The air from this natural deciduous wood away from the roads is the cleanest, and healthiest you will ever breathe!
Formerly a large barn, the Treehouse ( weighing in at a whopping 22ft x 40ft), being set away from the main house of Trewarden, is completely private. Ideal for writers, or musicians, it has its own piano, plus a 4 speaker classic stereo system with a record and CD collection to delve into. Listen to the sounds of your choice while roasting in the Sauna, rinse off in the powerful shower, and then sit outside under the moonlight by the barbecue, lit up by the outside lights. It is warm in winter, with a cosy wood burner, while being light and airy in Summer. The perfect place for a dog to roam as we have two fields in which to exercise off the lead, and a copse outside the back door. Please arrange with us in advance if you would like to bring a dog as there will be an additional charge £20 charge, and it will be subject to prior approval.
We are two miles from the beach but right off the beaten track down a narrow lane with little traffic. Walking down to the beach via the back lanes is a real treat. Once there, sit and relax at one of two cafe's or if the weather's right, enjoy a spectacular sunset followed by fish and chips at our local pub, The Coombe Barton.

NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYONE WITH MOBILITY/FITNESS ISSUES From Old Road through garden to self contained unit within our cottage. 2 minute walk to harbour and village. Kitchen/sitting room with electric woodburner. Spiral staircase leading to bedroom with ensuite loo/shower (macerater). A quiet and peaceful little pad set back from the village, just the sound of the Jordan river below, the owls in the wood opposite will serenade you at night and the song birds will be singing away in the morning
PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE A LOT OF STEEP, IRREGULAR, WOBBLY SOMETIMES SLIPPERY STEPS FROM THE ROAD TO THE DOOR. ANYONE WITH SIGHT AND OR MOBILITY ISSUES MAY FIND THESE TOO DIFFICULT. THE PATH IS DARK AT NIGHT AND IN WINTER. INSIDE (WHICH WE HAVE SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS) IS A SPIRAL STAIRCASE WHICH AGAIN IS NARROW AND NOT IDEAL FOR EVERYONE. However! Tastefully and lovingly converted first two floors of our 250 year old cottage. A perfect bolthole to give guests private and cosy accommodation to relax in after a hard day on the beach or wandering around the harbour. . The en suite shower cubicle is a good, standard size, the shower room/area itself is rather 'compact' and due to this the basin is tiny (!) its the only one we could get to fit and only really big enough for tooth brushing and hand washing but thats about it. We sometimes use the steps past the entrance door ourselves to get to and from the village but we do our absolute best to respect guests privacy. PLEASE NOTE due to our location (you'll see why when you get here) there is no radio or TV signal (believe me we have tried) so bring a laptop as the WiFi is excellent! Most guests appreciate the peace and quiet. Please note check out is strictly 10am.
Boscastle is very friendly and great fun. Pretty much zero crime. The beautiful coastal footpath that goes right around the Cornish coast is on the doorstep. In winter walking across a wild, windswept, deserted Cornish beach is one of the best things in the world to do, likewise when the sun shines, the temperature rises and the water is sparkling clear, its heaven. A stroll round the harbour is a must, see the famous blowhole, beautiful sea birds, the fishing boats going in and out on the tide and more often than not the seals put in an appearance too!

Tucked away in a secret little cluster of cottages beside the ancient church of St Gennys in the most amazing cliff top location. Church Cottage is quite delightful and will provide a relaxing retreat at any time of year.
The views from magical Church Cottage are simply breathtaking! From the lovely little garden in the front of this romantic detached cottage, guests can admire the panorama across fields and clifftops to Widemouth Bay and, on a clear day, Lundy Island. Tucked away in a secret little cluster of cottages beside the ancient church of St Gennys, Church Cottage is quite delightful and will provide a relaxing retreat at any time of year. A path winds down from the parking area past the neighbouring cottages and fields to the little picket fence and enclosed garden where guests can enjoy the fresh air and amazing scenery. The cottage has reversed accommodation with pretty bedrooms downstairs, and the compact open plan living room above. A stable door to the staircase acts as a stair-gate.The seaside hamlet of Crackington Haven with its pub and friendly cafes is within walking distance down the hill. There is also a footpath just yards from the cottage which takes you on a beautiful 15 minute walk down to the beach at Crackington Haven. If you prefer to drive to the beach, it takes just five minutes. Set in such an unforgettable location, Church Cottage will tempt guests to return time after time. In a quite beautiful and peaceful spot, close to some of the most spectacular sections of Cornwalls north coast, The Old Cider House is a luxurious conversion providing spacious accommodation for a couple with the added advantage of a lovely private garden.
Located next door to the owner's farmhouse, this delightful conversion has just been completed and offers a truly peaceful place to stay in the North Cornwall area. It is a real treat for couples seeking romantic heaven. A spacious living room is made extra cosy by a traditional log burner sitting in the large inglenook fireplace and the sumptuous leather sofas. Upstairs the beautifully presented bedroom has french windows opening to a charming Juliet balcony from which guests will be treated to bird song from the neighbouring orchard. Outside you can enjoy a morning coffee on the patio or sunbathe in the private south facing garden. The Old Cider House is definitely a place to relax, unwind and revive the spirits. This stunning part of north Cornwall will delight visitors seeking an area of historical interest, beautiful scenery, spectacular walks and a warm Cornish welcome. The famous villages of Boscastle and Port Isaac are both within a short drive and there is nowhere more historic in Cornwall than Tintagel for those fascinated by Arthurian legends. Sandy beaches at Crackington and nearby Widemouth Bay are both great for surfing, but if you fancy a great escape, try the Strangles beach, often quiet even in the height of summer because of a steep path down the cliff. This area is a walker's paradise with some of the most dramatic (and challenging) sections of the south west coastal path from Port Isaac all the way up to Widemouth. Alternatively the wilds of Bodmin Moor are not too distant where you can scale the famous tors of Roughtor or Cornwall's highest point, Brown Willy.AccommodationGround Floor: The beautiful stable door opens into the spacious living room with leather sofas, inglenook fireplace and dining table with lovely wood flooring. A fully fitted kitchen looks out over the garden and the rolling fields beyond.First Floor: Upstairs is the delightful double bedroom with 5' double bed, pastel bed linen and large wardrobes. The gorgeous french windows open to the Juliet balcony and the skylights mean this is a light and airy bedroom in the warmer months, but with the open stairs and a roaring wood-burner, a gorgeous cosy place in winter. A well fitted bathroom adjoins with a bath and over bath shower.Exterior: A small patio is available immediately to the outside of the front door and the garden extends around the house. There is an outside table and a BBQ is available.Facilities & Services Heating is via an air source heat pump and the wood burning stove. The kitchen has a range of modern equipment. There is an electric oven and hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge with freezer compartment and dishwasher. The sitting room has a flat screen digital TV & SMART Blue-ray DVD player with Netflix, a CD & Radio. There is Superfast Wi-Fi at the property. There is an iron & ironing board.MiscellaneousElectricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. All wood is provided free of charge for the woodburner. Parking facilities are available for up to 2 vehicles. Regrettably no smoking or dogs are allowed. There is a cot & high chair available upon request.General Booking Information Arrival / Departure is normally a Sunday.Short breaks are available during quieter periods.£150 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
Between Bodmin and Bude, Crackington Haven lies a few miles from Boscastle and boasts a spectacular beach with some of the best surf in the county. A popular pub, a couple of charming tea rooms and a lovely woodland and coastal walk are also excellent reasons for a visit. Crackington Haven is on one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline in North Cornwall. The village itself is located in a very narrow valley with steep sides leading to a beach where beautiful sand is exposed at low tide. The beach is popular with surfers and the surrounding coastline is a huge draw for walkers. The cliffs are not only dramatic, but are also geologically fascinating. Immediately north of the beach is Pencarrow Point and a few hundred yards south is Cambeak headland. One mile south of Crackington Haven, High Cliff rises to 735 feet (224 m) with a sheer drop to the rocky foreshore. The surrounding area has beautiful countryside and nearby Bude has a full range of shops, pubs & restaurants. There are a whole range of beaches within a few miles drive along the coast as well. The landscape rises dramatically to the south onto the moors with more superb walking to be had - it really is a lovely place to visit and explore!Boscastle is one of the most picturesque villages in Cornwall, with a tiny natural port and coastal paths passing through superb unspoilt countryside, much of it owned by the National Trust. Browse the shops and enjoy some refreshment at one of many charming cafes in the village. Boscastle, situated on rugged North Coast of Cornwall, has an incredibly picturesque tiny natural port. Once a thriving port at the base of a ravine serving North Cornwall, the village now survives on its tourism industry. Unfortunately, the disastrous floods of 2004 damaged some historic properties, but Boscastle is most definitely up and running again now. The Witchcraft Museum, which re-opened in 2005, houses an extensive collection of related artefacts including a Dutch collection donated to the museum in 2000. There are many gift shops and cafe's in the village, as well as a pottery, with amazing coastal walks and views to each side of the valley. On the north side of the harbour at Penally Point is a natural blow hole, which at low tides with enough swell sends plumes of water high into the air. There is a fabulous 7 mile walk between Boscastle and Crackington Haven which is extremely popular, although it is quite a testing length of coastline. Many sites of interest surround Boscastle with lots to explore. Nearby Tintagel and a ruined castle heralds myths of King Arthur, with Camelford rumoured to be Camelot of old.Widemouth Bay is a varied and interesting beach with a long open bay. At the northerly end of Widemouth there is a large sandy area that becomes more exposed as the tide drops and to either side of this the sand gives way to some fantastic rock formations. The beach is ideal for families, whether you wish to swim, sunbathe, surf or hunt for marine life in the hundreds of rock pools. Lifeguards are present during the season. These are some of the best beaches in Cornwall so don't miss the chance to try your surfing or 'boogie' boarding skils. There are a number of surf schools in the area. For Walkers and Cyclists the area is full of superb routes and Bude lies at the centre of the most dramatic stretch of the South West coastal footpath. There are numerous local villages and landmarks to explore and much of the area ia a nature lovers paradise.Bude is a popular resort for families and surfers, boasting spectacular sandy beaches and some of the best waves in the county. The town, located close to the border with Devon, is filled with shops, restaurants, pubs and even a local theatre. Bude is Cornwall's most northern town and has been a favourite seaside resort since Victorian times. The coastal scenery surrounding the beaches of Bude are quite beautiful. There is a huge amount of bird life for the dedicated twitcher and some wonderful walks along the cliff tops. Along the coast is Sandy Mouth which is ideal for families due to its lovely sand and numerous rock pools. Morwenstow, which is a little further towards Devon is just south of Henna Cliff. The cliff is the highest in Cornwall and has a sheer drop down to the sea. From here you can see across to South Wales. The centre of Bude has a theatre, concerts, dances and fetes, as well as other events throughout the season. There is a new Visitors Centre in the Crescent car park which has an extensive display by the North Cornwall Heritage Coast and Countryside Service including a children's area. There is a weekly Cornish Furry Dance and an annual Carnival Week. Bude is also home to a popular jazz festival which takes place every year in August.

The Chalet is a self-contained wood-built cabin in the grounds of Haven View, perched on the side of the valley and overlooking the dramatic cliffs and beach of Crackington Haven. If you feel like joining in and enjoying the activities, cafes or pub, it's only a 2 minute walk away, or you can sit on the deck and just quietly observe.
Private, self-catering wood-built Chalet. Open plan layout with kitchen, dining and lounge areas. Independent pathway from road. Dual aspect full-height sliding glass doors for stunning views. Level decking veranda with lounger chairs. Comfortably furnished lounge area. Wood Burner and underfloor heating for the colder seasons. Fully equipped kitchen. Oven, hob, microwave and Belfast sink. Full range of utensils, crockery and cutlery. Dining table and seating area ample for four. Modern bathroom with roll-top bath, shower. Separate double bedroom (with the bathroom access). Double sofa-bed in lounge area. Although the sofa bed is comfortable, it's probably best to think of the chalet as a shorter stay 2+2 rather than being practical for longer term stays for 4 people. Linen & towels provided. Mobile phone signal can be patchy due to geography but good free WiFi is provided. Extra warm blankets provided, just in case you want to sit outside under the starry skies (no light pollution here!). Lock-up shed if you’re coming on bikes, hose for washing them down (or you) if it gets a bit mucky. Dedicated parking space to front of main house.
Crackington Haven is in an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), is SSSI designated, due to the interesting geology, and is of course on one of the most rugged, beautiful and sometimes challenging coastal path sections, overlooking secluded coves, dramatic cliffs and harbouring copious wildlife too. The beach is dynamic and changes shape with each tide, normally having a shingle top section but changing to more sandy and flat as the tide goes out. During the summer season (July -September) there are RNLI lifeguards stationed to keep an eye on everything. The beach is rated Excellent by the Marine Conservation Society. There are two cafes serving locally-sourced food and drinks and The Coombe Barton Inn pub is also open for excellent food and drinks too. There are tennis courts just above the beach, possibly the ones with the most stunning location and views while playing in the country! By road, Tintagel and its castle are not far down the coast, along with the small villages of Boscastle and the now 'Doc Martin' famous Port Isaac. Going north, the surfing beaches of Widemouth and Bude are only minutes away and there's an excellent family-owned independent cinema on the Bude road too. The sea plays a major part of the draw of course, and many centres for taking part in activities where new skills can be learned and enjoyed, such as surfing, kayaking, paddleboarding and coasteering, can be enjoyed. Heading inland there are more stunning walks among the granite tors and uplands of Bodmin Moor with many little hamlets seemingly hidden away from the rest of the world to explore on the way.

Beautiful bespoke wooden cabin by the cliffs, which offers the experience of off grid living without giving up luxury. With panoramic views of the North Cornish coast, wood burning stove, and wrap around decking it is the perfect year round escape.
There isn't another Cabin like ours on the planet it is 100% bespoke with luxury in mind. With an open plan layout and breathtaking views its the perfect place for a relaxing romantic escape.
The Cabin is on our farm on the wild and rugged unspoilt coast of North Cornwall, it's the perfect place to get away from it all. The fantastic beach at Crackington Haven is 1 hours walk (or 10 minutes drive if you're feeling lazy) across the cliffs taking in the stunning views. Swimming, surfing, fishing or lazing Crackington has it all. The choice of 2 excellent cafes, and a brilliant pub and even a tennis court overlooking the sea. Board and wetsuit hire is available too.

Delightful converted barn, full of character. Sleeps 6, secluded rural setting near coast paths & Crackington beach. Family run for over 40 yrs. Featured in The Guardian 13/05/17; 'We head towards the sea for a cliff walk looking over Crackington Haven beach. It feels as though we’re walking at the edge of the world: the contrast of blue sea, craggy coast, gorse bushes & wildflowers is transfixing. The kids love it too. Once in a while, it’s good to feel small & let the landscape dominate you.'
Abel's is a wonderful cottage full of character. It has high wood beamed ceilings, mezzanine bedroom, double room, bunks & single bedroom. Charming wood/slate floors & stone walls, heating & woodburner. Set in ancient woodland & farmland, it's only 200m from the coast path & a 5 min drive to fabulous Crackington beach. Abel's is a converted barn with over 200 years of history. This delightful cottage was once the forge where the blacksmith Abel worked, serving the local parish of St. Gennys. It is located up a mile long single track lane which passes through a stream. It is set within Cleave Farm's farm and woodland and is so close to the spectacular, rugged Cornish path and coastline. There is a double bedroom, a mezzanine with double bed and a room with bunks and a single bed - from June 2020, there will only be twin beds and no bunks in this room. The kitchen and living space is open plan and spacious with a wood burner for coziness. There is plenty of outdoor space to play, chill, BBQ and star gaze in the evenings! JULY AND AUGUST are blocks of weekly bookings only, which run from Saturday to Saturday. No monthly discounts during school holidays/high season. The Cottage has Cornish Quality Approved status provided by the Tourist Board at Visit Bude.
We are very proud that Crackington Haven was awarded a Seaside Award in 2019. These are only awarded to coastal destinations that boast the highest qualities of water, facilities, safety, Keep Clean programmes, environmental education and management. Crackington and St. Gennys is a wonderful community! You will enjoy exploring the beach, surfing the fun waves, making sandcastles or having a BBQ as the sun sinks into the sea. You are sure to enjoy some great sight seeing, whether walking or driving and there is great local food to try. Our local pub often has bands, themed food nights, quizzes etc. Many people use the cottage as a base and enjoy exploring the many delights that the local area has to offer. If you enjoy walking, there are a good variety of walks of different distances locally including coast, woodland moorland and more.... Bude, with supermarkets, beaches and shops is only a 20 minute drive away. Praised for its fantastic activities, beautiful beaches and brilliant hospitality, Bude has once again scooped the coveted Gold award at this 2019's British Travel Awards as the Best UK Coastal Town. Boscastle, 15 minute drive. Tintagel 25 minute drive.

Light and airy modern cottage situated in beautiful National Trust coastal area. Chough Cottage is on a quiet private road just 400m from Crackington Haven beach - location of cafes, pub, sand, surf, rock pools and Cornish coastal path.
One of a small number of houses in Crackington Haven - situated on a quiet private lane. Modern cottage built in 1997. New modern kitchen with dining area. Light living room with wood burning stove, large smart TV, super-fast fibre optic Wifi, apple TV, Amazon Firestick TV, driftwood/seagrass furniture and original artwork with sea scenes, conservatory with (oldish) cross-trainer. Large master bedroom with queen bed, large bedroom with twin beds, small bedroom with a single bed for an adult or two singles for children at a pinch. New bathrooms with walk-in showers. New modern kitchen with ceramic hob, seating for 8. Garage is a playroom with table tennis and darts. BBQ area (with Weber gas barbecue) with outdoor seating for those lovely sunset evenings. There is a large garden which combines a flat lawn are with a natural hillside with benches overlooking the sea for sunsets.
Extremely beautiful National Trust location in a wooded valley with view of the sea. Easy to get changed, wander down to the beach, come back and shower. Fantastic walks to Bude and Boscastle via the South-West coastal path. Walk there and catch the bus back. The house is situated on a quiet private lane which has seven houses. Turn left for the wood and right for the beach. The beach area is stone at the top and has a large sandy area when the tide is out. There are lovely rock pools either side. The beach is dominated by a large cliff - called Penkenna. The South-West coastal path runs to the top of the cliff - it's not as bad as it looks and there are tremendous views from the top. Walking through the wood will also bring you to the coast at Strangles beach - very wild - and there is a lovely circular walk on the top of the cliff back to Crackington and the house. The beach is great for kids and has some good surfing - both professional stuff and bodyboarding. Cornwall has become a real foodie destination. The local pub (600m) serves good food and has recently been refurbished - try the fresh fish. The Cabin cafe makes all its own cakes, pasties etc - rumour has it that they use meat from their own cattle in the pasties. They serve a mean espresso and the farmers fry-up for breakfast is not to be missed. Nearest top restaurants are in Port Isaac (30 mins) and Padstow (45 mins). Port Isaac boasts Nathan Outlaw's restaurant - currently number 1 in the U.K - we love his Fish Kitchen though which is next to the beach in Port Isaac. It does fish tapas. Padstow boasts Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth. Jamie Oliver's 15 in Watergate Bay (45 mins) is great. Slightly more downmarket but fantastic for fresh fish is Life's A Beach in Bude (25 mins). Also, the Wellington in Boscastle (20 mins) is excellent. There is a local post office 3 miles up the road at Wainhouse Corner that has a selection of groceries. There are supermarkets in Bude (25 mins) or Camelford (20 mins). Waitrose, Tesco and Asda deliver.

The property is located 5 miles from Crackington Haven, which is included in the best surfing beaches in England and was recommended by the Marine Conservation Society in its Good Beach Guide. The scenery in the beach area of the surrounding majestic cliffs is almost unrivalled. At high tide, the beach is a mass of quartz-veined pebbles and large boulders but at low tide, it reveals an expanse of sand and many rock pools. Only the road separates the sea from a couple of beach shops, two superb beach cafes and a public house with a restaurant and a fantastic terrace.Tintagel exudes charm and medieval history with Arthurian legend as the birthplace of King Arthur, Tintagel Island is reached via a narrow footpath and there is now a magnificent new footbridge which links the island to the mainland and means the walk to the castle is significantly easier. The cliffs around Tintagel are all Devonian Slate and the sands at the foot of the cliffs turn the sea a bright turquoise in strong sunlight, a truly beautiful sight. Tintagel is a delightful holiday village with many tourist shops and cafés, pubs and restaurants.Fifteen minutes up the coast is Bude, a popular tourist destination for both its surfing and fantastic family beaches in Widemouth Bay. The watchful eye of the RNLI lifeguards allows for some of the best surfing in the world alongside swimming and a whole host of water-based activities. Bude today is a lovely sea-side town, the main shopping streets and inter-connecting alleyways play host to a wide range of locally-owned shops, restaurants and pubs. There are boutiques, shoes, arts & crafts, jewellery, hand-made gifts and souvenirs.A few miles inland is Bodmin Moor, one of Cornwall's designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cornwall at its wildest and rich in ancient history, Bodmin Moor stretches for 30 miles through the heart of the County of Cornwall and offers spectacular walking and horse riding. With easy access to both the A30 and the Atlantic Highway you can quickly travel up and down the South-West to enjoy some of the larger tourist attractions that Devon and Cornwall have to offer. To the west lies the stunning and infamous village of Boscastle, it is a tiny port set in a narrow ravine, the town came into prominence recently as a result of terrible floods in the summer of 2004. In the village, there is a pottery, a museum of witchcraft and several gift shops. A footpath to the left of the quayside will take you to the 'Lookout' which is a wonderful vantage point from which to view the rugged coastline. Boscastle was once a favourite meeting place of the author Thomas Hardy, and is the location for one of his novels 'A Pair of Blue Eyes'. Boat trips can be taken from the harbour as far as Long Island, where during the breeding season you may see razorbills, puffins & guillemots. There is a demanding 7-mile coastal path walk between Boscastle and Crackington Haven. There are several attractions along this stretch of coast including Strangles beach at the bottom of a large landslip with a rock arch the Northern Door. Just south of here is High Cliff which is the highest point on the Cornish coast path. Don't forget to visit Pentargon inlet which has an imposing waterfall that cascades down to the sea below.Trethevy is a delightful hamlet, equidistant from Boscastle and Tintagel and has a history which may well go back to 250 AD when a granite post was inscribed with C DOMI N GALLO ET VOLUS – ‘For the Emperor Caesars our lords Gallus and Volusian' this can now be found outside St Piran a former monastery and now private residence, Trethevy is also home to St Nectans Glen a beautiful valley where the River Trevillet has carved its way through the slate and formed a beautiful 60' waterfall. On Bodmin Moor, Dozmary pond is thought to contain Arthur's Excalibur, and Merlin is thought to be still found walking under Tintagel Island. Camelford is a great centre for touring, walking, fishing, swimming or surfing holidays. The town is steeped in history and has excellent shopping and sporting facilities. Port Isaac is the location of the televisions series Poldark and more recently Doc Martin, as well as being a gorgeous working fishing village. Bodmin Jail built in 1778, notorious for its public executions by hanging, was the first jail to be built housing inmates in individual cells. The Jail closed in 1927 and is now a museum open to the public, which during the First World War housed the Crown Jewels and the Doomsday Book. The famous Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic-free paths for 18 miles, providing the whole family with a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge, and out to Padstow where you can sample Rick Stein's famous Fish and Chips. The market town of Launceston is the capital of Cornwall and well worth a visit to see the church of St Mary Magdelene, with granite carvings, unusual among Cornish churches.

Our delightful, individual wooden chalet has a south-westerly aspect and is nestled into the side of the cliff by the sea with amazing views over the beach at Crackington Haven. In an idyllic location just a few minutes walk from a lovely sandy beach, a couple of cafes and a super pub serving great food overlooking the bay which enjoys frequent amazing sunsets.
Very comfortable self-catering seaside chalet set in a pretty little garden with paved patio area enjoying fantastic sea views. The open-plan living area has oak floors and leather sofas, a dining area and well-equipped kitchen with large windows and French doors opening onto the patio [which is furnished with 4 chairs and a table to enjoy dining al fresco] and offers a great outside space to take advantage of the superb views in shelter and comfort. There are two small bedrooms [one king and one with bunk beds] which have large windows and a shower/wet room with loo and wash-basin. There are ample electric heaters and the chalet is a great place to stay at any time of year.
Rachel's home is located in Crackington Haven, Nr Bude, Cornwall. Crackington Haven is located in a stunning bay with dramatic cliffs to the north and south which offer welcome shelter on windy days. With the coast path on your doorstep and a local bus service operating between Bude and Boscastle passing through the Haven, this is a great base to discover the many and varied scenic walks in the area. Whilst you have a well-equipped kitchen there is no need to cook on holiday as the two excellent beach cafes and a super local pub overlooking the beach offer tasty, home-cooked food and drinks from breakfast-time and all through the day, year round. The beach is great for rock-pooling as well as safe swimming and surfing [especially good in the spring and autumn] or just relaxing in the sunshine with a good book. If you are feeling a little more energetic you also have the opportunity to play tennis on two very good tennis courts situated on the low cliffs above the beach so remember the rackets when you pack for your holiday. Essential provisions can be purchased at a couple of local shops 5 minutes drive up the hill and there is a fantastic farm shop on the approach to Boscastle for top quality local produce and superb home-cooked meals, cakes and teas. You will find plenty of information, maps and suggestions for places to go and things to do on the side board in the chalet.

Secluded rural setting close to coastal path & beaches. A fabulous location to explore Cornwall. Family run for over 40 yrs. 5 min drive to Crackington. Featured in The Guardian in May 2017: 'This place is gorgeous. Wooden beams, a high ceiling, charming wonky floors and walls that mean you are in a “real” old house. Natural light pours through the windows, and outside are rolling landscapes of dewy-morning grass lit up by the sun – all accompanied by the sound of birdsong and bleating sheep.'
Unique ancient Cornish barn oozing charm and character; situated in rural location, yet only five minutes from gorgeous Crackington Haven. This cosy cottage sleeps for in a double and a twin room. Cleave Cottage has slate and wooden floors, stone walls and old wooden beams. This ‘upside down’ cottage has a lovely contemporary feel, whilst maintaining its unique rustic character. It has central heating and a cosy wood burner. It is open plan upstairs with shower and bedrooms downstairs, one double and twin beds in the other bedroom. It is situated close by three other cottages. Fully fitted kitchen/diner with large fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Oak wooden floor of open plan area slopes gently as it did as an old grain storage barn. Sitting room with wood burner and lovely views over surrounding countryside. TV and DVD. Wifi is accessible in the cottage. Electricity, oil central heating and sheets for the beds are provided. Please bring your own towels. There will be a basket of logs for you on arrival; extra logs are available from Wainhouse Corner. Quote from Pete Newham who stayed in Cleave Cottage in 2019 - 'We've holidayed in Cornwall for years and love it, we especially like the north coast, but we never stay in the same cottage twice. However, last year we felt there was something special about Cleave Farm and want to return again to Cleave Cottage.' Pets are welcome at £25 extra per visit - please pay when here. We ask that dogs are kept out of the bedrooms and off the furniture please. There is sufficient parking for 2 cars per cottage. We are a twenty minute drive from Bude. We have Cornish Quality status from Bude Tourism Board ensuring safety and comfort. Cleave Farm is located up a mile long lane which passes through a stream. It is set within Cleave Farm's farm and woodland and is only 150 metres from the spectacular rugged Cornish path and coastline. There is plenty of space outside for children to play and for you to relax and BBQ. Crackington beach has a great pub with good food and sometimes bands etc. There are also two cafes. The beach provides surfing, rock pooling, sand at low tide and is a great place to watch the sun disappear into the sea. We are certain you will fall in love with Crackington and many of the other spectacular places that there are to visit locally. Boscastle is a 20 minute drive, Tintagel 30 minutes. JULY AND AUGUST are blocks of weekly bookings only, which run from Saturday to Saturday. No monthly discount during high season or school holidays.
We are very proud that Crackington Haven was awarded a Seaside Award in 2019. These are only awarded to coastal destinations that boast the highest qualities of water, facilities, safety, Keep Clean programmes, environmental education and management. There is so much to see locally and slightly further afield. We can advise on fantastic day trips in Cornwall and Devon. There is always something to suit everyone. From invigorating coastal, moorland and woodland walks, wonderful beaches, quirky harbours, villages and towns, delicious local food and much more.... If you enjoy walking, there are a good variety of walks of different distances locally including coast, woodland moorland and more.... Bude is only a 20 minute drive and praised for its fantastic activities, beautiful beaches and brilliant hospitality, Bude has once again scooped the coveted Gold award at this year’s British Travel Awards as the Best UK Coastal Town. Boscastle, a character filled harbour village, is only a 20 minute drive away. Tintagel, the legendary home of King Arthur, is a 30 minute drive.

A stone's throw from the most beautiful beach surrounded by cliffs, with no roads to cross (less than 20m). The cafe and the pub are just across the road too. Perfect for walking along the coastal paths between Tintagel and Bude, rock-pooling and building sandcastles, and watching the sun set over the sea. A safe surfing spot for all levels. Situated within an area of outstanding natural beauty, this is a simple, peaceful escape for all ages, and a 15 minute drive to Bude and Bostcastle.
The Old Coach House is a cosy house, with a dining kitchen, bathroom and twin bedroom on the ground floor, two upstairs bedrooms (one twin, one double), a toilet and a large lounge with stunning sea view. There's a small conservatory/ entrance hall, a small garden to the front and rear and parking spaces for two vehicles. The fully equipped kitchen also shares the sea view, with a dishwasher, washing machine and a large fridge-freezer. Check-in time after 2pm and Check-out time is 9.45am. The ground floor bathroom has a shower cubicle, toilet and sink.
Situated in centre of Crackington Haven, in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, loved by walkers and adventurers. The two local cafes sell a range of homemade pasties, cakes and sandwiches. The friendly and popular pub right on the doorstep serves delicious meals. The beach is the main attraction, changing with the the tide - with pebbles at high tide and beautiful soft sand at low tide. It's a great surfing and bodyboarding spot for beginners and the more experienced. There are also wonderful coastal path walks that will blow away a year's worth of cobwebs as well as gentler ambles through the woods and along the stream. Bude, Widemouth and Bostcastle are within a fifteen minute drive too.

At the northerly end of Widemouth, there is a large sandy area that becomes more exposed as the tide drops and to either side of this, the sand gives way to some fantastic rock formations. The beach is ideal for families, whether you wish to swim, sunbathe, surf or hunt for marine life in the hundreds of rock pools. Lifeguards are present during the season. These are some of the best beaches in Cornwall so don't miss the chance to try your surfing or 'boogie' boarding skills. There are a number of surf schools in the area. For Walkers and cyclists, the area is full of superb routes and Bude lies at the centre of the most dramatic stretch of the South West coastal footpath. There are numerous local villages and landmarks to explore and much of the area is a nature lovers paradise. Bude is only a couple of minutes down the road and has the full range of facilities that one would expect of a small town including a wide range of shops, pubs & restaurant.Just up the coast is Bude which is possibly more diverse than any other holiday destination in Cornwall. Most major villages, towns and attractions are within an hour's drive; and because Bude sits on the county border, visitors are free to explore the delights of both Devon and Cornwall at their leisure. Look past the eight main beaches and many smaller hidden coves and you soon see there really is something for everyone. In the centre of Bude, there is a huge, sandy beach which is a favourite with children and adults alike, there is an outdoor sea pool, pretty canal, golf course, splash pool and tennis courts. Bude is Cornwall's most northern town and has been a favourite seaside resort since Victorian times. The coastal scenery surrounding the beaches is quite beautiful, boasting some of the finest sandy beaches and the best surfing in England! The town has excellent facilities and a wide selection of interesting, independent shops. This idyllic area has a large amount of birdlife for the dedicated twitcher and some wonderful, scenic walks along the South West coastal path. The centre of Bude is a lively hub with concerts, dances and fetes as well as other events throughout the season, including an annual Carnival Week. The town has a host of pubs, cafes and restaurants to suit every palate and there is a new Visitors Centre in the Crescent car park, a large children's play area, a 19th-century canal and a small wharf amongst many other attractions. Bude is also home to the internationally acclaimed jazz festival which takes place each August.Further along the coast is Sandymouth Beach, a large beach ideal for families due to its lovely sand, rock pools and tea rooms. A short drive north over the border into Devon leads to the quaint village of Hartland with its very own shipwreck! Also well worth a visit is the world-famous fishing village of Clovelly. The cobbled, traffic-free, high street is built into a cleft in a 400' high cliff and tumbles its way down past whitewashed cottages festooned with flowers to the tiny working port.Further West down the A39 will lead you to Boscastle, Crackington Haven, Tintagel and on down to Rock, Padstow and Wadebridge all with their own fascinating histories, endless beaches, magnificent promontories, secluded coves and pubs and restaurants full of character and fine local cuisine - this part of Cornwall will rapidly become one of your favourite holiday destinations.
