“The zoo is a great place to visit and bring the kids if you want. Admission is free, but be forewarned it costs $20 to park there (when there is space) and there are no in/out parking privileges for vehicles. We like to see the pandas. My favorite time of the year is when they have the zoo lit up with Christmas lights. It is also located in one of the older neighborhoods in the city so you can walk by to see some great architecture in the neighborhood.”

“This is the back entrance to the National Zoo. Knowing where it is makes a trip to the zoo entirely walk-able (a little bit of a long walk if you aren't use to walking a lot) and a great running loop if you are looking for a 3-4 mile loop. BONUS: The Zoo is FREE”

“Contemporary American surprises, fermented and seared, and at times pleasingly straight forward. My top spot if you’re only here for a night, plus it’s yards away. Great coffee and snacks (the breakfast sandwich, goodness gracious) in the morning to boot. ”
