Broadway is a beautiful village in the North Cotswolds, steeped in history and surrounded by stunning countryside. The village gets its name from the wide street, or broad way, that runs through the centre which was once the main road from Worcester to London. This attractive High Street is bordered with chestnut trees and honey coloured stone cottages dating from the 16th century and is one of the most picturesque villages of the Cotswolds. The broad way is thought to be especially wide because at one time there used to be streams running each side of the main drive. These streams were eventually hidden in underground pipes where they would emerge at 'dipping' points, but sadly they are now almost completely invisible. The village has artistic links with famous dwellers including J.M. Barrie, Mary Anderson and William Morris, who were drawn to the tranquillity of Broadway. It was here that Morris and John Ruskin pioneered the idea of the Arts and Crafts Movement which made its home in the area and went on to be an international movement. One of the iconic features of the village is Broadway Tower which was built in the late 18th century by the Earl of Coventry. It is said that the tower was erected so that the Countess could see if her Cotswold estate was visible from Croome Court in Worcestershire, which it was. The folly stands some 1,024 feet above sea level, making it the second highest point in the Cotswolds after Cleeve Hill. In fact, on a clear day, visitors are able to see 14 counties from the top! William Morris was so taken by the tower that he went on to establish the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings in 1877. Food & Drink Broadway has a number of places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit most tastes and budgets. The list below is a sample of the options available: Russell's (www.russellsofbroadway.co.uk): Head Chef, Neil Clarke, serves modern British food in the award-winning restaurant, with local Vale of Evesham and Cotswold produce featuring throughout the daily-changing menus. The modern, airy dining room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with friendly staff and laid-back service combining to create a relaxed and warm setting, day and night; The Lygon Arms (http://www.thehotelcollection.co.uk/hotels/the-lygon-arms-hotel-cotswolds/): A 17th century minstrel's gallery, a grand open fire and an imposing barrel-vaulted ceiling greet you as you enter The Great Hall, the main dining room of the famous Lygon Arms Hotel. A destination in its own right, people travel miles to enjoy the restaurant's 2 AA Rosettes for excellence sumptuous cuisine and warm friendly service of the highest quality. A few steps across the courtyard, Lukes Bistro offers a relaxing atmosphere serving traditional English cuisine with a contemporary twist, equally as imaginative and as fresh, using ingredients that are grown and reared locally, including a wide range of herbs and plums from the hotel's own orchards; The Potting Shed (www.dormyhouse.co.uk/potting-shed-restaurant): The Potting Shed is everything a Cotswold country dining pub should be. It's relaxed and inviting, with a large leather-and-oak bar and a rustic agenda. This is English pub grub as it ought to be: sticky ribs, great bangers, slow-cooked pork belly and fish that's been caught on our shores. Dress up and enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail, or dress down and bring the kids.

An impressive date palm tree gives the garden an exotic feel and besides this lies the patio area which contains a large outdoor table with seating for four and a charcoal barbecue. To the side of the cottage there is a lawn area and the addition of dusk-to-dawn sensory lights around the garden creates a romantic atmosphere and makes it a delightful spot to relax in the summer months once the sun’s set. Two stone steps lead up to the summer house which looks down the driveway and across to the neighbouring farmland and 12th century church. Equipped with heating, electricity and a spacious bamboo seating area, the summer house is another wonderful area in which to unwind after days spent exploring the Cotswolds. The gated driveway provides off-street parking for up to two small cars, and further on-street parking is available on the lane.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Welcome to my home. Bedroom and dressing/sitting room and bathroom. Lovely Cotswold views from your window's intro you to country life. Charming village a foodie pub's and shop with tea room. Walks, views, charm and history await your stay. Its a private working house in the country and I welcome people to simple space, hospitality and jolly good breakfast. All I ask is that you enjoy your time in The Cotswold's and embrace my home as a home
Simple space that is comfortable and relaxed in a private house that is a working house and not a hotel or indeed aB&B. Your space will be respected and I believe I offer value for money ( The Cotswold's is a busy and expensive location for accomodation with 2or3 night min occupancy only at key months ) in a lovey part of The UK. Therefore Airbnb and The Garden House offer great value and flexibility - plus a warm welcome for sure !
Willersey is a delightful Cotswold Village. Small but it has life and soul - pubs and one shop allows easy living. On the door step of all the Key Cotswold villages and attractions. Also Stratford upon Avon and Cheltenham are both 25mins away if the countryside gets too much !

Broadway is a beautiful village in the Cotswolds. The village is very pretty and has lots of things to do all within walking distance of the property, which is situated at the edge of the village. The location is quiet and peaceful. The village is on the famous Cotswold Way, popular with walkers and the house is around 400m from the footpath. There is a choice of places to eat in the village itself from pubs to different types of restaurants.
Your room is private and spacious with a generous modern bathroom. Additionally, you can use the conservatory which looks over the garden to sit in and relax. A help-yourself breakfast will be available each day in the conservatory with bread, cereals, yogurt and fruit. You are free to use the garden too.
People enjoy staying in the cotswolds for lots of reasons, but primarily visit for the beautiful countryside and historic honey coloured buildings. It is a central part of the country and is not far from several important towns. Stratford on Avon is 18 miles away, Cheltenham 17 miles, Worcester 25 miles and Oxford about 30 miles away

Those looking for a quintessential Cotswolds escape in every sense of the word need look no further than this delightful bolthole in the centre of the beautiful market town of Broadway; a small-but-perfectly-formed mews cottage for up to four guests, hidden in a quiet backwater just a stone’s throw from Broadway’s main shopping street.
With 200 years of history under its belt, this is real Cotswold-cottage living; a heritage-rich hideaway for holidaymakers looking to get under the skin of one of the Cotswolds’ most popular tourist destinations. Postcard-worthy exteriors greet you from the moment you step through the courtyard within which the cottage sits, with a stone carving on the wall dating ‘Aug 1, 1811’ giving you a good idea of the cottage’s impressive history. Inside, the cottage’s cosy, homely interiors blend the modern with the traditional, with plenty of nods to its heritage preserved in the exposed wooden beams, beautiful parquet flooring, original windows and Victorian equine artwork adorning the walls. Elegant yet comfortable, the real star of the cottage is its beautifully-maintained courtyard garden; a real treat for a cottage of this size and the perfect spot within which to unwind, sundowner in hand, after a day exploring the glorious Cotswold surroundings. Best of all, Broadway’s many boutiques, cafés and restaurants are all within a 2-minute walk from the front door. The Living Space Stepping through the traditional stable door directly into a light-filled hallway, glimpses to the cottage’s heritage are evident in the whitewashed stone walls and parquet flooring found throughout the cottage’s ground floor, evoking a real sense of country-living as soon as you step inside. The shared living space of the house is accessible directly from the central hallway, giving the cottage a flowing, spacious feel despite its smaller size. To the right, a snug dining room with table for four and views to the cottage’s pretty courtyard garden can be found, leading through into a modest but well-equipped kitchen that sits at the cottage’s front. Perfectly petite, the kitchen manages to squeeze in all you’ll need for a well-catered stay, including a double electric oven, dishwasher, freestanding fridge/freezer and plenty of kitchenware; there’s even a tiny tea making station tucked within a handy wall nook. Stepping back through the hallway you’ll find a cosy living room and the main living space of the house, boasting sink-in sofas in calming country-cream hues and bright dual aspect windows, including a handy French door leading directly out into the property’s pretty courtyard garden. The cottage’s history here once again comes to life through the parquet flooring, statement stone fireplace - complete with Victorian-era favourite Staffordshire Dog ornaments – and traditional equine artwork; a subtle nod to Broadway’s history as a key coaching hub of the Cotswolds. Modernists needn’t worry though, with a TV and WiFi on hand to ensure you stay well and truly up to date with the 21st century during your stay. The ground floor also homes a handy cloakroom WC, hidden away beneath the stairs. Bedrooms Upstairs, 2 well-proportioned bedrooms sleep up to 4 guests: Bedroom 1 The master bedroom of the house can be found at the top of the cottage’s staircase, boasting the same bright dual-aspect outlook that the cottage’s living room enjoys. An eye-catching antique French-style double bed acts as the focal point of the room; an intricate masterpiece in mahogany, featuring delicate carvings and four miniature posts to evoke a real sense of occasion. A generously-proportioned room, there’s also a built-in wardrobe, dresser and dressing table at your disposal, plus attractive exposed beams and a delicate tapestry adorning the wall to further emphasise the elegant, French-style feel. Bedroom 2 Across the landing sits Bedroom 2, with zip-and-link twin beds making it perfect for younger guests or adults who don’t mind bunking in together. Boasting the same refined, French-style theme of the Master, Bedroom 2 also benefits from beautiful bright interiors thanks to the dual-aspect windows overlooking the cottage’s frontage and beautiful private courtyard garden. It also homes a statement mahogany dressing table, built-in wardrobe and small sink behind the door; a Victorian throw-back that’s stood the test of time. Bathroom The cottage’s main bathroom can be found upstairs between bedrooms 1 and 2, with a double shower, attractive Victorian-style Chatsworth wash basin and wonderfully high ceiling, evoking a real sense of space within this family bathroom. Fully tiled with wood-effect flooring, a large window overlooking the cottage’s front floods the bathroom with light, boasting the same laid-back yet elegant style that can be found throughout the cottage. What’s Outside Hidden away in a somewhat secret courtyard just off Broadway’s main shopping street, Box Cottage is perfectly placed for those seeking the peace and tranquillity of a country escape, with the benefit of amenities on the doorstep. Pretty in equal measure inside and out, the cottage is accessed from the front through a kissing gate at the end of a quiet backwater, sitting pretty alongside a row of fellow mews cottages opposite an ivy-strewn dry-stone wall. The real gem of the cottage is its private courtyard garden, accessible via French doors leading from the staircase and living room. Encased by traditional Cotswold stone walls in typical courtyard style, this spacious outside area affords the cottage plenty of al-fresco dining opportunities thanks to a dedicated outdoor-dining set and charcoal BBQ sat beneath a beautiful Wisteria-strewn pergola; ideal for offering shade on sunny summer days. The perfect space to unwind in after a day exploring Broadway’s many boutiques, the courtyard is beautifully-maintained with plenty of greenery to give it a real English country garden feel. Facilities Parking on premises (one car) Wireless Internet Washing Machine Dishwasher Charcoal BBQ Outdoor Dining Area Iron Telephone 1.5 Bathrooms 2 bedrooms Amenities within walking distance Local Amenities Amenities are very much on the doorstep at Box Cottage, meaning you needn’t have to venture far for the essentials during your stay. The nearest convenience stores are in Broadway itself, with Warner’s Budgens and Nisa both within walking distance and stocked full of the essentials you’ll need for a well-catered break. The nearest major supermarkets can be found in Evesham (20-minute drive), where an M&S Simply Food, Tesco Superstore, LIDL, ALDI, Morrisons and Co-Operative Food offer you plenty of choice when it comes to stocking up. If you fancy taking the hassle out of your stay completely, we recommend planning ahead with a grocery delivery; Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Morrisons all deliver to the cottage.
Things to Do Eating When it comes to eateries in Broadway you’re truly spoilt for choice, with a wide selection of independent cafés, restaurants and pubs to enjoy within walking distance of Box Cottage. For those in search of a real treat, Russell’s of Broadway is the ideal choice; a Michelin-guide favourite serving up sophisticated, modern British cuisine along Broadway’s high street. The renowned Lygon Arms, located just a few doors down from the cottage along the high street, is also a great choice for more formal evening meals, with the Lygon Bar & Grill offering a selection of locally-sourced dishes in a stunning Tudor dining room setting. For more laid-back all-day dining, Number 32 Broadway offers a fantastic menu spanning brunch- early supper, serving up a selection of light bites, pizzas and sharer-boards with a contemporary-cool feel. Russell’s Fish and Chips is also a must-visit for those in search of a slap-up meal with a distinctly refined feel courtesy of the team behind Russell’s of Broadway, as is Broadway Deli; a treasure-trove of local delicacies, fresh goodies and store-cupboard essentials, with a small café serving up daily breakfast, lunch and afternoon treats. No visit to Broadway would be complete without a jaunt up to the famed Dormy House, an award-winning boutique hotel with fantastic foodie credentials, with afternoon tea in The Garden Room a must for those in search of an elegant way to while away the hours. For afternoon tea with a more relaxed feel, look no further than The Tea Set – sister to its namesake tea room in Chipping Norton- located just off the high street. Walking The Cotswolds’ miles and miles of picturesque walking routes are on your doorstep here at Box Cottage, with The Cotswold Way running directly through Broadway itself to connect you to the likes of nearby Chipping Campden, Snowshill and Winchcombe, dependant on how far you’re willing to travel on foot. We’d recommend the brisk walk from Broadway’s High Street to Broadway Tower, designed in 1799 for the sixth Earl and Countess of Coventry, where your hard up-hill efforts are rewarded by magnificent views said to stretch to up to 12 counties wide. For those keen to continue their Cotswold explorations on foot, you can follow the Cotswold Way towards Snowshill on a 7-mile round trip, where the beautiful 15th century Snowshill Manor is well-worth a visit at the half-way point; as is a hard-earned rest stop at the Snowshill Arms. Must-Sees The north Cotswolds is crammed-full of attractions sure to keep visitors happy no matter what the weather, with Broadway itself full of must-sees within walking distance of Box Cottage. History-buffs will love The Broadway Museum and Art Gallery (5-minute walk), a community museum which tells the town’s history through art, as well as Broadway Tower (35-minute walk); a spectacular monument atop an ancient beacon site overlooking the town from its 65ft vantage point. The National Trust property Snowshill Manor is also just a 7-minute drive for those in search of a stately day out, whilst Batsford Arboretum (25-minute drive) offers a picturesque breath of fresh air amidst glorious woodland for those looking to stretch their legs. Slightly further afield, Cotswold Lavender (10-minute drive) is an absolute must during the warmer months with fields upon fields of vibrant purple lavender to explore, including a distillery where the lavender is harvested for essential oil each summer. Distillery fans will also love Cotswolds Distillery at Stourton (30-minute drive) where you can get hands-on with the intricacies of whisky and gin making; the perfect day-out for fans of a tipple or two. For younger guests, Broadway boasts its own Activity Park where hours of fun can be had playing in the great outdoors, with Cotswold Farm Park and Cotswold Wildlife Park just a 20-minute and 40-minute drive from Box Cottage respectively.

Weston Subedge, England, Великобритания

Weston sub Edge is a small village close to the start of the Cotswold Way, 20 minutes from the home of Shakespeare at Stratford Upon Avon, two miles from Chipping Campden and its Music and Literature Festivals, Broadway, Longborough Opera, Daylesford, National Trust properties such as Hidcote and Snowshill Manor. We are the ideal location for walking and exploring, so do bring your dog. Transport is essential as we are very rural and taxis and buses aren't always available.
This is a recently converted coach house. It originally housed the village's milk float, hence the name The Quart. We are on the edge of the quiet village of Weston sub Edge, just two miles from Chipping Campden which is where you will find the nearest shops although there is a pub, The Seagrave Arms the other end of the village, a short walk away. The Quart is a cosy, open plan home with a spacious kitchen/living room, a double bedroom and an ensuite shower room. There is room in the sitting room for a travel cot but no door between the bedroom and the sitting room. We are very rural and consequently wifi and mobile signals can be patchy. There is underfloor heating throughout and it is furnished and decorated to a high standard. The bedroom has a comfortable double bed with hanging space and shelves. The kitchen area is fully equipped with a double hob, oven with grill, kettle, toaster and fridge with ice compartment. The living area has a tv/dvd player and a comfortable sofabed with extra cushions and blankets. There are lots of books, dvds, walking guides and games for your entertainment as well as recommendations of places to eat and things to do.
The North Cotswolds is a very attractive area with lots to see and do locally. If you are keen on walking or cycling, there are a number of good and challenging routes around. The local towns are bursting with history and ripe for exploration. Chipping Campden marks the start (or finish) of The Cotswold Way and has a number of annual festivals including music and literature , and also hosts The Cotswold Olympicks. Broadway has a fantastic art scene and a brilliant deli. Stratford upon Avon and Cheltenham are 20 minutes away. Nearby National Trust properties include Dover's Hill, Hidcote Gardens, Snowshill and The Fleece Pub. This is a very foodie area and recommendations for local pubs and resaurants are listed in the welcome pack.

Take a day to walk to and from the fantastic Ebrington Arms, 5.5 miles away, which produces its own Yubby beer as well as serving delicious food. Follow the Cotswold Way fromteh Coach House (see below) to Chipping Campden and then take the Heart of England and the Diamond Way to Ebrington. Head to beautiful Dormy House on the Farncombe Estate, just above Broadway, and less than 2 miles from the Coach House. Here you can dine, have afternoon tea, or enjoy a pint and a snack, all in a fabulous setting. Guests can step out of the front door, cross the fields on public footpath and join the 102-mile long Cotswold Way at Dover’s Hill. Just up the hill is St Nicolas’ Church, a medieval church with a tall and slender spire that can be seen from all around. The church sundial dates back to the eleventh century and Arts and Crafts movement enthusiasts will be interested in features from the early 20th Century, including the chancel and north chapel ceilings; the north chapel screen (c 1904 by Ernest Gimson); the north chapel reredos (c 1920 by Alec Miller) and the Chancel chandelier (1911 by Charles Ashbee). Open by appointment. Please contact the owner of the Coach House for details. Less than a mile down the hill from the Coach House is Saintbury Brocante, a vintage/antique shop in a rural setting with a tea shop serving cakes and snacks. Exploring Further Afield Just down the Cotswold escarpment from the Coach House, is Evesham and the Vale of Evesham - a great place to visit during asparagus season (mid-April to early June). Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare and the home of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and adjacent Swan Theatre, is only 13 miles away and the renowned Daylesford Organic Farm is an easy 14-mile journey. Local Food Shops The closest food shops are in Chipping Campden, just a 7-minute drive from the Coach House. On the town’s High Street, you’ll find a well-stocked Co-Operative Food. In Broadway (4 miles away) there is a Warner’s Budgens and Nisa, whilst Evesham (8 miles) is closest for major supermarkets, including an M&S Simply Food, Waitrose, Tesco Superstore, LIDL, ALDI, Morrisons and Co-Operative Food. Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Morrisons all deliver to the Coach House.

This one bedroom cottage is discreetly located in the heart of the Cotswold village of Broadway, offering privacy and tranquillity, with easy access to the centre of the village just a minute’s walk from the front door.
Having undergone a full-scale reconstruction in 2018, Lily Rose Cottage has been sympathetically restored with remarkable attention to detail and to an uncompromising technological specification. The master bedroom comes fully equipped with Super King sized bed and leads to the bathroom which showcases a stunning freestanding stone bath, spacious shower and Corian topped sink unit. Outside an elegant courtyard area provides a gorgeous suntrap to enjoy in the warmer months. It is fully furnished with a gas fired barbecue and cast iron garden furniture.
The beautiful and historic Cotswold village of Broadway is a memorable place to stay and a perfect base from which to tour the local area and enjoy the stunning walks. The pretty High Street is lined with horse chestnut trees and includes a mixture of period houses and picturesque honey coloured Cotswold stone cottages which have lured visitors for centuries.

A spacious, 4-bedroom barn conversion with spectacular countryside views, perfect for families looking for a peaceful escape to the country. Tucked away on family-owned farmland in the heart of the sleepy Cotswold village of Weston-sub-Edge, Field House Cottage is a roomy barn-conversion with bags of character, offering an idyllic rustic hideaway for families or groups looking for plenty of space and seclusion.
This comfortable family holiday property sets in peaceful seclusion, with superb views of fields and nearby wooded hills, yet is only 10 miles from Stratford. Just 3 miles from Broadway in peaceful seclusion, with superb views of fields and nearby wooded hills, this lovely, idyllic old Cotswold-stone barn has been transformed into a spacious, comfortable family home. Hidcote Manor Garden nearby. Golf 2 miles. Cheltenham races, 18 miles. Chipping Campden 1½ miles. Stratford 10 miles. Golf available nearby. Shops 1½ miles, pub 1 mile and restaurant within ½ mile. Superb, large, beamed living room with wood-burning stove and dining area with ceramic-tiled floor. Well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen with quarry-tiled floor. Twin bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. First floor: Double bedroom leading to twin bedroom with sloping ceiling. Second double bedroom. Bathroom with shower cubicle and toilet. Wood-burning stove – logs included. Gas central heating included (by meter reading November-March). Electricity and bed linen included. Cot. High chair. TV. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Large secure garden and terrace with furniture. Parking. No smoking. Ground floor facilities. Couples and family bookings only.
Chipping Campden is quite simply one of the finest towns in the Cotswolds – well preserved and full of history but also full of life and bustle. Its elegant High Street is a delight, described by the historian, G.M. Trevelyan, as “the most beautiful village street now left in the island”: a broad gentle curve flanked on either side by an unbroken sweep of buildings covering a host of architectural styles with buildings dating back to the 14th century. In the centre of the High Street stands the iconic Market Hall, now in the care and ownership of the National Trust, and built in 1627 by Sir Baptist Hicks to provide shelter for traders selling perishable goods like cheese and butter or precious goods like silks. The paving stones have been worn away by hundreds of years of busy trade – and it’s all too easy to imagine the noise and bustle of traders long ago. Sir Baptist Hicks was a very wealthy silk merchant and vast and extravagant 17th century monuments to him and his family can be found in the town’s church. St James Church, the town’s most visible landmark, is one of the greates ‘wool’ churches in the Cotswolds, built with money from the flourishing medieval wool trade. It is famous for having one of the oldest altar tapestries and largest brasses in England. In 1613, the newly enriched Sir Baptist Hicks began work on a splendid new house in Chipping Campden with equally fashionable formal gardens. Unfortunately not long after its completion it was burnt to the ground by retreating Royalist soldiers during the Civil War and little remains - two pepperpot lodges framing the gateway beside the church, and two exceptional Jacobean banqueting houses, which can be rented through the Landmark Trust. The Court Barn Museum in the town tells the story of craft and design in the Cotswolds. C R Ashbee brought the Guild of Handicraft to the Old Silk Mill in the town in 1902. Unfortunately it did not prosper and in 1908 many artists had returned to London. However some stayed on, and the Hart family, descendants of George Hart, still have their workshops in the Old Silk Mill today. The town has a lively calendar of events, including the famous Cotswold Olimpicks, founded in the 17th century by Captain Robert Dover and still celebrated every year - a bizarre mix of sports, games and village festivities. Chipping Campden has no shortage of excellent places to eat, drink and stay in with some excellent Cotswold hotels, pubs and B&Bs, as well as plenty of holiday cottages to rent. Chipping Campden makes an excellent base for a holiday, with a number of notable gardens, including Hidcote and Kiftsgate, nearby and with wonderful walks in the area, including the 104 mile Cotswold Way, which starts in the town and follows the escarpment all the way to Bath.

Introduction Hidden within a farm on the outskirts of the sleepy Cotswold village of Weston-sub-Edge lies Sundial Cottage; a traditional farmhouse escape for up to four guests, named in honour of the unique sundial sitting proudly above the front door. Step inside the stable oak doorway and you immediately get a feel of the cottage’s history thanks to the lovely selection of original and traditional features that are thoughtfully placed throughout the property. Oak beams adorn the ceilings, exposed Cotswold stone lines the ground floor walls and the floors are traditionally tiled; this really is a property bursting with old-world charm. Sleeping up to four guests across two well-appointed bedrooms, this is a cottage for those in search of a taste of Cotswold farming life, with working stables and a busy farm sitting directly across the courtyard from its front door. With a small, enclosed lawned garden and perfectly petite outdoor dining patio, it’s great for those who want privacy without the feeling of seclusion - the buzzing market town of Chipping Campden just a 5-minute drive away! This cottage is also great for larger parties when booked alongside its sister properties, Field House and Milliner’s Barn, just a short walk down the road, with the total of all three properties sleeping 14+2. Full Description Downstairs Entrance An impressive oak stable door acts as the welcoming entrance point to Sundial Cottage, a real nod to the history of the property and its time as a working farm home. As soon as you arrive, the cottage’s rustic charm is evident! The Kitchen To the left of Sundial Cottage’s entrance hall lies the charming farmhouse-style kitchen. Spacious and well-equipped for catering, rustic pine units afford the space a genuine country feel, whilst the exposed Cotswold stone wall and beams lining the ceiling add to the rustic charm. At one end sits a dining table for up to four guests, plus high chair should you need, whilst at the other a window allows the kitchen plenty of natural light and is also the perfect viewing spot to observe the daily running of the farm! Living Room To the right of the entrance hall is the living room. In this room the cottage’s history can really be felt. Dual aspect windows overlooking the farmyard to the front and greenery to the rear give this room a bright and airy feel, while also boasting original cosy features such as low beamed ceilings, large stone fireplace with gas fire and an elegant, Edwardian-style patterned carpet. You’ll also find a TV and plenty of cosy seating - making it the ideal spot to unwind in no matter what the weather is doing outside. Downstairs WC A handy addition to the cottage is the downstairs WC, tucked to the left of the entrance hall as you step through the door. Upstairs Head upstairs and you’ll find the cottage’s two bedrooms and family bathroom, all boasting the same Cotswold country charm of the property’s downstairs living spaces. Bedroom 1 Bedroom 1 is the master bedroom, delicately furnished to offer an olde worlde charm with plenty of contemporary comforts. Decorated in an attractive palette of country creams, in here you’ll find a 5ft bed, built-in wardrobe, dresser and handy seating area with coffee table. Curious souls will love discovering the secret outdoor staircase leading from the bedroom through a private glass doorway along the cottage’s exterior; great for views of the garden and surrounding farmland, plus easy garden access for lovers of the great outdoors! Bedroom 2 Opposite Bedroom 1 sits Bedroom 2, a spacious twin that’s great for kids or adults who don’t mind sharing a room! Furnished with twin beds (which could be pushed together should you prefer), the room benefits from a wardrobe, dresser and views over the shared courtyard; perfect for little ones who want to watch the farmyard activity! Family Bathroom Sat between the two bedrooms is the cottage’s main bathroom. Traditional in style, you’ll find a bath with full-height overhead shower, toilet and basin, plus pretty green floral tiling which gives it a charming country feel. Outside To the side of the cottage you’ll find its own private enclosed garden, a spacious, lawned area with patio complete with outdoor dining furniture, ideal for those wanting to make the most of the charcoal BBQ. Enclosed by wooden fencing yet easily accessible from the cottage’s front door, and younger guests will be free to stretch their legs to their heart’s content here, with the suntrap patio offering a great spot for adults to enjoy a drink or two in the great outdoors.

On the town’s High Street, you’ll find a well-stocked Co-Operative Food, well-equipped with the basic groceries that you’ll need during your stay. For those in search of something a little more special, Fillet & Bone, also situated on the High Street, offers beautiful artisan produce sourced from across the Cotswolds. The Granary was refurbished in Sept 2012, previously being a store for the village Grocery. It is a one bedroom cottage/coach house with en-suite bathroom, living room, small kitchen and with large private garden for relaxing on warm evenings after returning from your days out. The cottage has double bed and is fully centrally heated(always warm), has TV(Freeview) and en-suite shower. Car parking for one car is at the front of the main Bay House. Situated on Upper High Street, Broadway, and is minutes walk from the centre of Broadway, which comprises several restaurants, of high standard, pubs and shops. The cottages' location provides a peaceful retreat but very easy access to the main centre with walks up the upper high street and further to Broadway Tower. Broadway is one of the most picturesque villages in England. It is also within easy reach of the rest of the Cotswolds, Cheltenham, Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh, Bourton-on-the-water and further to Warwick and Stratford. The cottage is part of “Bay House” and sits behind “The Old House” and "The Old Grocery". Access is via “Rams Alley” to the left of “Bay House”. The name "Rams alley" conjures up images of past times. "The Old Grocery”, part of the main house, served the village from the mid 1800's through to the 1980s. The Granary was the original store house for the grocery and often stored barrels of Guinness. Unfortunately no longer! The Granary has been lovingly refurbished to give you a very comfortable holiday. On return from a day visiting there is no better place in England than to relax in a cottage in the middle of Broadway. Or on an evening wander though the village to one of the local pubs or restaurants, to later return up the quiet beautiful high street.
Property is on three levels. Entry is into the living room with steps down into a small kitchen comprising of sink and drainer, fridge(with freezer compartment), cooker, microwave and electric central radiator. Living room with wooden flooring and rug, has two seater leather settee and foot rest, table with two chairs, TV Freeview with combi DVD player. Central heating electric radiator. Carpeted stairs lead to mid-level landing giving access to en-suite bathroom (Shower). A further 4 steps up to double bedroom. The bedroom has hanging space for clothes, chest-of drawers, bedside cabinets and clock radio. Parking is on the main road directly in front of Bay House. Garden area is large and private (Not shared).

The Cotswold Hound is a newly built, beautifully furnished mews house at the end of 3, a short five minute walk to the centre of the stunning village of Broadway. The pictures really don't do it justice - You’ll love it because it's a cosy retreat at the end of the day, but with all the mod cons like underfloor heating, while still only a 5 minute stroll away from the centre or the other way to the steam railway station and it's ideal for couples, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
The Cotswold Hound, (named after the North Cotswold Hunt hounds who are housed in Kennel Lane in the centre of Broadway), is a cosy, newly built house with the benefit of a brand new kitchen, bathroom, ensuite and full underfloor heating on the ground floor, (lovely on your tootsies after a hard days walking - either round the shops or on the hills!)! Built over 2 floors of honey coloured Cotswold stone it is a calm and peaceful sanctuary from the bustle of the village itself, but is about as close as you can get without being on the green, (and out of earshot of those hounds I mentioned - they are very vocal very early!!) The french doors lead out in to the garden which is a little sun trap, great for breakfast, BBQ and any meal in between. A BBQ is provided in the summer so just bring your own coal. There is a large bath to relax in after a hard days holidaying so make sure to bring some bubbles along - the bath and the glass variety! Air BnB say to class two loo's as a second bathroom, but there is actually a family bathroom, an en suite and a loo and sink on the ground floor.
Broadway itself is variously described as the Jewel of the Cotswolds and the quintessential English village. It is stunningly beautiful, even in rain and there is no shortage of things to do from fine dining to pub grub, steam train rides to bike rides, spa treatments to rambling it really does have something for everyone. At The Hound your furry friends are also welcome to come along; as animal lovers we know how frustrating it is not to be able to go somewhere with pets who are members of the family. All we ask is that for the comfort all guests they are kept off the furniture and down stairs where there are easily cleaned (and snuggly warm) floors.

Weston Sub Edge Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire, Великобритания

Barndown is a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom, 19th Century cottage in the heart of Cotswold walking country. Surrounded by farmland, on a quiet country road, Barndown is in the ancient village of Weston Subedge in walking distance of a popular pub and a village bar, and just 5-minutes’ drive from Chipping Campden - one of the Cotswolds’ most charming towns. Barndown has a private garden and patio with BBQ, plus off-road parking for 2 to 3 cars. Perfect for walkers and as a base for exploring.
This typical Cotswold stone property was built in the late 1800s as the village Reading Room, and somewhat resembles a small chapel. The opening was described in the original village’s monthly Gazette as follows: “The Reading Room is now open for the use of men and working lads of the village and it is hoped all will do their best to keep good order, and as much quiet as possible. Lads who do not go to work are not allowed the use of the room”. The outside, with its lead-pane windows and porched doorway has changed little in the intervening years. Inside, the cottage’s original features, including a stone fireplace and exposed timbers, have been preserved, making this cottage a cosy retreat, surrounded by farmland, in a very pretty village. Outside, Barndown has a wraparound garden with a lawn and planted borders and a patio to the side of the kitchen, where guests will find a table and seating perfect for al fresco dining. Adjacent to the cottage is a large, gravelled parking area, suitable for 2 to 3 cars. Guests enter Barndown through the farmhouse-style kitchen-diner, which leads into a hallway and on to the cosy living room, with views out to the surrounding farmland. Stairs lead up to two double bedrooms (one king-size, the other twin) and a family bathroom with a bath and over-bath shower, WC and sink. Weston Subedge (also written as Weston-sub-Edge), was first recorded in the Domesday Book. It is a small village with about 180 homes, many dating back to the 16th and 17th century, lying between the Vale of Evesham and the Cotswold town of Chipping Campden. It sits at the foot of beautiful Dover’s Hill (hence ‘sub Edge’), itself named after Robert Dover, famed for the Cotswold ‘Olympick’ Games that have been held locally since 1612. Part of the Cotswold Way - the 102-mile long-distance national footpath – runs through Dover’s Hill, making Weston Subedge and Barndown an ideal place for walkers to base themselves.
Local amenities For drinks and a bite to eat, there are two choices in the village: the Seagrave Arms and the Village Bar in the Village Hall - both within easy walking distance of Barndown (less than one mile. The Seagrave Arms is an award-winning inn serving up tasty all-day dining options. It has a pretty beer garden, offering the perfect spot for a relaxing drink after a busy day exploring the Cotswolds. The 'Village Bar' is in the village’s 15th Century coaching house and is open from Thursday to Sunday, serving a wide choice of pub food at very reasonable prices (a menu is on Barndown’s kitchen noticeboard). The nearest shops can be found in Chipping Campden, just a 5-minute drive from Barndown. On the town’s High Street, you’ll find a well-stocked Co-Operative Food, well-equipped for the basic grocery amenities that you’ll need during your stay. For those in search of something a little special, Fillet & Bone (also situated on the High Street), offers beautiful artisan produce sourced from across the Cotswolds, including rare-breed meat, seasonal vegetables, fresh breads, charcuterie and freshly baked cakes and patisserie. Nearby Broadway (a 10-minute drive) offers a Warner’s Budgens and Nisa, whilst Evesham (25-minute drive) is the closest town for major supermarkets with an M&S Simply Food, Tesco Superstore, LIDL, ALDI, Morrisons and Co-Operative Food. If you would like to save time and take the hassle out of your stay, we recommend planning ahead with a grocery delivery; Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Morrisons all deliver to Barndown, but please note you must be at the property when the order is delivered - we are not able to accept deliveries for you. Chipping Campden is quite simply one of the finest towns in the Cotswolds – well preserved and full of history, but also full of life and bustle. It has several notable gardens, including Hidcote and Kiftsgate, nearby and wonderful walks in the area, including the 104-mile Cotswold Way, which starts in the town and follows the escarpment all the way to Bath. The town has a lively calendar of events, including the famous Cotswold Olimpicks, founded in the 17th century by Captain Robert Dover and still celebrated every year - a bizarre mix of sports, games and village festivities. See the ‘Guidebook’ below for lots more information about Chipping Campden and things to do for all ages of visitors.
