Kerensa is our small, but perfectly formed little cabin. Sit under the stars in the romantic wood burning hot tub with a glass of prosecco. This cosy cabin sleeps 2, with a small kitchen area, table for two and a toilet and shower room. Kerensa cabin is the first of our very small holiday cabin village, we will have four cabins in total, and there may be an opportunity for friends and family to hire out the entire place in the future!
We are based on a small working farm with our own animals and lots of space and fantastic views to relax and take in. The cabin is cosy and equipped, ideal for a romantic break away for two. *please note we are based on a working farm with some farm machinery, animals and sometimes work on the farm being done.* For an extra touch of luxury, you can even book a pampering massage or facial treatment to leave you rejuvenated and totally relaxed. I am a qualified massage therapist and set up spa parties within the cabin on a part time basis. For a discounted price, you can treat yourself or a loved one to a treatment within the cabin. Please enquire in advance. We can also set up a vintage style Cream tea for two. For just £4 per person you can treat yourself to a homemade scone, Cornish clotted cream and locally homemade jam, and of course, a 'proper' Cornish pot of tea. All of this will be laid out with vintage tea cups and traditional china. Please enquire in advance.
St Gennys is a small parish just above the quaint little seaside village of Crackington Haven. With a picturesque sandy/stony little cove, perfect for swimming and body boarding. There is also beach cafes and a friendly local pub. You can also get onto the Coastal Path from here.

Escape to the beautiful wilderness of the North Cornish coast, close to Port Isaac & Polzeath. Stay in a handcrafted shepherd's hut with curved ash beams & Salamander wood burner on a converted railway line. Relax in your own private hot tub with only the local cows for company. Or explore the nearby woods, go swimming, fishing & boating on the magical freshwater lake. A perfect break for couples or a solo traveller wanting to unwind. For updates check "Free Range Escapes" on social media
The shepherd's hut is based at Cornish Tipi Holidays/Weddings also known as Tregildrans Quarry and this is our beautiful second hut at this unique site. Both huts have their own individual character, the biggest difference is that Bluebell hut has its own wood fired couples hot tub - perfect for relaxing in style in the great outdoors. The site has a woodland valley folded around a clear, spring-fed lake created from the old quarry. The hut is at the top of a secret 20 acres clothed in ferns and bluebells, oak and meadowsweet. Undisturbed by modern agrochemicals and herbicides the natural ecosystem has flourished, providing a thriving habitat for flowers and butterflies, birds and mammals. It’s a place a world apart from the rush and clutter of the modern holiday experience, with an atmosphere that makes you forget the world outside, and just lounge, ramble, or potter about in a boat. The Shepherd's Hut itself is situated in a recently reclaimed part of the site on the old railway line which was taken out in the 60's, reclaimed by nature until now! Guests will have full access to the whole site & all its faculties. 20 acres of woodland to explore and a freshwater lake to swim, boat and fish in. As well as your own secluded garden space complete with an open fire and garden furniture & couples wood fired hot tub. The shepherds hut has its own private compositing loo and wooden shower shed (made partly from pallets) both outside. You are of course allowed full access to any of the other loo/shower blocks on site. There is also electricity!! Solar powered lights & USB sockets make it easy to charge items or read a book after the sun goes down. However please be aware that there are not any standard plug sockets in the hut. The aim is to have created a space which makes you feel like you are out in nature & the elements but with more comfort than basic camping.
At Free Range Escapes you are a five minute drive from some of the prettiest villages and most spectacular coastline in Cornwall. You can buy fresh mackerel, scallops and crab in the fish cellars at Port Isaac within 10 minutes of leaving your Shepherd's Hut, go sea kayaking under soaring cliffs at Port Quin or take a surfing class on Polzeath’s trend setting shoreline. We have some phenomenal walking right on our doorstep; the Cornwall Coastal Footpath, the Saints’ Way, but unfortunately a car is still usually needed to get you there. 15 minutes up the coast brings you to Tintagel Castle and the ancient village of Boscastle, and the same distance inland lets you walk the rugged solitude of Bodmin Moor. We have a variety of good shops, pubs and restaurants in the area including the now nationally famous Seafood Restaurant in Padstow – book a return with the late water taxi across the moonlit estuary from Rock for a special evening out. You can go on fishing trips, bird watching walks, sea safaris, sailing and windsurfing courses, learn to ride, golf, play tennis, see a touring theatre production, work in watercolours, take a master class in seafood cookery, explore Cornish history, attend a music or literary festival, or just go cycling together on the beaufiful Camel Trail nearby. If you’re prepared to go a little further afield try a day trip by tiny plane to the glorious Isles of Scilly off Land’s End, or a trip to the Minack Theatre set outside on the cliffs high above Porthcurno, or closer by visit the massive biodomes of the ever popular Eden Project.

The Weekender is a contemporary space,38sqm with stunning views all round step through the door and relax. The decor is stylish, comfortable, a beautiful haven to sit and contemplate the breathtaking surroundings from. Described by a recent guest as "The most beautiful small space they'd ever stayed in" It can be difficult to do anything here other than unwind. But if you can drag yourself away from this little gem it's a great place to explore North Cornwall's diverse delights from.
The Weekender really is a delight, tucked away with views that will take your breath away. My clever husband built this little beauty last year and it evolved into something unique. With our skills and experience in various design projects we have created something we feel is very special. The interior is both cosy but spacious and is filled with lovely finishes that give a high quality and a fabulous feel. It is a very romantic hideaway - ideal for couples. It can be hard to leave to explore the area as it is possible to just sit for hours and and enjoy the space.
Crackington Haven lies in the Parish of St Gennys in North Cornwall. It is a wonderful escape from the hectic side of life. If you don't feel like venturing too far then there are wonderful short and long walks right outside the door. The Weekender sits right on the Southwest coast path - arguably - on one of the most beautiful and dramatic parts of the coast both North and South right here. Crackington has 2 cafes and a good pub - eat and drink overloooking the beautiful beach and giant cliffs. There is a good local shop / PO and a garage just 3 miles from here where you can purchase most things to keep you going! Bude is just 10 miles from The Weekender which is a lovely seaside town with some good shops to wander around and plenty of cafes. Boscastle and Tintagel are approx 6/7 miles south of Crackington offering picturesque harbours, castles and villages. Port Isaac (Port Wenn) is approx 40 mins drive where the popular Doc Martin is filmed - you can wander the tiny streets and recognise your favourite bits! Padstow and Rock are fairly close by with Rick Stein's delicious Fish and chips being the first port of call especially if you've cycled the Camel Trail from Wadebridge or beyond. Further afield are many places to explore The Eden project is about an hours drive and well worth a visit. Closer to home on the edge of Bodmin Moor are Roughtor and Brown Willy- 2 fabulous walks / scrambles with beautiful granite features to admire. Roughtor car park is just a 25 min drive from The Weekender it can be hard to tear yourself away but it's definitely worth the effort.

The Beach House Studio, is in the perfect private location next to the Beach, it's a 2 minute walk to a surf spot, or to a great pub or one of the 2 cafes where you can enjoy the sun going down on the Atlantic coastline. The Room has an amazing view and you can hear and smell the salty sea. The owners live next door but do not intrude on your space or privacy Stuart is a teacher and an artist, and Selina who has an eye for detail and style, works locally.
The Beach House studio is a self contained studio room (self catering )with private access and (URL HIDDEN) is in an elevated position overlooking Crackington Haven Beach, with sea views from every window that are breath taking. The sun sets over the sea in summer months and the bay has a surrounding atmosphere and light that attracts many artists to Cornwall. The studio has a compact ensuite shower room with loo and small basic kitchenette area with kettle, microwave and fridge(tea coffee and milk are provided) There is also an electric ‘looky likey’ woodburning stove and a cosy 2 Seater sofa.
Crackington Haven is an area of outstanding natural beauty nestled between 2 stunning coast paths. You could catch a bus along the coastal road and enjoy walking the coast path home, where you will discover secluded valleys remote beaches, ancient woodlands and rare birds and beautiful scenery. As previously mentioned we are lucky to have a vibrant local pub that serves great food alongside 2 excellent cafes, that are open all day long, for breakfast, lunch, dinner all of which have sea views. There is also a tennis court adjacent to and overlooking the sea Crackington is perfect for Surfing, and is known for its amazing waves;(surf lessons may be booked in advance) Also great for fishing, swimming,or simply sitting and reading. The beach is recommended by the marine conservation society and is listed in its good beach guide There is a well stocked friendly post office and shop nearby at Wainhouse Corner and we also strongly recommend a visit to the Boscastle farm shop for provisions or a delicious meal.

This impressive period house has beautiful views of the Valency valley and the river leading through the centre of Boscastle. Set back from the coast path this property gives a lovely feeling of privacy while still being in the centre of this famous picturesque village, and the raised garden has majestic views of the harbour.

The Elizabethan harbour of Boscastle is famous for the floods of 2004 which devastated the village now it is once again picture perfect with a delightful selection of gift shops, public houses, cafes, restaurants and hotels. Boscastle has one of the most outstanding sections of the coast path with majestic promontories, crashing surf, secluded coves and long beaches with soft, golden sand. The stunning towns of Port Isaac, Rock and Padstow are a short drive to the west and are well worth a trip. There is one beautiful shower room at the property, but there is no bathroom. Boscastle is a tiny port set in a narrow ravine, the town came into prominence recently as a result of terrible floods in the summer of 2004. In the village there is a pottery, a museum of witchcraft and several gift shops. A footpath to the left of the quayside will take you to the 'Lookout' which is a wonderful vantage point from which to view the rugged coastline. Boscastle was once a favourite meeting place of the author Thomas Hardy, and is the location for one of his novels 'A Pair of Blue Eyes'. Boat trips can be taken from the harbour as far as Long Island, where during the breeding season you may see razorbills, puffins & guillemots. There is a demanding 7 mile coastal path walk between Boscastle and Crackington Haven. There are several attractions along this stretch of coast including Strangles beach at the bottom of a large landslip with a rock arch the Northern Door. Just south of here is High Cliff which is the highest point on the Cornish coast path. Don't forget to visit Pentargon inlet which has an imposing waterfall that cascades down to the sea below. Trethevy is a delightful hamlet, equidistant from Boscastle and Tintagel and has a history which may well go back to 250 AD when a granite post was inscribed with C DOMI N GALLO ET VOLUS – ‘For the Emperor Caesars our lords Gallus and Volusian’ this can now be found outside St Piran a former monastery and now private residence, Trethevy is also home to St Nectans Glen a beautiful valley where the River Trevillet has carved its way through the slate and formed a beautiful 60' waterfall. On Bodmin Moor, Dozmary pond is thought to contain Arthur's Excalibur, and Merlin is thought to be still found walking under Tintagel Island. Camelford is a great centre for touring, walking, fishing, swimming or surfing holidays. The town is steeped in history and has excellent shopping and sporting facilities. Port Isaac is the location of the televisions series Poldark and more recently Doc Martin, as well as being a gorgeous working fishing village. Bodmin Jail built in 1778, notorious for its public executions by hanging, was the first jail to be built housing inmates in individual cells. The Jail closed in 1927 and is now a museum open to the public, which during the First World War housed the Crown Jewels and the Doomsday Book. The famous Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths for 18 miles, providing the whole family with a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge, and out to Padstow where you can sample Rick Steins famous Fish and Chips. The market town of Launceston is the capital of Cornwall and well worth a visit to see the church of St Mary Magdelene, with granite carvings, unusual among Cornish churches.

Self contained detached apartment with spectacular views over the north Cornish coast. The flat offers all the amenities for self catering. It is a few minutes walk from the coast path and down to the harbour at Boscastle. Pub and convenience shop close by with other shops and restaurants in the village. Well behaved dogs welcome. Separate space available for drying wet gear, boots and dogs! Lovely garden and spectacular sunsets over the sea.
The apartment is totally self contained with a double bedroom, open plan kitchen and sitting room with a double sofa bed* and a bathroom. As it is self-catering, the kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, microwave, full size cooker , toaster and electric kettle. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it which appears small but has good water pressure offering a decent shower. *The apartment is set up for two people to share the double bed, however, if you wish to use the sofa bed as well as the double bed, please let me know when you book. There is a small additional fee for the extra laundry of £10.00. Additional people can be accommodated for an extra fee. We are happy to welcome your dog and have a large garden space for you to use for yourselves and your dog - the sunsets are often spectacular and can be easily viewed from the garden seating. We have a space below the apartment for drying off wet clothing and for drying off dogs. You are welcome to use this to leave walking boots and other equipment such as surf boards. There is also freezer which can be used at your request. We are adjacent to the footpath leading over the hill to St Nectan's Glen and onwards to Rocky Valley. Our location is ideal also for quick access via a footpath and across one road to the coastal path. There are bus stops close by for buses to Tintagel, Bude and Wadebridge. Paradise Road is a quiet small road it is lit by street lights at both ends and we provide a wind up torch for the middle part in case you decide to go out in the evening. The walk to the harbour is very pretty - just along this road and down the old High Street, passing by many typical Cornish properties and winding down the the harbour.
We overlook the sea and the Lookout point which is a feature of the North Cornish coast. There is a good view of the Church and parts of the village. Our main enjoyment is the short walk to the cliff top at Forrabury and the walks around the "stitches" which overlook the harbour and from there you can walk to the village. Behind us are fields with livestock and views across towards Bude and on a clear day Lundy Island. We are close to a convenience shop which although small has a very good selection of fresh goods and speciality foods. Our nearest pub which offers food all year round is a short walk along Paradise Road with many other eating places in the village and harbour area.

NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYONE WITH MOBILITY/FITNESS ISSUES From Old Road through garden to self contained unit within our cottage. 2 minute walk to harbour and village. Kitchen/sitting room with electric woodburner. Spiral staircase leading to bedroom with ensuite loo/shower (macerater). A quiet and peaceful little pad set back from the village, just the sound of the Jordan river below, the owls in the wood opposite will serenade you at night and the song birds will be singing away in the morning
PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE A LOT OF STEEP, IRREGULAR, WOBBLY SOMETIMES SLIPPERY STEPS FROM THE ROAD TO THE DOOR. ANYONE WITH SIGHT AND OR MOBILITY ISSUES MAY FIND THESE TOO DIFFICULT. THE PATH IS DARK AT NIGHT AND IN WINTER. INSIDE (WHICH WE HAVE SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS) IS A SPIRAL STAIRCASE WHICH AGAIN IS NARROW AND NOT IDEAL FOR EVERYONE. However! Tastefully and lovingly converted first two floors of our 250 year old cottage. A perfect bolthole to give guests private and cosy accommodation to relax in after a hard day on the beach or wandering around the harbour. . The en suite shower cubicle is a good, standard size, the shower room/area itself is rather 'compact' and due to this the basin is tiny (!) its the only one we could get to fit and only really big enough for tooth brushing and hand washing but thats about it. We sometimes use the steps past the entrance door ourselves to get to and from the village but we do our absolute best to respect guests privacy. PLEASE NOTE due to our location (you'll see why when you get here) there is no radio or TV signal (believe me we have tried) so bring a laptop as the WiFi is excellent! Most guests appreciate the peace and quiet. Please note check out is strictly 10am.
Boscastle is very friendly and great fun. Pretty much zero crime. The beautiful coastal footpath that goes right around the Cornish coast is on the doorstep. In winter walking across a wild, windswept, deserted Cornish beach is one of the best things in the world to do, likewise when the sun shines, the temperature rises and the water is sparkling clear, its heaven. A stroll round the harbour is a must, see the famous blowhole, beautiful sea birds, the fishing boats going in and out on the tide and more often than not the seals put in an appearance too!

Quirky stone built cottage set overlooking the village of Boscastle in North Cornwall. The cottage is a short walk away from the medieval Stitches and the Cornish Costal path on which you can walk westwards to Tintagel, Port Isaac etc or eastwards to Crackington, Widemouth Bay, Bude etc. The cottage has its own patio area with table and chairs, a small lawn to the side with washing line and off road parking space for one car. Neighbours are close by but not intrusive.
Gard Cottage boasts views over the village of Boscastle but sits at the top of the village slightly off the tourist routes so enjoys a quiet location and an undisturbed peaceful retreat. This unspoilt area of the North Cornwall Coast boasts spectacular views and unrivalled chances to sea seals basking on the sands and seabirds aplenty. Walks of all levels of ability are abound and of course the village houses the world famous Museum of Witchcraft and Magic. Other nearby attractions include St Nectans Glen, Tintagel and its castle, Bodmin Gaol and Bude, with its 2 fantastic beaches and the recently built canal walkways. Nearby is Port Isaac where the TV series Doc Martin is filmed and slightly further afield you can visit Charlestown and many other locations from the recent Poldark TV series. The county is also home to the world famous Eden Project, old tin mines, the Minack Theatre and so many wonderful coves and beaches that you'll be spoilt for choice as to where to spend your time.
Boscastle is a lovely village and the locals form a tight knit community who look out for eachother. All visitors are welcomed into the village and greeted warmly.

Quirky, cute and with bags of history, Lynhay dates back to the 1600’s and has the additional distinction of once being a much-loved village pub, the Boscastle Arms. Today this lovely cottage has three bedrooms - two double, one with bunk beds - an integrated kitchen and cosy living space with log burner and a lovely sunny courtyard garden. A ten minute walk downhill leads you to Boscastle village with its stunning harbour, whilst a one minute walk uphill takes you to a local dining pub.
The property retains a number of quirky and charming original features from 500 years ago. This includes the original beams throughout, slate floor downstairs, a ‘smugglers lookout’ window, a salting trough, and a very unusual hobbit door. In terms of more modern facilities, the living area has an integrated kitchen, with electric oven and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, and fridge/freezer. The shower room has a walk in shower. There is a HD TV with an integrated Netflix account set up for exclusive guest use, a portable Bose Bluetooth speaker should you wish to listen to music, and a digital radio. The property uses ultra fast fibre broadband so watching films and streaming music should not be any problem. There is a modern electric radiator heating system in each room - this should ensure that it is never too hot, or too cold. The radiators are set remotely, but can be also turned up or down in the cottage. To stay snug in the lounge, there is log burning stove and a supply of wood. Each room also has an electric fan heater, should the weather drop toward freezing. Outside the property, there is a courtyard garden with a view over hills to the back. Guests have exclusive use of the garden, and the Weber kettle charcoal BBQ. Inside the outhouse there is a washing machine which guests can use for free and a clothes airer. Surfboards may also be stored in here. One small thing to remember is that the property is 500 years old, so you will need to duck through a couple of doorways. The Napoleon Inn is our favourite pub in the village, and luckily it is only one minute walk away up the hill. It has a great range of traditional Cornish ale and cider, and a good selection of reasonably priced wines and spirits. Other pubs in the village toward the harbour include the Cobweb Inn, and the Wellington. The Wellington has particularly good food and is a favourite of guests.
Reasons to visit Boscastle: * The distinctive natural harbour. * Beautiful surrounding countryside and coastline, including the South West Coastal path. * Museum of Witchcraft * Associated with authors and artists, including Thomas Hardy, who was inspired by its remoteness and rugged beauty. * Abundant in wildlife, dramatic walks and historic features. * Great potteries, pubs, and art galleries. Things to do in Boscastle: The landscape, coastline and quaint old buildings are undoubtedly the biggest attraction of the local area. These are made all the more interesting with local potteries, art galleries and the Museum of Witchcraft. Also nearby is sacred site St Nectan’s Glen where the River Trevillet has created a magnificent 60 foot waterfall cascading into a beautiful valley. The area also has a number of gorgeous churches, most dating from Norman times and there are plenty of good walks into the beautiful countryside that start in the village. Surfing and beaches Boscastle has a small beach at low tide. Good for swimming. Bosinney Cove is a great surfing beach and five mins drive from the cottage. There are no lifeguards, and this is a beach to use outside of high tide. There is a 10 min walk down a track to get there. Crackington Haven is close - 10 mins drive - and has great surf, a decent beach at low tide, rock pools, caves and lifeguards. There are a couple of good cafes, a great pub, and parking is usually ok. Polzeath. A massive beach, with amazing surf, and lots of walks along the coastal path. Get there early. 20 mins drive away. As this is close to Rock (a posh spot) the cafes and pubs are a bit more expensive. Save money by taking a packed lunch with you, get there early and enjoy the beach. Low tide is best. Walking Following in the footsteps of famous Thomas Hardy by taking the path through the woods and up the valley to St Juliot’s Church. See the Old Rectory where Hardy stayed and met his sweetheart Emma whilst he was an architect working on the church tower For fantastic coastal views take the left hand path at the harbour that leads to a slate platform where out you can see the Boscastle ‘Blowhole’ an hour before or after low tide. The blow-hole beneath Pengally Point is often called Devil’s Bellows. It can be seen thumping and snorting an hour either side of low tide, blowing horizontal water across the harbour entrance if the conditions are right. You can follow the path up to the 300ft high Willa Park, where the National Coastwatch have a watch house. The Willa Park walk is doable with young children (we managed it with a four year old), and you may even see the ‘wild’ ponies who graze up by the watch tower. (Don’t worry, they are very friendly). The National Trust visitor centre by the harbour has an extensive gift shop, tea rooms and lots of local visitor information. About a mile out of Boscastle is a farm shop. This has a lovely cafe, and sells a range of great farm produce (meat, vegetables, breads, beer, cider, etc). It is also a fantastic point at which to start a walk as it adjoins the South West Coastal Path. The cafe displays a number of excellent circular walks of varying length.

Boscastle is a tiny harbour set in and around a narrow ravine, the village came into prominence most recently as a result of terrible floods in the summer of 2004 and featured in the two season BBC TV series ‘A Seaside Parish'. In the village there is a pottery, a museum of witchcraft a post office and general store, bakery, outdoor clothing store, National Trust shop and several other gift shops. A footpath to the left of the quayside will take you to the 'Lookout' which is a wonderful vantage point from which to view the rugged coastline and if the tide is at the right level, the Boscastle blow hole!. There are numerous short and long walks from Boscastle to the surrounding countryside and coastal areas. Walking across Forrabury Stitches to the Harbour or along the coast to Tintagel as well as the demanding 7 mile coastal path walk between Boscastle and Crackington Haven. The "Devils Bellows" is a horizontal blow hole at the mouth of Boscastle harbour which, at the right state of tide can blow halfway across the inlet. Boscastle was an active commercial harbour until the North Cornwall railway line was completed towards the end of the 19th century and vessels of up to 200 tonnes regularly navigated into the treacherous harbour as this was the only option over 40 miles of coastline.Trethevy is a delightful hamlet, equidistant from Boscastle and Tintagel and has a history which may well go back to 250 AD when a granite post was inscribed with C DOMI N GALLO ET VOLUS – ‘For the Emperor Caesars our lords Gallus and Volusian' this can now be found outside St Piran a former monastery and now private residence, Trethevy is also home to St Nectans Glen a beautiful valley where the River Trevillet has carved its way through the slate and formed a beautiful 60' waterfall. Port Isaac is the location of the television series Poldark and more recently Doc Martin, as well as being a gorgeous working fishing village. Bodmin Jail built in 1778, notorious for its public executions by hanging, was the first jail to be built housing inmates in individual cells. The Jail closed in 1927 and is now a museum open to the public, which during the First World War housed the Crown Jewels and the Doomsday Book. The famous Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths for 18 miles, providing the whole family with a flat cycle route through Bodmin and Wadebridge, and out to Padstow where you can sample Rick Steins famous Fish and Chips. The market town of Launceston is the capital of Cornwall and well worth a visit to see the church of St Mary Magdelene, with granite carvings, unusual among Cornish churches.

My place, a perfect base for exploring North Cornwall just off the A39 is close to Bodmin Moor, the Camel Trail for cycling, the North Devon and Cornwall sections of the South West Coastal Path for hiking and Surfing Beaches like Polzeath and Bude. Easy access to famous locations from television like Port Isaac and Jamaica Inn. There are loads of amazing small farm shops and tea rooms as well as larger destinations like Padstow near by with Rick Steins fish and chips.
The accommodation comprises one double bedroom, a lounge/dinner with freeview television and wifi. A fully equipped newly fitted kitchen with dishwasher. A brand new shower room with underfloor heating. The garden is large and enclosed with patio table and chairs. There is a driveway for off road parking and access to our field for guests with dogs. Also free eggs from our pet chickens (as pictured), and a cream tea on arrival, with enough milk, sugar and teabags to get you started. You'll love my place because of the amazing views up to Rough Tor, the easy access to the whole of North Cornwall and the enclosed garden suitable for dogs. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and furry friends (pets).
The immediate neighbourhood is a small hamlet of around 10 houses and farms, and although the A39 runs through it, the area is very rural and surrounded be fields. Davidstow with its famous creamery is one mile to the east and Camelford with its free parking, shops, pubs and petrol station three miles to the west. Rough Tor is five miles away, the turning is on the left on the way to Camelford, Hilltop Cafe/Farm shop is two miles away, the turning is on the right on the way to Camelford.

In a quite beautiful and peaceful spot, close to some of the most spectacular sections of Cornwalls north coast, The Old Cider House is a luxurious conversion providing spacious accommodation for a couple with the added advantage of a lovely private garden.
Located next door to the owner's farmhouse, this delightful conversion has just been completed and offers a truly peaceful place to stay in the North Cornwall area. It is a real treat for couples seeking romantic heaven. A spacious living room is made extra cosy by a traditional log burner sitting in the large inglenook fireplace and the sumptuous leather sofas. Upstairs the beautifully presented bedroom has french windows opening to a charming Juliet balcony from which guests will be treated to bird song from the neighbouring orchard. Outside you can enjoy a morning coffee on the patio or sunbathe in the private south facing garden. The Old Cider House is definitely a place to relax, unwind and revive the spirits. This stunning part of north Cornwall will delight visitors seeking an area of historical interest, beautiful scenery, spectacular walks and a warm Cornish welcome. The famous villages of Boscastle and Port Isaac are both within a short drive and there is nowhere more historic in Cornwall than Tintagel for those fascinated by Arthurian legends. Sandy beaches at Crackington and nearby Widemouth Bay are both great for surfing, but if you fancy a great escape, try the Strangles beach, often quiet even in the height of summer because of a steep path down the cliff. This area is a walker's paradise with some of the most dramatic (and challenging) sections of the south west coastal path from Port Isaac all the way up to Widemouth. Alternatively the wilds of Bodmin Moor are not too distant where you can scale the famous tors of Roughtor or Cornwall's highest point, Brown Willy.AccommodationGround Floor: The beautiful stable door opens into the spacious living room with leather sofas, inglenook fireplace and dining table with lovely wood flooring. A fully fitted kitchen looks out over the garden and the rolling fields beyond.First Floor: Upstairs is the delightful double bedroom with 5' double bed, pastel bed linen and large wardrobes. The gorgeous french windows open to the Juliet balcony and the skylights mean this is a light and airy bedroom in the warmer months, but with the open stairs and a roaring wood-burner, a gorgeous cosy place in winter. A well fitted bathroom adjoins with a bath and over bath shower.Exterior: A small patio is available immediately to the outside of the front door and the garden extends around the house. There is an outside table and a BBQ is available.Facilities & Services Heating is via an air source heat pump and the wood burning stove. The kitchen has a range of modern equipment. There is an electric oven and hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge with freezer compartment and dishwasher. The sitting room has a flat screen digital TV & SMART Blue-ray DVD player with Netflix, a CD & Radio. There is Superfast Wi-Fi at the property. There is an iron & ironing board.MiscellaneousElectricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. All wood is provided free of charge for the woodburner. Parking facilities are available for up to 2 vehicles. Regrettably no smoking or dogs are allowed. There is a cot & high chair available upon request.General Booking Information Arrival / Departure is normally a Sunday.Short breaks are available during quieter periods.£150 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
Between Bodmin and Bude, Crackington Haven lies a few miles from Boscastle and boasts a spectacular beach with some of the best surf in the county. A popular pub, a couple of charming tea rooms and a lovely woodland and coastal walk are also excellent reasons for a visit. Crackington Haven is on one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline in North Cornwall. The village itself is located in a very narrow valley with steep sides leading to a beach where beautiful sand is exposed at low tide. The beach is popular with surfers and the surrounding coastline is a huge draw for walkers. The cliffs are not only dramatic, but are also geologically fascinating. Immediately north of the beach is Pencarrow Point and a few hundred yards south is Cambeak headland. One mile south of Crackington Haven, High Cliff rises to 735 feet (224 m) with a sheer drop to the rocky foreshore. The surrounding area has beautiful countryside and nearby Bude has a full range of shops, pubs & restaurants. There are a whole range of beaches within a few miles drive along the coast as well. The landscape rises dramatically to the south onto the moors with more superb walking to be had - it really is a lovely place to visit and explore!Boscastle is one of the most picturesque villages in Cornwall, with a tiny natural port and coastal paths passing through superb unspoilt countryside, much of it owned by the National Trust. Browse the shops and enjoy some refreshment at one of many charming cafes in the village. Boscastle, situated on rugged North Coast of Cornwall, has an incredibly picturesque tiny natural port. Once a thriving port at the base of a ravine serving North Cornwall, the village now survives on its tourism industry. Unfortunately, the disastrous floods of 2004 damaged some historic properties, but Boscastle is most definitely up and running again now. The Witchcraft Museum, which re-opened in 2005, houses an extensive collection of related artefacts including a Dutch collection donated to the museum in 2000. There are many gift shops and cafe's in the village, as well as a pottery, with amazing coastal walks and views to each side of the valley. On the north side of the harbour at Penally Point is a natural blow hole, which at low tides with enough swell sends plumes of water high into the air. There is a fabulous 7 mile walk between Boscastle and Crackington Haven which is extremely popular, although it is quite a testing length of coastline. Many sites of interest surround Boscastle with lots to explore. Nearby Tintagel and a ruined castle heralds myths of King Arthur, with Camelford rumoured to be Camelot of old.Widemouth Bay is a varied and interesting beach with a long open bay. At the northerly end of Widemouth there is a large sandy area that becomes more exposed as the tide drops and to either side of this the sand gives way to some fantastic rock formations. The beach is ideal for families, whether you wish to swim, sunbathe, surf or hunt for marine life in the hundreds of rock pools. Lifeguards are present during the season. These are some of the best beaches in Cornwall so don't miss the chance to try your surfing or 'boogie' boarding skils. There are a number of surf schools in the area. For Walkers and Cyclists the area is full of superb routes and Bude lies at the centre of the most dramatic stretch of the South West coastal footpath. There are numerous local villages and landmarks to explore and much of the area ia a nature lovers paradise.Bude is a popular resort for families and surfers, boasting spectacular sandy beaches and some of the best waves in the county. The town, located close to the border with Devon, is filled with shops, restaurants, pubs and even a local theatre. Bude is Cornwall's most northern town and has been a favourite seaside resort since Victorian times. The coastal scenery surrounding the beaches of Bude are quite beautiful. There is a huge amount of bird life for the dedicated twitcher and some wonderful walks along the cliff tops. Along the coast is Sandy Mouth which is ideal for families due to its lovely sand and numerous rock pools. Morwenstow, which is a little further towards Devon is just south of Henna Cliff. The cliff is the highest in Cornwall and has a sheer drop down to the sea. From here you can see across to South Wales. The centre of Bude has a theatre, concerts, dances and fetes, as well as other events throughout the season. There is a new Visitors Centre in the Crescent car park which has an extensive display by the North Cornwall Heritage Coast and Countryside Service including a children's area. There is a weekly Cornish Furry Dance and an annual Carnival Week. Bude is also home to a popular jazz festival which takes place every year in August.

Beautiful bell tent set within a 70 acre working family farm. Approx 1 mile from the stunning coastal village of Boscastle. Fully equipped and also offers your own seating area, fire pit and electric for charging phones etc. Campsite also on farm however the tent is in a different field to the main camping field although our other two air b n b lets are also stationed here, it is generally quit and relaxing. Shared use of campsite toilets, showers and washing up room.
Close to the beautiful village of Boscastle. Plenty of amazing views not only on site but of the local scenery as well at plenty of places to visit and lovely beaches. The bell tent is quirky and vibrant space which has been lovingly decorated for your benefit.
Our bell tent is a 3 minute drive from Boscastle farm shop which is great for a lovely breakfast/lunch as well as plenty of cafes etc within the village. Plenty of pubs also in the village, although we’d recommend the Cobweb inn as it’s a lovely traditional Cornish pub. The witches museum is a must see in Boscastle and the national trust visitors centre is also very interesting and has plenty of information about the flood. St nectans glen isn’t far away either as well as rocky valley. Padstow, Rock and Port Isaac are great to visit if you’re spending a few days with us.

Small but beautifully formed the Boatshed is an ideal couple’s retreat. It’s in a quiet location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with picture-perfect sea and countryside views. With on-site parking the Boatshed is a perfect base for exploring Cornwall. Hillsborough comprises three properties, the Farmhouse, the Hayloft and the Boatshed. All properties are fully self-contained, each with their own private outside space.
Our little Boatshed is a beautiful, detached studio with amazing views which you can’t help but notice as soon as you walk through the door - the floor to ceiling window and door give the most stunning view of fields and sea. The Boatshed is a delightful, quiet retreat from the hubbub of life. You enter into a small, neat kitchenette area, equipped with a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, electric two ring burner, an induction hob and a very useful slow cooker – just fill it in the morning before you go out and come home to a lovely smell and beautifully cooked food. There is also a breakfast table with two stools. A comfy leather settee is perfect for reading or watching TV, as is the cosy king-size bed. At night if there’s not much worth watching, just look out through the glass doors – the lack of light pollution means that on a clear night you can see millions of stars. If you have Spotify or similar or you carry your music library on your mobile you can stream it directly to a Yamaha WX-010 wireless streaming speaker using Apple Airplay or MusicCast. There is also a shower room with toilet. Outside there is a kettle bbq - the tools can be found in the kitchen. Please leave the bbq as clean as possible as this is not cleaned by our housekeeping team. We clean so you don't have to! That's why we leave very little in the way of cleaning products in the Boatshed. Unfortunately we can't always be around (we're working on it) but we use a great housekeeping team who are your first point of contact in the unlikely event of any problems. All we ask that you leave the Boatshed tidy and leave a note of any accidental breakages. We'd love you to come and visit the Boatshed soon.
Hillsborough is very quiet. Apart from Boscastle Farm Shop the only neighbours are the sheep and cattle in the fields, sea birds and beautiful peregrine falcons who nest on the cliffs we overlook. So the only noises you should hear are moos, baas and the eerie screech of the falcons when they are hunting for food. The area is also a feeding ground for greater horseshoe bats which apparently can sometimes be seen at dusk. Just 200 metres away from the Boatshed is the SW Coast Path, ideal for walkers. The way to the path is via our closest neighbours, an award winning farm shop and cafe – breakfast there is guaranteed to delay your walk, but the cafe is a welcome sight at the end of a long trek. Just make sure you arrive back before they close at 4.30. About 20 minutes’ walk away (2 or 3 minutes by car), Boscastle is famous not just for its Elizabethan harbour but also the floods which devastated the village in 2004. It is now once again a charming village with plenty to occupy you – eating places galore, gift shops, crystal shops and hotels. If magic is your thing then the renowned Museum of Witchcraft and Magic is a must. If you like traditional music then call into the Wellington Hotel on a Wednesday evening for a traditional Cornish singalong. For something louder, go to the Cobweb Inn on a Saturday night, you won’t be disappointed … it will be loud. From the harbour you can explore the beautiful surrounding area with ancient woods, the old village of Boscastle with cottages dating back to the 15th Century, the site of the Norman Castle and the medieval strip farming system which is still in operation on the cliff top. And there is much, much more, not least the stunning coastal views. The Spar Shop in the village opens at 6.00 am – early enough for the keenest walkers, and supplies nearly everything you need. You should also try Bottreaux Filling Station for more unusual items, including a range of free-from. As mentioned, the Farm Shop is sometimes difficult to leave – locally produced fruit and veg, Ruby Red beef and wonderful bakery items are available to buy and the café has an amazing choice of cake and puds. Further afield, there are many places to visit within half an hour, including Bude and Launceston. Within an hour you can be in Rock or Padstow and an hour and a half will find you in St Ives, Mousehole or Marazion with beautiful St Michael’s Mount. (For information, Marazion is pronounced Marazine – it took us a long time to realise that they weren’t two different places.)

Trethevy is a delightful hamlet, equidistant from Boscastle and Tintagel and has a history which may well go back to 250 AD when a granite post was inscribed with C DOMI N GALLO ET VOLUS – ‘For the Emperor Caesars our lords Gallus and Volusian' this can now be found outside St Piran a former monastery and now private residence, Trethevy is also home to St Nectans Glen a beautiful valley where the River Trevillet has carved its way through the slate and formed a beautiful 60' waterfall.Boscastle is a tiny port set in a narrow ravine, the town came into prominence recently as a result of terrible floods in the summer of 2004. There is a pottery in the village and several gift shops.

Penhawker boasts a beautiful sheltered location in the Valency valley. Bright, single level house, allowing easy access and just minutes from Boscastle's harbour, shops, pubs, restaurants and walks. There is a large drive for ample parking. If not walking directly from the house on the coast path, it's only a short drive or bus trip to beautiful places such as Bossiney, St nectans glen, Tintagel, and Bude.
Penhawker was our family home and is now a holiday home enjoyed by us, friends and welcome guests. It is suitable for single occupancy, couples and families. Dogs are welcome too, and the garden is secure. It is all on one level and has been used by people with a wheelchair with no problems.
Boscastle is an idyllic Cornish harbour village with a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere providing grocery and gift shops, as well as a fine bakery and pottery. The village boasts many fine places to eat, drink and make merry. The Napolean Inn at the top of the village is well worth a visit on a Tuesday night to hear the delightful and entertaining singing of The Boscastle Buoys..(check them out on you tube!) The Cobweb Inn always has live music on a saturday night, you will be the envy of the locals at having such a short 2 minute walk home! Sited on the rugged North Cornwall coast the local views and beaches are some of the best in Britain, you may even be fortunate enough to see the seals on the beaches.
