Aptly named, the Mousehole is a unique miniature barn; the perfect place to unwind. Situated in an 'Area of Outstanding Beauty' in the heart of the Cotswolds this renovated cottage has retained an abundance of character. A 3-minute walk to the popular Chequers Inn, and Daylesford, Soho Farmhouse and Blenheim Palace nearby. With endless walks on your doorstop, it is an ideal romantic hideaway if you are looking to get away from it all. We look forward to welcoming you!
The Mousehole has been completely renovated to a high standard. The cosy double bed on the mezzanine floor makes the space ideal for a couple. Due to height restrictions, there is no bed base, but a good quality mattress. I am mentioning this as most people love the quirkiness of the cottage, as seen in guest's reviews, however I have had one complaint about this (since opening in July 2017!) so just want you to be aware! The cottage is open plan with the exception of the shower room which has a loo, shower and basin. Although we have done everything we can to adhere to health and safety requirements, PLEASE NOTE this is a very old building and the stairs to the mezzanine floor are quite narrow and steep so not suitable for toddlers/young children/elderly, and the loo is on the ground floor. We pride ourselves with attention to detail and want to make your stay perfect, hence this detailed and honest description! The 3 double bedroom house opposite the Mousehole, (No.1 The Square), is also available to rent and depending on availability, both properties can be booked together. This has proven popular for families with weddings nearby.
We think the Mousehole would have been built in the late 1690's, when the village was rebuilt after a fire. Churchill is a very friendly and popular village with a Heritage Centre, William Morris Memorial, All Saints Church, cricket pitch, fountain and village green. As well as the much loved Chequers Inn! You will be ideally placed for touring the Cotswolds and visiting the wealth of visitor attractions and leisure activities in the area. Please see our 'Manual' for a few ideas to get you started.

Down a long and winding private country track, close to Kingham is this seriously cool property, sleeping up to 10 adults and 4 children in 7 bedrooms, with 4 bathrooms – 2 ensuite. An eclectic haven with dramatic interior décor and beautiful gardens, complete with trampoline and swings, and lots of separate indoor spaces to explore and find some privacy. Perfect for large families or friends with children, with an uber-stylish self-contained annex that's great for teens or a bit of seclusion.
Tucked away down a winding private track just outside of the peaceful hamlet of Foscot is this seriously cool cottage for up to 14 guests (10 adults + 4 children); an eclectic haven with outdoor and indoor space a-plenty, perfect for families and groups alike. A traditional single-story cottage from the outside, this vibrant home comes to life as soon as you step inside, filled to the brim with eye-catching artwork, bright pops of colour and unique furnishings; all sourced from owners Adam and Rowan’s private, personally-collated collection of quirky international artefacts. Light, bright spaces sweep throughout the property thanks to its many skylights and windows, with 7 bedrooms sleeping up to 14 guests comfortably, including two bedrooms specifically kitted-out for younger guests. It even benefits from a separate studio annex, great for teens or those who simply want their own space. The hub of the home comes courtesy of the spacious kitchen/dining/living space found just off the entrance hall, boasting a well-equipped kitchen, quirky living space with sofas and TV, cosy wood-burner and huge floor-to-ceiling sliding doors; expertly blending indoor/outdoor living by offering direct access onto the pretty outdoor dining veranda. Kids and big-kids alike have plenty of room to burn off energy thanks to the mature one-acre garden that sweeps around the property, with the hottest new-kid-on-the-culinary-block, Kingham, offering foodies the perfect dining destination just a 5-minute drive away. The Living Space The cottage’s contemporary-cool feel hits you as soon as you enter the bright reception hall, with walls filled-to-the-brim with a mixture of eclectic artwork- many of which are owner Rowan’s own works- greeting you as you step into the light-filled space. Just off the hallway sit the cottage’s two main living areas: a cosy snug, complete with log fire, sink-in sofas and vibrant purple walls (plus a cleverly-concealed TV) and an impressive adjoining living/kitchen/dining space spanning the rear of the cottage. This spacious open-plan hub boasts a stylish 10-seater oak dining table (plus a cute 4-seater table for little ones), high vaulted ceilings, beautiful floor-to-ceiling glass doors and a comfy lounge area at the far end; complete with TV and crackling wood-burner. The well-equipped kitchen benefits from a triple oven, gas hob, large American-style fridge and dishwasher, brought to life by vivid green cupboards and quirky mosaic tiles. Leading through the living space at the far end is a separate annexed studio area, perfect for overspill, complete with sofas, wood-burner, 4-seater dining table and kitchenette. Carrying on the impressive contemporary-meets-traditional feel of the property, this additional studio space homes a hidden attic single bedroom- found at the top of a quirky built-in staircase- plus a fully-equipped shower room and toilet, making it great for teens or older guests in search of a little privacy. Bedrooms 7 bedrooms can be found throughout the property, sleeping up to 10 adults and 4 children comfortably: Master Bedroom Tucked away down a book-lined corridor along from the entrance hall is the Master Bedroom, benefitting from a sink-in super king bed, en-suite shower room and French doors opening directly onto the property’s sheltered front garden. In here, the owners’ passion for art shines through the painted mural wall behind the bed; hand-painted by owner Rowan as an homage to her family home in southern India. A stand-alone crib also fits comfortably at the foot of bed for those travelling with babies. Bedroom 2 Found through a unique stable-door just off the entrance hall, Bedroom 2 homes a king-sized bed (configurable as a twin) and bright, Moroccan-inspired interiors, evident through its sparkling lantern lights, cool blue hues and pretty, tiled wardrobe. We love the roll-top bath taking pride of place in the room itself, plus there’s a handy en-suite toilet room, too. Bedrooms 3 - 5 Hidden behind a secret cupboard door in the entrance hall sit three further bedrooms, all benefitting from their own shared family bathroom. Bedroom 3 is great for adults, with its king-sized bed and French doors leading directly onto the garden, whilst Bedroom 4 can be used for big kids or those who don’t mind sharing thanks to its twin-bed setup. Bedroom 5 is definitely best for younger guests, with full-sized bunk beds, a great toy collection and plenty of space for playing, plus its own set of French doors leading onto the grounds. Bedroom 6 A den-lover’s dream, Bedroom 6 is perfect for younger guests or adults who don’t mind a bit of a squeeze. Able to accommodate up to two guests on two mattress-beds (one single, one small double), one is hidden in the rafters up a small wooden ladder; perfect for mini-explorers in search of a hideaway. Located just off the entrance hall, the Rudyard Kipling-esque wallpaper will speak to book-lovers of all ages and it’s perfect to use as a study for those who need a little peace and quiet. Studio Bedroom Another great room for intrepid explorers, this small annex room, sleeping one on a single mattress-bed, is hidden away up a flight of steep wooden stairs in the studio; great for teens and agile adults, not so great for those less mobile. The studio also homes a sofa bed which can accommodate two if needed. Be warned, the sky lights have no blinds on them, so it’s best for early-risers! What’s Outside Brock Cottage offers blissful seclusion by the bucketful thanks to its rural location and sweeping one-acre garden, surrounding the property like a pretty, green cocoon. Mostly lawned (great for kids wanting to stretch their legs), mature trees and shrubbery reward the garden with complete privacy, with a trampoline and swing to keep little ones happy for hours. The cottage’s rear garden, accessed through the kitchen/diner’s sliding doors, also benefits from a large paved dining area complete with outdoor dining table and charcoal BBQ; sheltered from the elements by a wisteria-strewn pergola.
Eating Brock Cottage is located just a short 5-minute drive from the village of Kingham, renowned as the Cotswolds’ newest foodie hotspot thanks to its two excellent, award-winning restaurants - The Kingham Plough and The Wild Rabbit Inn – both well worth a visit. The King’s Head in Bledington offers tasty, seasonal food in a picture-perfect setting just a 2-minute car journey (or slightly longer walk) from Brock Cottage, whilst high-end hangout and favourite of the jet-set, Daylesford Farmshop and Café, is also just an 8-minute car journey, with a delicious all-day dining menu. For those wanting to venture slightly further afield, we’d highly recommend a visit to Stow-on-the-Wold, a pretty market town just 5 miles down the road that packs a punch when it comes to culinary credentials. Check out The Porch House, a 10th century inn in the heart of the town with good beer and a great lunch menu, before heading to The Old Butchers for dinner; a Michelin Guide must-visit where pre-booking is definitely recommended. Walking Somewhat of a walker’s paradise, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to exploring the Cotswolds on foot from Brock Cottage. The cottage itself sits within Foxholes Nature Reserve, awarding stunning woodland walks right from the doorstep, bursting to life with carpets of bluebells in the Spring. The Oxfordshire Way- winding all the way from Bourton-on-the-Water to the banks of the River Thames in Henley- also passes directly through Foscot; a great option for those keen to join the trail. We’d recommend the 6-mile round-trip from Foscot to Churchill, passing through streams and meadows with a handy stop-off at The Chequers pub for delicious sustenance half-way round. Must-Sees The Cotswolds is jam-packed full of attractions to keep visitors of all ages entertained. For younger guests, a visit to Cotswold Farm Park (20-minute drive) and Cotswold Wildlife Park (20-minute drive) are a must, with the Cotswold Water Park (40-minute drive) the perfect place to head on hot-weather days. For older generations, Chastleton House National Trust property is just 15 minutes away, and we’d recommend that no visit to this area be without a day exploring the pretty surrounding market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water; both renowned for their quaint independent stores, cutesy-cafés and quintessentially-Cotswolds good looks. Daylesford Farmshop and Café is also a must-visit - a beautiful destination store in its own right - crammed to the brim with high-end, artisan produce, delicious deli treats and an impressive restaurant. Just be sure to allow a few hours there; we don’t know anyone who hasn’t been mesmerised by this country-chic hangout.

The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Voted "England's Favourite Village" in 2004 by Country Life magazine, Kingham is a beautiful, unspoilt Cotswold village, with a large open green and some elegant stone and thatch cottages, mostly dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is situated in the Evenlode valley, a short drive from the well known Cotswold market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton. There has been a church on the site of St. Andrew's Church for at least 900 years, although the present building is a mixture of ages. The font is 13th century, the Perpendicular Gothic tower 15th century, the nave roof is dated 1774 and the rest of the church was remodelled in 1851-3. The church also has a fine old rectory, built in the 17th century. Kingham has two highly regarded pubs, a village shop and is just a mile away from Daylesford Organic, which is well known for its organic food, cookery school and spa. Kingham is also the only village in the Cotswolds that is served by a main line railway station, which provides regular services to London Paddington station. Food & Drink Kingham is fortunate to be blessed with two of the best village pubs in the whole of the Cotswolds, as well as a welcoming hotel, and is just a mile away from the well known Daylesford Organic Farm: The Wild Rabbit (www.thewildrabbit.co.uk): Owned by Lord and Lady Bamford, and described as "the poshest pub in Britain", the Wild Rabbit has been totally refurbished and boasts a total of three real fires in its dining room and separate bar. The menu reflects the seasons and celebrates everything that is great about local produce. All ingredients are carefully selected for their quality and are organic, where possible; The Kingham Plough (www.thekinghamplough.co.uk): The Kingham Plough has established a well deserved reputation as an outstanding dining pub and has deservedly been recognised by numerous awards bestowed by various different bodies. The modern British food is inspirational, not your ordinary Gastro-Pub menu, where everything is prepared from scratch by a team of skilled chefs. Headed by chef-owner Emily Watkins and head chef Ben Dulley, the menu offers an exciting take on English classics. The kitchen is dedicated to making the most of the carefully sourced local ingredients and everything from the charcuterie to the baked beans in the award winning breakfast is proudly made by hand. Kingham also has a village store, selling a wide range of everyday products, including fresh items, beers, wines and spirits, groceries and confectionery. There are regular farmers' markets held in the village, throughout the year.

Dating back to the mid-17th century, the property has an abundance of character features including exposed wooden beams, a stone mullion window, terracotta tiling in the kitchen and two inglenook fireplaces, one of which has a wood burning stove. To complement these traditional features, the property has been finished in a contemporary style with the addition of modern facilities such as wireless internet access, a Smart TV and a well-equipped kitchen. Built from original Cotswold stone, Causeway Cottage has a beautiful exterior to match its interior, with a wonderful wisteria trailing across the porch and living room windows, and dormer windows on the first floor which offer lovely views across the garden. The enchanting garden is an excellent spot to socialise with friends and family in the warmer months and there is off-street parking for up to three cars on the gravel driveway. Causeway Cottage is situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Old Minster Lovell, an unspoilt village with a mixture of attractive thatched and Cotswold stone cottages. The village benefits from a well-regarded pub, the Old Swan, which prides itself on its use of local ingredients, and the 12th century parish church of St Kenelm is just a short walk away from the cottage. Alongside the church lie the extensive ruins of Minster Lovell Hall, a former 15th century manor house which is now a Grade 1 listed building maintained by English Heritage. Old Minster Lovell is also home to Minster Mill, a luxury hotel with a spa and restaurant which members of the public can utilise by appointment only. The larger residential settlement of New Minster is just a ten minute walk away, with another popular pub and a local shop. Located within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are many local walks and cycle trails to explore, including those along the River Windrush which flows through the village itself. Old Minster Lovell is well placed for visiting many of the charming towns and villages of the Cotswolds including the medieval market town of Burford with its wide range of eateries, and the scenic village of Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as the “Venice of the Cotswolds” due to the many arching bridges which cross over the River Windrush. The popular tourist destinations of Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill, Cirencester and Oxford are within easy reach for day trips. The patio is bordered by a low dry-stone wall, which itself is bordered by fragrant lavender, and in the late spring the gorgeous wisteria and climbing flowers add splashes of colour to the Cotswold stone exterior. A second patio can be found beneath the mature trees at the side of the garden and this area contains a charcoal barbecue and two sun loungers. Just off the driveway is a double garage which houses a large table tennis table and croquet set. The gravel driveway has off-street parking for up to three cars.

Comfortable double bedroom in a cosy house near to the meadows and river. It's just a 10-minute walk from the centre of Witney - a great location for exploring the Cotswolds. We're a friendly couple (English and Brazilian), are easy-going hosts and happy to help with anything to make your stay more pleasant.
Your private room has tea and coffee making facilities, high-speed wi-fi and a desk should you need to do some work, and a shared bathroom. We also provide towels and amenities. If you need anything else though, we are happy to help!
Close to the centre of Witney, but also a stone's throw from some walks across the meadows and along the River Windrush. The neighbourhood itself is a quiet residential area.

Leafield is a beautiful cotswold village just four miles from Burford;Gateway to the cotswolds and a destination for the perfect cream tea. Leafield is also close to the world heritage site Blenheim Palace. For something a little different visit Oxford, famous for its architecture, covered market and rich cultural history. Pleasant View is a two hundred year old stone cottage with original features. The 2 double rooms over look the village green, with amazing views across the windrush valley.
We have two double bedrooms both over looking the village green. We can let the two rooms together to a party of four. But as we have only one guest bathroom, if you are a single occupant or a couple we only let out one room so you have your own bathroom. A continental breakfast is left for guests in our conservatory. The second bedroom is priced at £25.00 per person
Our village is very quiet and peaceful, with lovely views of the countryside. We also have an excellent pub near by which sells real ale and serves food Wednesday to Sunday.

A stunning room with a curved wall, in a Cotswold cottage in the heart of gorgeous Charlbury. The room has a double bed, an ensuite bathroom and has space for a mattress or cot. Great walking and cycling, good pubs both for beer and food, near Oxford & Blenheim Palace, Woodstock. Visitors welcome to use the kitchen and living room, shared with the family. We have a dog and run a sourdough bakery, where the bread is fermented slowly and cooked in a wood fired oven.
Charlbury is a medieval Cotswold town, with narrow winding streets, stunning views and beautiful stone cottages. The room has a curved wall looking out over a wonderful view of the garden. From the terrace you can see across to the church, with swifts soaring.
We are in the heart of Charlbury, a medieval Cotswold town. There are 5 or more churches, 4 pubs with good beer and good food, a deli and a small cooperative supermarket. Good walks and cycling in the area as well as many other beautiful Cotswold villages - including Burford and Woodstock (Blenheim Palace). It is also handy for Oxford, which is just 15 minutes away by train.

Upper Oddington and Lower Oddington are traditional Cotswold villages, which together form the civil parish of Oddington. Both villages are very peaceful, being located on a quiet country road, away from the busier main roads of the Cotswolds. Oddington is known for the fine Church of St Nicholas. It was originally a cell of St Peter's Benedictine abbey in Gloucester, which was ceded in 1157 to the See of York and exchanged with the Crown in 1547. The Norman south aisle probably represents the original nave. The church was all but abandoned among its fields in 1852 and has been little altered since. It contains wall paintings of the Doom on the north wall of the nave, dating to the early 15th century, which were whitewashed over in Puritan times, before being restored by a local resident in the 20th century. Scenes depicted include the Acts of Mercy, the Seven Deadly Sins and Pride.
