Our flat is full of light and cool air at the 7th floor in a new building in the peninsula. It is ideally located to reach all locations both in the Masaki peninsula and the city centre, while out of the traffic and noise of the city.
The flat is wonderful for the amount of light and the breeze that makes it superbly cool even in the hottest days. The view to the sea makes every morning wake up a pleasure, while the Air Conditioning (AC) in each room ensures a good night sleep, when the wind calms at night.
There are windows on three sides of the building, making sure there is always a nice breeze circulating in the flat.
The flat has two independent bedrooms, each with its own AC unit. One of the bedrooms has a private bathroom, while the other has a bathroom which is accessed from the living room, yet less than a meter away from the bedroom door. Each bathroom has its own toilet and shower with hot water.
There is also a fully equipped kitchen with gas stoves, sink, utensils and whatnot.
You will have access to the entire place, except for some of the clothes closets, where we will be storing our clothes and stuff. For the rest... "mi casa es tu casa"!
Общение с гостями
We are likely to be out of town, but will make sure to have some friends hand over the keys to you. You will find clean sheets and towels at your arrival, as well as some breakfast food for your stay.
Другие важные подробности
We have an amazing cleaning lady coming over to clean twice a week. She also takes care of the laundry and waters plants. What more can you ask?
The sink of the second bedroom is just outside the bathroom, as per local use; nobody ever had an issue with that, as it is still separate and dedicated to the second bedroom only.
we are still furnishing the second bedroom, so for the time being the clothes in the second bedroom will be hanging on an open clothes hanger. Still pretty good and everybody says it works just fine, but we want you to know that there will not be a full-blown closet quite yet.
Sometimes the National Power Grid stops working: no worry! The building has its own generator, although it may take some time to start.
We love cooking, so you should be all set and we would be happy for you to feel at home and use the kitchen freely.
we rely on mobile internet for the internet connection. It is working quite fine, but is very expensive. It would be great if you could refrain from downloading music, your entire childhood photo album, etc.
Tanzania has a limited amount of power supply, it's a shame to waste it, so it would be great if you could limit the water heaters usage to just before a shower; it takes about 5-10 min for the water to be really hot, why keeping it on for longer?
During the day there is a nice breeze, and it should make the AC superfluous. Feel free to use it, but consider just opening the windows instead.
We do not mind you smoking on one of the 4 (!) balconies, just don't smoke inside, please.
I am Italian, living in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, co-founder of a company to provide electricity to low-income people in villages in developing countries.
I like sailing, travelling, riding bikes, watching quality movies, go to musea, programming. I get along very easily with people, but don't mind a bit of time alone, I also like looking at things from a different perspective and love debating interesting topics.
I am generally quite untidy, but limit that to my own space, as I very much respect the shared spaces and always like keeping them tidy and clean. I believe that mutual respect is necessary and key to a happy life.
