If you want to stay in the heart of Riomaggiore, you could not get any closer than this. The apartment is on the fourth floor of a building that sits on the lowest level of the town, right next to the boat launch. While the view is not perfect, you look at the homes across the piazza and can only see the sea if you lean to the side of the window, you still feel like you are hanging on cliffs above the town.
You are close to everything, restaurants, the water, grocery stores, and the train station. At night, the night life happens directly below your windows.
The apartment itself is basic with minimal features. The bathroom is poorly designed and therefore can only fit one person at a time, and the shower and toilet are nearly on top of each other. The rest of the rooms are decent sized, though the kitchen is minimally equipped. The beds seem fine.
Cecelia, our host, was wonderful. Despite us coming in at 11 p.m., an hour late, she was there waiting and helped lug our heavy suitcases up the many flights of stairs. All of Cinque Terre is filled with stairs. She helped us throughout our stay including getting someone to carry our bags down to the train station. We give her our highest recommendation.
