We had a 9 day stay in Andy’s place in Singapore. All in all, the place is very simple and quite small, but at the price it was not too bad.
We were met by Andy’s mother (who is also the cleaner) at check-in. She gave us a quick tour of the place. The first impression was a bit sad as the jacuzzi was not cleaned, but she said that was because very few guests use it, and that we had to clean it ourselves if we wanted to use it. That being said, the rest of the place was clean. There is wi-fi which worked ok, but with several units connected, it was a bit slow at times.
We did clean the jacuzzi (after buying relevant disinfectant), and it worked fine. The apartment was simple, with no complementary soap, toilet paper etc. There are no glasses in the kitchen, just cups. The cooking gear is a double gas-fired mini-cooker. Note that there is no oven or microwave, but there is a kettle. Remember to keep all food in the fridge or in locked bags or boxes (not provided), as there are ants in the apartment (usual for Singapore).
Both beds were still covered in the plastic wrapping from the shop (including the cardboard covers at the corners). I realized, after reading some previous reviews, that this was Andy’s strategy to keep it clean. This was however impossible to sleep on, and we removed the plastic. (Andy: please buy suitable mattress protectors!).
The daybeds/sofas (one of them missing the legs, but still ok as a bed) are ok for one person to sleep on, but note that if you plan to stay with small kids on the daybeds, that there is no place to sit and talk at night without the risk of waking the kids.
An issue for light sleepers is that there is quite a lot of traffic noise for all sleeping areas except the upstairs bedroom.
The bathrooms are OK, but I do suggest installing some hooks to hang towels. (FYG: one set of towels are supplied).
The condo pool was possibly the best feature. It is accessible one set of stairs up (directly outside our door) It is open 8am-8pm (as it is directly outside the 6th floor apartments). The pool is long and narrow and good for laps but also OK for kids play (it is about 1 meters deep). In one end of the pool, there is a jacuzzi function. We went for a swim almost every day, and met others in the pool only twice, so in that respect it was almost as good as a private pool.
