Our little house is located in the beautiful coastal forest of Baxter's Harbour, Nova Scotia. It is tucked in the woods, 1km away from the road and 1 km away from the majestic Bay of Fundy! The off the grid installation allows for lighting and laptop/cellphone usage.
*Note that we will be closing weekends booking for few weeks as we will be working in the forest surrounding the Little House to get fire wood ready for the winter months ahead! We apologize for the inconvenience!
The house is small and cozy, organized in one open space and a small loft. There is a porch on the back where we pile wood in the winter and use as a summer kitchen when the large cookstove gets to be too hot for the house!
There is no running water, therefore no conventional bathroom in the house.
We use water fetched from a spring to wash dishes and sponge bathe ourselves. The compost toilet is located outside, less than 15m from the house.
It is nice to know that even though there is only one double-size bed, there is plenty of room to accomodate 4 more people if they are willing to bring their own camping bedding!
We are absolutly confortable with that arrangment if it is what you wish, and there won't be extra charge.
Obviously, by principle I need to mention that we expect from everyone to respect the land and the house just the same.
You will have access to the entire house (about 320 square feet) and over 20 acres of forest land to play!
The access is provided by us, who live right accross the street from the road that leads to the cabin.
You need to know that there is no parking space directly on the land. You will be able to park in our driveway and will have a charming trekk of 1km to get to the house. The trail is well packed and unless it is winter and there has been a massive snow fall the night before, good boots is all you need!

As mentionned previously, we live right accross the street from Electric Avenue (this is how we affectionately named our road leading to the cabin... because you've got to walk on through!). You can pop a text if needed, or come knock at the door! We are usually around at least from late afternoon until early morning.
Andrée-Anne and her family chose Nova Scotia for their home about 6 years ago now! They enjoy their community's company, growing and cooking delicious food, playing at the beach and exploring the woods, reading, learning, conversing, and more !!
