Located minutes from Waitsfield in a rural meadow location on one of the most beautiful roads in the world - treasured for walking and biking. There are enchanting perennial gardens, an organic vegetable garden, an old apple orchard in the back, and great views of the mountains across the meadow.
A short drive to top ski resorts; minutes to the quaint historic town of Waitsfield well-known for its craft shops, antique stores, terrific restaurants and cozy coffee shops; cross-country skiing and snowshoeing out the back door.
Also a lovely rental for wedding parties and guests; just minutes away from the Skinner Barn and the Round Barn, favorite wedding venues in the valley.
This home is an extraordinary place for a quiet retreat or home base for the wide range of activities the Mad River Valley offers in all seasons.
The main part of the house is the rental: it includes an upstairs and downstairs as well as basement access where there is a washer and dryer for your use. I live in a separate apartment in the back; very sound-proofed. In summer, the vegetable garden is accessible; you can feel free to pick a salad for dinner, depending on what's maturing out there. There is also a picnic table and hammock between some apple trees in the backyard; all available for guests.
