Situated in the heart of the Constantia Valley, this beautiful holiday home is perfect for families or friends travelling together, business groups or professionals, or if you require short term accommodation whilst moving or renovating.
We can accommodate up to 9 people per night.
The daily rate covers up to a maximum of 6 people per night, the 7th to 9th person there is an additional charge per night per person.
Our lovely family home in Constantia, one of South Africa's most beautiful and wealthiest suburbs. You will not find better value for money in the Constantia Upper area, come and enjoy your stay with us and we look forward to hosting you on all your trips to Cape Town.
The home has high ceilings, beautiful teak doors and windows with shutters, open plan kitchen, breakfast area, lounge and TV area set away from the bedrooms. The kitchen flows into the large enclosed courtyard area and then onto the pool and garden.
The main bedroom has a queen size bed, full en-suite bathroom with double basin, dressing room closet area and TV, the sunken bath looks out onto an enclosed fish pond area. We have added a single bed in the main bedroom due to the demand for extra sleeping space.
The second bedroom has two single beds and the third bedroom has a double bed. Both bedrooms are opposite two bathrooms, one with a toilet, shower and basin, the other with a bath and basin. The sleeper couch is situated in the lounge/TV room area, its the size of a double bed. The dining room flows into the lounge/Tv room area, it is a big space, perfect to relax and enjoy time with friends and family. The Tv in this space is a plasma, perfect to watch a little Tv or for the kids to setup their Tv games.
The laundry room, has large basin, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is an outside toilet and basin only in the enclosed courtyard area, perfect for when swimming or entertaining guests outside. The gas braai in the courtyard area is perfect for those rainy days or if lighting a fire and braaing over coals is not your thing. There is also enough seating space for friends and family to enjoy a meal together.
A beautiful garden awaits you on our 1500 square metre property, there is plenty of room to sit back and relax with family and friends Enjoy a swim to cool down after soaking up some summer rays. Outside bar counter, double basin, fridge and electric plugs are provided for your convenience. Wood braai facilities available, the movable braai drum is on a unit with wheels, perfect to light a wood fire under the large American poplar tree while the kids are swimming!
There are teak shutters on all the windows for extra security plus a 24hr security check point at the top of the Cul-de-sac! The same Armed response company is available to our guests for emergencies 365 days a year !
Double garage, back storage garage and one side room in the house are out of bounds - Spare furniture is stored in these areas. The large double glaze lounge window does not open which has been marked. All the shutters can be opened to allow lots of warm sun into the house, please close at night for extra security.

My sister, Barbra, is your host and will take good care of you. I am Terence and all bookings and future bookings you can arrange through me! My wife Tarryn would assist Barbs with all guest interaction. Linnet and Melody are employed as our families domestic cleaners, they would be available to assist you if need be - See our booking confirmation page for more detail / Or below on 'Things to note'.
My father owns the business next door also and can be called if there is an emergency - Trevor. The nursery has a duck pond and kiddies play area, you can enter the business premises through the main entrance for the kids to see and feed the animals. Enjoy the jungle gyms to burn off all that energy! Plants, pots, hardware and irrigation is all sold by the nursery, please remember this is a business premises, children to be supervised at all times!

A Vodacom router is available to guests, it can take up to 10 connections. We will provide you with the cell number, data is at your own cost.
There is a gas barbeque / braai for those winter months. Please make sure it stays in the covered courtyard area when not being used to cook food!
A cleaning lady can be arranged for you if you require @ R300 per day. Please arrange days and timing with Barbra when checking in.
No Smoking in the house. Ash trays provided for cigarette buts.
Pets - Pets are welcome. No animals in the house, there is a courtyard for animals to sleep under. Any damages caused by animals will be charged, this includes damage to the garden!
Antique furniture in certain parts of the home with sentimental value, please advise if you need us to put this away if threat of breaking?
Damages will be charged for and discussed with guests before check out.
Swimming pool is not fenced off and there is no cover, please make sure children that can not swim are supervised around the pool area!!
We do not mind if you host friends or family for events while you are on holiday. We do remind all guests to treat the home like it is your own and that any damages /breakages will be charged for! Residential areas do not allow loud music /noise past 10pm, be mindful of your surroundings!
Ferndale lodge Properties cc was founded by Terence Tichart, his partner in the business is his sister Barbra Tichart. The name stems from our fathers family business ‘Ferndale Nurseries’, which lies in the crook of Brommersvlei Road in the heart of Constantia. It’s been around for 75 years and the nursery is crammed with a litany of plants, herbs and even vegetable seedlings
