Christopher's Negombo Homestay is in a charming village-style house, in the Dalupotha area of Negombo, 10 minutes by tuktuk to Negombo Beachside. Houseman/tuktuk driver Chaminda will drive you to and from Beachside. Airport pickup/drop off available Rupees 1000
We expect to behave calmly and quietly, with courtesy and kindness, and we expect our guests to do the same.
There is one strict house rule:
NO PAPER OR COTTON OF ANY SORT TO BE PUT DOWN THE TOILET
That means no toilet paper, no tissues, no wipes, no sanitary towels, no tampons, no cotton buds. NOTHING to be put down the toilette.
Beside the toilette there is a handheld douche for your personal hygiene.
Like most houses in Sri Lanka, there is no mains sewage system.
The sewage and effluent from the house goes to cess pit soak away tanks, which have to be emptied periodically by bowser lorries.
Toilette paper, tissues, wipes, sanitary towels and tampons ALL clog up the system and cause blockages and possible loss of drainage, with potentially unpleasant results. I'm sure that you wouldn't want to be responsible for a blockage which might spoil your holiday and our peace of mind, so please use the douche for your personal hygiene, NOT toilette paper or tissues.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Guests are free to smoke on the verandah, but please no smoking in the bedrooms or the sitting room.
We would not encourage guests to bring pets. We have a cat Tinkerbell and a dog Nancy Rose. For guests who may not be comfortable around dogs we will be happy to confine Nancy Rose to the annex at the back of the house. She doesn't mind.

I came to Sri Lanka in 1999 at the invitation of my Sri Lankan friend, who befriended me when he rescued me in a sandstorm in the desert of what was then the Riyadh Airport construction in Saudi Arabia.
I loved Sri Lanka so much that I decided that I really had to have a little holiday home which I could visit in Sri Lanka. Fortune favoured me, and I found a little village house which was just being finished by the local builder in the small village of Dalupotha, just outside the busy coastal town of Negombo.
I loved my little village house. I visited twice a year, and over the years I added two annex bedrooms with shower rooms so that I would have rooms for family and friends to come to visit on holiday. Now I am very pleased and delighted to make these rooms available to AirBnB visitors. I look forward to meeting you and to hosting you while you are in Negombo.
