Our home is in a quiet neighborhood of Austin 20 minutes north of downtown. We offer two bedrooms and a bath in a hallway closed off for privacy. Breakfast and parking are included. We love meeting guests and showing off Austin!
Two bedrooms -- one large and one small -- with full private bath across the hall in pleasant, quiet neighborhood. Entire space can be closed off for privacy. We can accomodate three comfortably and four in a pinch as long as all share the one guest bathroom. Continental breakfast is provided. Pastries homemade, from a neighborhood bakery, or from Joe's brother's bakery. Access to kitchen if desired. The kitchen and den have been renovated in the last four years.
We are 30 blocks north of downtown. By car it is 20 minutes to downtown depending on traffic. We are three long blocks from a bus line. Still, Austin's transporation system by bus and minitrain are not completely developed so it is best to rent a car, bring your own or use RideAustin or another ride-hailing app.
We provide space for parking 1 car in the carport. An additional car may be parked at the curb. We all share the same entrance to the house and public areas.
No bands, no pets please.
The neighborhood is tree-lined 1950s. Most houses have been renovated in the last ten years.
Austin is a thriving city of almost one million. There is plenty to do year-round -- hiking, swimming, music, great restaurants, movie houses, and bars.
There is a coffee shop four blocks away and across from the bus line. American, Pizza, Greek, Chinese, frozen yogurt, Starbucks, groceries and an ATM are all five blocks away.
Our house is unique in that one can see downtown and the University of Texas Tower on a clear night. We have lived here 20 years and in Austin over 40.
Come see us!
Guests have access to the kitchen and den, their own bedrooms and bath, and a backyard deck. They park in the carport next to our car. We provide a code for entry from the carport so guests can come and go as they please.

We love sharing Austin with guests. We travel internationally every year and enjoy meeting new people.
We offer a ten percent discount to returning guests and any public school educator or person involved in preventing gun violence. Please mention this in your booking request so we can make a special offer.
We do not have a TV in the guest bedrooms but there is a TV in the room next door if a guest wants to use it. We find most guests are not in their rooms very long, instead exploring Austin.

No smoking, pets, bands, or loud music please. We expect guests to clean up after themselves and act responsibly. We have lived here 18 years and are mindful of the quiet neighborhood. We will be staying in the house with any guests. We go to bed about 10 and start coffee and continental breakfast about 7 a.m., although we certainly don't expect guests to stick to that schedule.
My husband and I are semi-retired -- he in technology and me in education. Now he works in our garden and around the house and I coach people to meet their goals. We have lived in Austin, off and on, over 40 years. We love our quiet 1950s neighborhood, biking, walking, and volunteering. We travel internationally every year and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. In our spare time we go to movies, read, volunteer, and stay in touch with family.
We provide breakfast for our guests and offer a 10% discount to repeat visitors, public school educators, employees of the Texas School for the Blind (close to our neighborhood), and those engaged in gun violence prevention. Please let us know in the booking request if any of these categories fit you.
