Spacious, light, with old-word charm, this apartment is exquisitely set in one of the trendiest areas of Cape Town, close to the boutiques and eateries of Kloof Street and just over the hill from the beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton. In spite of this central position it is tranquilly set in greenery and with magnificent mountain views. It is secure and includes a secure off-street parking. Since the last review the bathroom has been entirely renovated, unlimited wifi and washer included.

Fantastic views of Lion's Head and Table Mountain

My second stay in this wonderful apartment and neighbourhood was again truly great. I would recommend it to everybody and certainly stay here again if I am so lucky as to visit Cape Town in the future. By the way, the host is also a great yoga teacher so if you feel like you need some stressing-down during your stay..

It is a great location, good space, and count with the facility that you will need. The view from the place is a extra bonus.

We had a great first stay in Cape Town thanks to Nadia's kind welcome and her lovely apartment. Nadia took the time to show us around the flat and was very flexible in communications. The apartment is part of a quiet and safe court and a surrounding garden with beautiful trees and flowers and sweet, playful cats. Magnificent views from the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living space over the city and harbour, Deavils Peak and Table Mountain as well as Lions Head and Signal Hill. The apartment itself is very nicely decorated and has everything thats needed for a comfy stay. When you open the big windows in the living room you're practically sitting outside and there is also the shared balcony next to the kitchen. The apartment is perfectly located when you want to hike up Lions Head, Table Mountain or Deavils Peak (there is a great track directly from the neighbourhood up Signal Hill/ Lions Head). Also, its near the incredibly wonderful beach of Camps Bay (we even walked there once) and at walking distance to historical Cape Town city center. A big supermarket and other shops are 2 blocks away and so are a number of nice tearooms, café's, restaurants and bars. We can recommend a.o. the pub and café-restaurant The Power & The Glory, and for breakfast and lunch The Blue Café. We were sad to leave! And hope to be back some day!

We had a wonderful stay in this charming and comfortable apartment with wonderful views of the mountain. Nadia, our hostess, was friendly and helpful. The bathroom has been recently remodelled and has a fresh Moroccan feel. The position is fantastic in this quaint area so close to the centre and Kloof street, and yet is so peaceful.

Nadia met us and showed us around the flat. She was helpful and friendly. The flat was sunny with lovely big windows and in a very quiet area. The building felt secure. There are lovely views of the city and of Table mountain from the kitchen/outside corridor, and of Lions Head from the living room windows. Once we had settled in the flat, we tried to shower and discovered that the shower didn't work. We informed Nadia who apologised and then bought a plastic shower attachment to attach onto the bath taps, which failed to work properly as it kept popping off. So we bathed instead for our stay there. We tried to change the bed sheet to discover that one of the replacement sheets was threadbare and the other had stains on it. Nadia bought a new fitted sheet once we told her. Also the hallway light bulb was blown so she brought a replacement bulb which worked fine after I replaced it. We had to pay additional money for extra WiFi data allowance, as the 2GB provided wouldn't have lasted long. The mattress was too soft and unfortunately caused us back pain as we are used to a more supportive firmer mattress. The bathroom basin plughole was dirty and on telling Nadia so she cleaned it when she came passed to drop off the shower attachment. She said that the cleaner she employed to clean the flat should have cleaned it previously. The above-mentioned may sound trivial, but for a long stay we would have expected a more welcoming environment, instead of us having to find out all the problems along the way. The flat would be fine for a few days as it was, but we were there for 19 days so perhaps was too long in a flat like it was. Nadia said that she is redoing/updating the bathroom very soon. We are sure that once she does so, and makes sure all is in working order, and gets a new mattress, etc, that the flat will be more worthy of a more positive review, as it had good potential.

This is a very unfortunate and in many ways - I believe - misrepresentative review. It is centrally important to me to make my guests entirely happy and I go to a great extent to do this. I unfortunately only discovered that the hot water was not working in the shower when Brian pointed it out. I was prepared to go to a much greater extent to have it repaired but it was Brian who insisted that the plastic shower fitting would be fine. I went to get it as well as another alternative. We tried it, he said it was fine. Had he told me before the last week that it was popping off I would have looked into solutions. It is true that I will be doing an entire renovation of the bathroom in the next month. Though it sounds like I was misrepresentative about the Wifi situation, I was actually totally upfront with Brian about it. I told him in fact in my second message to him - after confirming to him that the flat would be available. Either which way I will put it in the write-up and the system will be updated soon. At R710 a night (what I got) for a lovely flat in a very sought-after area in Cape Town I don't believe I was being unreasonable in this department. 2.5 Gigs is fine just for email and searching websites though it won't be enough for video's I acknowledge the embarrassing oversight with the plugholes and the sheets. Unfortunately it is true, it is a learning game. The sheets were clean though the one was stained and the other a little threadbare - I did not check them properly before putting them out. I will be much more conscious of these in future and have already purchased more bedding. But with regards to the mattress, had Brian told me that they were finding it too soft I might have suggested that they turn it around as the other side is much harder. It is actually a very good quality mattress that I love and I have not had compaints before. I have since asked others who stayed in the flat what they thought of it - one (with back problems) actually said that they got less backache from it than from their new, hard good quality mattress at home. Responses to mattresses are so subjective but I will continue to look into it as I certainly don't want a repeat of this response. Thank you to Brian though for acknowledging some of the good points of the flat

Nadia's sister met me when I arrived and showed me round (and her mother came round too, so I really felt a warm welcome into the family!) I met Nadia before I left and she was a super helpful and generous host, offering to get me anything I needed. The flat is charming with fantastic views of Table Mountain on one side and gardens on the other. It is in a small residential block in a very quiet area and the neighbours were very nice too. Although there is no washing machine there is drying area in the garden and a laundromat very nearby. The location is perfect. Tamboerskloof is a leafy, quiet and safe area but is also not far from the city centre and seafront, and a short walk to supermarkets, restaurants and bars in Kloof Street. if you don't have car the bus stop is at the end of the road and the bus takes you down to the city centre with onwards connections to other parts of the city, train station etc. In the other direction it takes you to the gorgeous Camps Bay and Clifton beaches.
