Nadia met us and showed us around the flat. She was helpful and friendly. The flat was sunny with lovely big windows and in a very quiet area. The building felt secure. There are lovely views of the city and of Table mountain from the kitchen/outside corridor, and of Lions Head from the living room windows.
Once we had settled in the flat, we tried to shower and discovered that the shower didn't work. We informed Nadia who apologised and then bought a plastic shower attachment to attach onto the bath taps, which failed to work properly as it kept popping off. So we bathed instead for our stay there. We tried to change the bed sheet to discover that one of the replacement sheets was threadbare and the other had stains on it. Nadia bought a new fitted sheet once we told her. Also the hallway light bulb was blown so she brought a replacement bulb which worked fine after I replaced it. We had to pay additional money for extra WiFi data allowance, as the 2GB provided wouldn't have lasted long.
The mattress was too soft and unfortunately caused us back pain as we are used to a more supportive firmer mattress. The bathroom basin plughole was dirty and on telling Nadia so she cleaned it when she came passed to drop off the shower attachment. She said that the cleaner she employed to clean the flat should have cleaned it previously.
The above-mentioned may sound trivial, but for a long stay we would have expected a more welcoming environment, instead of us having to find out all the problems along the way. The flat would be fine for a few days as it was, but we were there for 19 days so perhaps was too long in a flat like it was.
Nadia said that she is redoing/updating the bathroom very soon.
We are sure that once she does so, and makes sure all is in working order, and gets a new mattress, etc, that the flat will be more worthy of a more positive review, as it had good potential.
