The drives and view sites towards Gordon's Bay offer whale sightings and sunsets supreme! The World famous penguin protection site is a must to visit! Buck sightings are quite common. Guests should be aware of baboons in the whole area! Please do not leave doors and windows open when unattended. Never feed or approach baboons!
Baboons do not frequent after dark, usually. Never have in our experience. There are some good restaurants and coffee shops for breakfast, lunch and supper in Betty's Bay as well as Kleinmond, 10 klm away. Hermanus has many wonderful restaurants as does Gordon's Bay, Strand, Somerset West and of course, Cape Town!
SPECIAL NOTE: I AM ABLE TO OFFER GUESTS LESSONS FOR ENGLISH FOREIGN LANGUAGE. LONGER STAYS ARE REQUIRED. A PACKAGE DEAL CAN BE NEGOTIATED.
We are peaceful, nature-loving folk and do not appreciate loud partying or loud music in the home environment. No smoking in and around bedroom please. No cooking in bedroom area. There is a closed in balcony with glass sliding doors against the original railing. So views of mountain, lake and sea are uninterrupted!
The balcony has place to sit and enjoy snacks or light meals. There is a small fridge as well as a microwave oven and small glass oven for guests to use. The room is not self-catering so used dishes are placed in a special spot to be collected and cleaned and replaced! So a real holiday!
The room has amazing views! Mountain, lake, sea and far distance views.
No pets please. We have 2 dogs who love friendly people. They bark a greeting, but once introduced, are friendly. They are good watchdogs for baboons too! We have security with a fenced property and a remote control gate. Guests have their own remote for the gate.
Up early to walk with our two dogs, love the outdoors and travel, hardly miss a stunning sunrise, early 50's, married to Mark, enjoy people and nature. I am a remedial teacher by profession, and we love God the Creator of this amazing place!

THE BALCONY has been closed in with large glass sliding doors against the original railings to offer the same views but now with all weather protection. In the balcony room is a microwave oven, small fridge and mini glass oven. The unit is not actually self catering but food may be heated and even cooked here. Used utensils are left in a tub in a spot to be collected by myself. They are then replaced as soon as possible, cleaned. (Bonus!) There is a also a kettle for coffees and teas with rusks and biscuits. Yogurts and fresh milk and water are in the fridge for daily needs.
