The stone walls of the original Provence house have been preserved. New tiled concrete floors have been laid and a third floor and balcony, overlooking the street, added. The ground floor entrance hall gives access to a large double bedroom with a capacious built-in wardrobe. Over the hallway and through a large laundry/utility room, there is a bathroom with bath (shower over), bidet, WC and hand basin. There is also a shower room with WC and hand basin.
On the second floor there is a large bed-sitting room and another bedroom containing a double bed and a single bed open onto the long balcony with glazed overhanging canopy. There is a table on the balcony at which you can sit and watch both the Pernois going about their daily activities in the sunny south of France, and the occasional visitor, travel guide in hand.
The first floor has a large living/dining room and a separate kitchen. There is an electric oven, electric hotplates and a Microwave oven. In the living room there is a portable radio with CD and cassette player, a colour television and telephone. The telephone service allows calls within France, Europe and to Australia but not to Mobiles. Internet is available in the cottage. Off the stair hall on this floor there is a toilet with WC and hand basin.
The ground floor bedroom has a very large wardrobe and shutters opening out. Bathroom ground floor with shower and bath. Upstairs has ensuite. Toilet 1st floor. Lounge dining room with view out over Pernes, Provence. Comfortable seating.
Air conditioning has recently been installed in the cottage so that you can return to a lovely, cool house after a day spent exploring.

The cottage is managed locally by a French lady who lives nearby.
Before retirement, I was a lecturer in music, and my husband was an architect. Together, we have five grown children in Australia. My interests and passions include early music, history, art, French culture and food, all of which I can indulge in during my regular trips to France. I hope that you will love our cottages and their historic villages as much as we do.
