This updated original Big Canoe home is located on a middle ridge in the North Lakeside neighborhood of this award winning mountain community. Mountains and woods surround you from every side in this cabin and Lake Petit is viewable from a short walk away. Features like the large sunroom, 4 seat stone counter top, a stone fireplace, and a full bath in the loft create more space and ambiance for family and friends to gather. The kitchen, living space, and two bathrooms were recently remodeled in craftsman style with bead board paneling and ceiling (Master vanity updates soon). Unplug from your stress and relax! Interact and kick back! It's a great place to get away and relax in peaceful mountains or have some great fun, indoors or out in the surrounding natural beauty.
Access in the home is to all living areas (with the exception of an owner's closet). Arriving in Big Canoe, you stop for a gate pass at the Main, or North gate, and get a gate pass for each vehicle in your party to use during your stay for reentry as you please. The gate staff can also provide a map and directions to the home's neighborhood, or to the central area of Wolfscratch Village. You will be supplied written directions to the home from the owner before your arrival as well. We recommend you arrive in daylight if possible, as the winding mountain roads are easier to navigate before dark. Golf, gym, pools, boating, fishing and other lake activities are available fee basis in the community. Cabin will come with 4 guest wristbands to access both outdoor pools and all Disharoon Lake recreation, including the 200 foot rock slide (Memorial to Labor Day).

Другие важные подробности
Big Canoe has 3 lakes with fishing and boat rentals, 2 swimming pools, 27 holes of golf, tennis and boccie ball courts (cabin has a boccie set), and plenty of hiking trails. There is also a jeep trail if you have a 4 wheel drive. Big Canoe is a nature preserve (shoot only pictures!). Deer, turkey and even black bear make appearances. Yet with all to do inside the gates, BC is close to other Georgia outdoor recreation like Amicalola Falls State Park, The Appalachian Trail, Dawsonville Wildlife Management areas, and the Amicalola River. Quaint mountain villages of Jasper, Talking Rock, Ellijay, and Blue RIdge are a short drive away. Go to (URL HIDDEN) for more community info.
Big Canoe has strict environmental rules designed to maintain natural and peaceful mountain living. Noise should be kept under control, however music and movies going very late has never been an issue (DVD movies or your Bluetooth music available). Please be courteous, especially after 10 PM. Fire, however is a HUGE concern here, of course. The fine for lighting any outdoor fire is $5,000! Care needs to be taken with with anything burning or embers such as candles, incense, or smoking on the deck. Just DO NOT throw butts or anything off the deck, or anywhere! (Ash bucket on front deck, ashtray on fireplace or use an empty bottle.) Smokey greets you on the way in with reminders. Fireworks and firearm discharging are strictly prohibited.
Dogs are welcome in this home and there is a large bed pillow in the master for them as well as bowls and leashes. Please send breed and age with your request to book. You are required to leash your pets outdoors. Walks with dogs are great in this area, just take along a baggie (or grab a stick to flick poop into the woods). Please kennel your dog when not in the cabin with them. It's all good, when caution is taken, and courtesy is foremost. Enjoy!!
I am a retired Systems Analyst and musician, now making music again for a life (not so much for a living!). I love the outdoors, especially hiking which is what attracted me to the GA mountains and this beautiful nature preserve community for a vacation home.
