Cathryn with her family was actually one of that guests which arrive once in a year and is not satisfied with absolutely anything. It started when I met them in front of the house; they even refused to shake the hand with me – Non of them! And that really annoyed me standing there and tried to give them hand and realizing the only who gave me hand were the drivers who brought them from the airport, that was quite embarrassing, maybe they not use to and everyone was looking at me like just eating sour candy Skittles. This whole family seemed to me to be quite depressed and frustrated somehow maybe from the long way journey maybe so I’ve tried to be polite and make some jokes which actually didn’t help much, definitely didn’t look like happy people on holiday, all of them sad and annoyed even the days after, so it wasn’t from the long way journey. To some of my guests I’m not able to help and I’m not responsible for their feelings, I felt like it was not in my power even if I would solve every single of their problem wouldn’t be enough.
She has complained about 3 light bulbs missing where I don’t understand where the bulbs disappeared because they were there my cleaner said and the lamp was fully working. In the end it was only one bulb missing because they didn’t know how to turn the light on, so I lighted up for them. Then she felt good as boss trying to dictate in my house. What really surprised me that Cathryn wanted to wash at least 5 washing machines of cloths, I gave her access to my second property where I have washing machine which solved the problem, but she complained she has to carry the clothes too far (10meters) it would be better if I move the washing machine for here, well, I asked her how many more washing machines is she planning to do and we were talking about two more washing machines, so I kindly advised her it will be easier for me to take the wet cloth and move it that 10 meters for her instead of taking the whole washing machine to the bathroom next door. I could see that she wasn’t happy at all so I told her let’s move the washing machine because I want you to be happy here, in the mean time she already turned on the next washing machine, so I offered her that I will move the washing machine for her next door for the last round. I had a little bit feeling that she tried to step into position like she would be my boss, however she was my guest which she realized later.
What annoyed me at the end if we already started with complains and negatives here, they left the property even didn’t call me they are leaving, just send me a message with complaint the midnight before they left about some leak, ”there is water coming out of ceiling”, well obviously if you overfill the bath and the water starts to go over on the floor and it soaks through the ceiling - the only thing what she replied to me when I found out in the morning there is no leak just the bath was overfilled by some member of her family was: "I’m happy for you there is no leak for you, it looked like leak" Well, if they would be fair and honest, they would be willing to pay for their mistake and pay for painting which was needed to do after overfilling the bath in first floor .. To be honest I was quite disappointed by these guests from Michigan, they didn’t really represent their country very well Guests like this I rather don’t invite second time and rather recommend some hotel for the future.
My general advice is If you despise me and my land, then don’t visit my country because nobody invited you here to complain, I gave you everything I could and what was in description of the advert and it wasn’t enough so the main problem I see is despising, because we are from US and you are just eastern Europe. However we are the heart of Europe dear madam, and If you not happy with the same what another 100 groups marked as satisfying , then as I said do not visit this country as it is simply too cheap for you, not suitable to your needs you are use to from your country.
