Our 1800 square foot country home is spacious with incredible views of the Amish Countryside from the top of our hill. Fully furnished with a full kitchen, bedroom and large loft area with separate 2nd bathroom. Large deck off the back.
Beautiful, new construction, open concept, 1800 sq/ft home with loft overlooking Amish Country and Brush Creek Church. Light and airy home with spectacular views of Amish Country, located high on a hill. Home includes a full kitchen, first floor bedroom with queen size bed and attached bathroom and large living area with 21 foot ceilings. There is a king size bed in the loft and second full bathroom. Also in the loft is a TV DVD viewing area with a couch that opens into a full size bed if needed. You can bring DVDs to watch, but we do not have Cable or TV reception so be aware of that. We do have internet and the TV has Netflix and you tube attached to the TV set up so you are welcome to log in as a guest and use those services. There is also a Nordic Track treadmill on the first floor set up to overlook the valley for your personal use (beautiful walk/run!).
Watch the Amish harvest their fields from your deck and hear the distant clip clop of horse drawn buggies as they pass on the road down in the valley. We are 1/2 mile off the main road and located directly in the heart of numerous Amish Shops including furniture, bakeries (too many to count), leather/tack/harness, log home builders, cheese factories, candy, fabric, quilt, and various types of handiwork shops. Amish tours are available just up the road from us at "Down A Country Road".
We are also 3 miles from the beautiful Kickapoo River with canoe/kayak rental and world famous horseback riding at Wildcat Mountain State Park. The state park also has well marked/mapped walking trails with breathtaking views.
The Ontario/Cashton area boasts some of the best bicycling roads in the country including designated bike lanes between Ontario and LaFarge.
The home is attached to our home, but entirely separate. We can be there for you if you need anything or want advise regarding the area, but otherwise your experience can be as private as you would like.
You are welcome to walk our trails (weather permitting) or visit the chickens and partake of fresh organic eggs. We have a few cows out in the fenced fields as well.
Other attractions include:
The Sparta/Elroy bike trail or the Lacrosse River Bike Trail.
Golf on any of three public courses within 20 miles or so.
Boat or take a cruise on the Mississippi River in Lacrosse
Snowboard or ski at Mt. Lacrosse
Please note, we are strictly a no smoking, no pets facility. We also clean with environmentally friendly products and stay as scent free as possible for the comfort of our sensitive guests.
Guests are welcome to hike and explore our property. We have a few trails through our woods. We also have a few organic cows and chickens.

Interaction is completely up to our guests. If you have any questions, we are happy to assist you. We have taken a few guests on hikes of the property as well as directed them around the Amish countryside. We leave maps as well. Anything we can do to help!!! ****ALSO note...U.S. Cellular gets great service around our area, but Verizon and AT&T are not so good. Republic also seems to do fine in conjunction to our wireless internet for some reason. You may want to pick up an area map if your phone will not navitage with GPS.
We hope you will come and relax and enjoy the breathtaking surroundings of the beautiful driftless region. We have a STRICT NO SMOKING policy and no pets allowed. We clean with environmentally friendly products and wash all sheets in fragrance free laundry soap made from homemade soap...plain and pure. We ask that you remove shoes upon entering as we have white carpet throughout. We also ask that if the weather is warm, you refrain from running the fireplace along with the air-conditioner as the two work against each other. We try to be respectful of guests and their privacy, but remember that it is also our family home next door. We welcome you to wander around property, see the animals and walk the trails (be aware that there is an electric fence surrounding the cows area). We totally leave you to yourself unless you have any questions. We are here to help, but want to respect your privacy as well.

We are a homeschooling/alternative schooling family living in Cashton, WI and have been here for 17 years now. We originate from the Chicago area and both my husband and I graduated from Wheaton College. We own our own business, Olde Wisconsin Hearth, and look forward to having others share this beautiful countryside by opening the other side of our home AND log cabin a vacation rentals. (other side has private entrance and is not open to our home, yet it's attached) The first comment we hear from visitors is "wow what a beautiful view". We have 7 children that we homeschooled (only 3 left at home now).
We love art, the CREATOR, the creation, anything organic and people of all backgrounds, ideas, shapes and sizes!!!! If I had my way....I would be in nature most of the time. We enjoy the great outdoors and love this area of Wisconsin with all of our wonderful Amish neighbors and hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do. Welcome!!!!
