Very sorry that you were disappointed with your stay. It is a bit of a conundrum with wanting to enable people to see the vast ocean & park, but yet not have large windows to do it with. We chose to have the windows, but provide curtains which can be shut rather than no or small windows (or high windows) where you have no choice but to not see outside very well.
Another conundrum with this being our house as well as guest accommodations as we do have 2 small children (2 & 5 yrs old), who are up early to go to school. We do try to keep them quiet, but sometimes they "pitter-patter" around. At least we have them trained to stay off the deck below! :)
Thanks for the suggestion re: napkins. It is a bit of a balancing act. We tried giving napkins a few years ago, but people suggested that paper towels would be better as they could use it as napkins and to wipe up spills.
Then we tried paper towels & people said that they couldn't use it as facial tissue, so now we provide Kleenex. We also used to provide makeup wipes and recently switched to grey clothes for makeup remover.
We did spend an immense amount of time & effort to provide (almost) everything a person could want from full fridge, stove, & dishwasher, to picnic baskets & plastic cutlery to take to the beach to a full set of BBQ utensils, to the welcome basket of local goodies in case you arrive late after the store closes, to lobster crackers, oyster shuckers, plus many more amenities upon request such as beach chairs, beach towels, baby items, blender, and more. Looks like we can't seem to get it right with the paper products though! :)
Oh well, please try to have fun in the rest of your travels & know that we really did try our best to give you a very special stay at Canada's Rotating House.
