My simple, comfortable and affordable cottages are located near the tip of the Door Peninsula and a short walk from the village of Gills Rock, a favorite destination for fishing, kaying, hiking and cycling. The area boasts some of the best fishing in Door County.
The cottages are a short drive from the rugged, unspoiled beauty of Newport State Park, a semi-wilderness area offering hiking, swimming from an expansive sand beach, and nature activities.
You can also enjoy a trip on an excursion boat or the Washington Island Ferry across the beauty of Death's Door Passage to Washington Island, the oldest Icelandic settlement in North America. Divers can explore shipwrecks remarkably well preserved in the cold water of Death's Door.
A spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display, unique shops, fresh and smoked fish, an excellent restaurant, and the Maritime Museum are some of the things that make Gills Rock a special place to stay. The many performances, restaurants, galleries and shops of Door County are also easily accessible.
We are across the street from the bay, and have limited water views.

I am an artist and have lived in many places in the United States and in other parts of the world including France, the Middle East and Asia. I always come home to Northern Door County where I find a unique natural and restorative environment. I love to swim in the lakes, bike on the back roads, hike in the forests and grow food in my garden. I enjoy a good meal and a beautiful sunset over the bay in Door County...something which in all my travels has never been surpassed.
The cottages reflect the style of lodging I have appreciated most in my travels.
