Gorgeous, cosy yet spacious 17th Century cottage nestled in the tiny village of Bowland Bridge.
Lovely walks from the house, and only a short drive to Lake Windermere and Kendal. The perfect place to stay for local strolls, fell walks, cycle rides, wild swimming or just curling up by the fire with a book.
The village boasts a lovely cafe/shop and two pubs serving great food and ale.
This is a 17th Century cottage full of character and original features. The woodburners are fuelled by wood from our own woodland up the road and make the cottage cosy in the winter.
The bedroom is nice and light with a window that opens up for fresh air and the morning birdsong, while the shutters can be closed for a good, dark night's sleep.
The modern bathroom has a big bathtub and good shower.
Private bedroom with mostly-private bathroom (with bath and shower), downstairs living room, kitchen and garden.

You'll have lots of privacy at Rose Cottage. We're very happy to offer suggestions of places to visit, lovely walks in the area etc. Feel free to join us for a cuppa before you settle in if you fancy. Feel equally free to be as private as you like.
If you're staying for more than one night, we ask you to vacate the house from 11am - 4pm as we often work from home.

Breakfast provided for you to help yourself to in the morning. Along the lines of good coffee, free range local eggs, bread, muesli, juice etc.
If you're staying for more than 1 night we ask you to vacate the house between 11am - 4pm as we often work from home.
We have 2 cats. If we're away you'll have the house to yourselves but will be asked to feed the cats. They do occasionally bring in a little 'gift' in the form of a mouse (for which it is customary to express one's gratitude. Or just keep your bedroom door closed!)
To help keep the floor mud free, we're a no-shoes-house. The floor can be a bit chilly so do bring thick socks or a pair of slippers!
Please wash up after breakfast.
For guests staying more than one night, we ask you to be out of the house between 11am - 4pm. We work from home and use the house for meetings, rehearsals etc.
If we're away during your stay, we may request that you feed our 2 friendly cats.

Emily & Nick are both professional storytellers. We love books and music - evidenced by a house full of books and instruments! We travel a lot as part of our work, but also love exploring the world, from London to Stockholm to India. When we're not on the road, we enjoy the gorgeous Lake District on our doorstep with walks in the fells, cycle rides, and swims in the nearby lakes. (Well, sometimes...)
We love having guests in our home, and enjoy sharing this beautiful part of the world with others. We're always very happy to make suggestions of places to walk or visit, and have been known to share the occasional favourite secret wild swimming location or damson picking spot.
