Our semi-detached house is located in Petershause in the former so-called "Sternenviertel" ("star quarter") in Konstanz. We are located within walking distance to the shores of Lake Constance, shopping areas and bus stops with direct connections to the city centre (one stop just a few meters from the front door). Our house has a garden with various grills and a smoker which you are welcome to use. Beneath the roof there is a comfortable 28 square meter guest apartment with individual charm that is well suited for three adults or two adults with two children. The apartment consists of two separate main rooms: a bedroom with a large, comfortable double bed, and a living and eating area with a pullout sofa bed for additional guests. The apartment has its own bathroom with shower and toilet. To access the apartment guests use the common stairs. Upstairs you will enjoy full privacy and a well equipped apartment which includes free WIFI, satellite TV with VHS-player and an eclectic collection of videos for a rainy day, a kitchenette, mini-oven, refrigerator, radio/cassette player, as well as a robot vacuum cleaner. One adult or two children can sleep comfortably on the sofa bed. Guests are also welcome to use our garden and various grills and smoker. Our eight year old daughter is happy to meet other children, but also couples and singles will feel welcome and at home here. Three bus stops with direct connections to the city centre and various shopping areas can be found in front of the house or in close walking distance. Our guest apartment is also ideal for visitors with friends or relatives in the Konstanz hospital, which is only two minutes walking distance away. We will be happy to help you with insider tips of what to see and do in Konstanz and are looking forward to meeting you!
If you do not want to spend your vacation in a lifeless and anonymous hotel room but rather in a guest apartment with personal charm and atmosphere, then you will be be happy staying with us. Our house was built in 1934 and has an interesting history. It was once inhabited by Alfons Beck, a victim and survivor of nazism for whom there is a tripping-stone memorial in the Bodanstrasse in Konstanz. Before the war Beck was an active communist, and after buying the house we found many relics and items that attest to Beck's history, including a printing press in the basement with which Beck used to print anti-nazi material. We found many other historical items, books, furniture, photographs and paintings which now hang in the guest apartment and we invite you to look, discover and travel back in time. We consciously left many quaint and interesting documents in the shelves and drawers of the desk and reading corner, including, for example, a brochure titled "Russia's Atombomb: its Astrology Explained," which we simply found too curious and fascinating to pack away. There is much to discover in our clean and well cared for guest apartment with modern comforts and amenities. Should you have questions, need help or want tips you will find your friendly hosts right outside the doorstep. If you want solitude and privacy, than you can simply escape into the cozy apartment, relax on the sofa in front of the TV or lounge on the bed with a good book.
The city of Konstanz has a visitor's tax of 2.00 Euros per night for each visitor over 16 years of age. For this, guests receive a guest pass with which they can ride city buses for free. The guest pass also provides numerous discounts and reductions around the lake.
