Regency Retreat is a charming Grade II Listed townhouse on Ramsgate's historical square.
It is perfectly located - the beach and the Marina with all its coffee shops, galleries and antiques shops is less than a 5 minutes walk. Waitrose is 3 minutes walk.
The house dates back to the early 1800's and the decor is in keeping with the period of the building whilst maintaining an easy and relaxed seaside atmosphere - it is a stylish but homely building perfect for families and couples.
The four story Regency period house is comprised of a kitchen/dining room, ground floor through sitting room and formal dining room, and two bedrooms. It also has an outside terrace, perfect for drying swimming costumes and towels. Or, alternatively you can throw them into the washer/drier. It has two WCs - a family bathroom and a small upstairs loo.
The bedrooms are one master with a double bed and one with two single beds. We also have a travel cot and blow up mattress. The house has broadband and a large TV with freeview. The house is arranged over four floors and the stair are somewhat steep and narrow. When our children were toddlers, we encouraged them to go down the stairs backwards and never had any trouble with the stairs that way.
It is s stylish but comfortable house with wi-fi, TV, DVD player, bluetooth speakers and a fully equipped kitchen so you can enjoy a nespresso coffee in the morning before heading out to enjoy all the town, beach and countryside have to offer.
You will have access to the whole house.
No smoking, and it is a residential area, so no events or parties.
Originally from Texas, I moved to the UK for adventure and settled in London where I now live with my husband and children.
We came to Ramsgate for the weekend one summer and never looked back. With its grand architecture, quirky character and laid back sea-side style Ramsgate is the perfect place for us to escape the routines and refocus. We were lucky to find Regency Retreat back in 2007 - nearly all of its features and wood panneling are original, dating beck to the early 1800's. We decorated in keeping with the age of the building whilst maintaining an easy and relaxed charm.
It is perfect for families and couples and I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
