This grand 1908 home is the epitome of sophistication, close to The Presidio, Fillmore, and Laurel Village shops and restaurants. It is filled with classic details and luxury amenities, two gardens, and fabulous cooking and entertaining spaces.
This is an historic 1908 home in the Mediterranean style, designed by Carl Mueseldorffer, a noted SF architect. It was the home of Senator Dianne Feinstein when she was Mayor of San Francisco, and was featured in Architectural Digest when it was owned by decorator Suzanne Tucker. It is made of wood, so please do not smoke in the house, and do not leave candles unattended! Rooms have high ceilings and lovely molding and detailing. It is filled with books, which you are welcome to peruse, and is home to our family which includes two college-age children and three dogs. It is designed to be warm and inviting, but still refined. We hope you enjoy the space as much as we have.
The entire house is available for you. The spacious chef's kitchen is well stocked with equipment and supplies and a large dining area, and the gracious dining room comfortably seats twelve. There are three bedrooms plus private professor's study with rollaway bed on the second floor, and two airy bedrooms and a media/sleeping room with two large sofas on the third floor. A deck on the back overlooks the terraced garden, and a welcoming English garden in front is a perfect venue for cocktails or a contemplative moment.

Jennifer will be available by text and email, and will be there to welcome you and explain the workings of the house. We have a wonderful network of people to help you, upon request: housekeeper, chef, bartender, waiter, photographer, tour guide, driver, dog walker, florist....you name it! The house will only be occupied by your party during the duration of your stay. When the house is occupied by guests, Jennifer lives in a separate suite in the basement with a separate entrance.
Другие важные подробности
There are beehives in the lower back garden. They are fascinating to watch from the deck and are very docile as long as you stay approximately 3 feet away from their hive. In three years, I have had one bee sting, and that was my fault. If you happen to get stung and are allergic, there is a bee sting epi-pen in the kitchen. They do not approach the upper deck or front garden at all.
Also, we have two retrievers who will not be in the main house when you are there. As much as we try to thoroughly clean, the random black dog hair experience is a possibility. Our dogs are not allowed on any furniture or beds.
Please be respectful and responsible for our home, which we are so happy to share. We trust our guests to be responsible and leave things in good order as they found them, to be careful as they would in a friend's home. If you want furniture moved, please ask for permission from Jennifer before. I'll try to configure things to suit you. Also, please no overnight guests beyond those who have reserved the home. Please NO gatherings or parties of 10+ people without explicit prior written permission, and quiet for the neighbors after 11pm. This is a serene neighborhood that is not used to disruption. Thank you!
I am a writer with far-flung interests and a penchant for people. I am the author of books and articles on style, art and travel. I also write corporate financial reports and marketing materials, which reflects my previous career managing a service-oriented healthcare business for seniors. I also serve as a board member of nonprofit organizations; the fabric of our communities is much stronger when everyone has an opportunity to succeed.
I love to make people comfortable; this home reflects that, along with a desire for functionality, luxury and beauty. I am fortunate to live in one of the most magical places in the world. Sharing this home allows me to travel and ensures that someone is always able to appreciate this vibrant, diverse, and delightful City by the Bay.
