Alexandra's Archontiko is a traditional-style Pelion mansion that has been architect redesigned into four separate suites. Perfect for friends or families, you can rent one or all four units and explore this authentic corner of Pelion, Greece.
Get away from it all, away from the tourist traps in this traditional Pelion mansion, called an "archontiko," in the special village of Trikeri, Greece.
This archontiko, which was the site of my grandmother Alexandra's childhood home, has been completely architect re-designed into four individual self-contained apartments/ studio suites. Alexandra's Archontiko is ideal for a couples or family with a couple kids. Gather together in the lush garden at the communal wooden table, to sip coffee in the morning or grill and dine al fresco in the evenings. Explore the unique villages of this corner of Pelion, or visit the many nearby crystal turquoise water beaches. Sailing, scuba, and other activities nearby.
There are four apartments available for you to choose from (we will also rent these apartments together for a special price if you are planning to travel with a group of friends- ask us about it). The host will be staying in the 5th apartment. Each has a similar design, with some variations, and we name the rooms by the color accent used in each (Yellow, Blue, Turquoise and Red). Each has a private bath with shower, new custom kitchen area, wooden table and chairs, one double bed, and two twin beds, that can also be used as sofa seating during the day. Each has beautiful village and sea views. There are two shared balconies with breathtaking views from the 2nd and 3rd floors.
Yellow Apt: On the ground floor, but has access to a private entrance and it's own semi-private garden area. One main bed (small double), and two twins. Smallest, but very cheerful!
Blue Apt: 2nd floor, queen bed and two twins. Oriented more towards the sea.
Green (Turquoise) Apt: 3rd floor, queen bed and two twins. Faces both the village and the sea. Larger dining area.
Red Apt: 3rd floor, queen bed and two twins. Oriented more towards the sea. Larger dining area. Slightly larger than the Turquoise apartment.
This is a great place to get away from the busy life and experience a traditional village.
The mountain-top village of Trikeri has a beautiful traditional "plateia", or square, surrounded by cafes and restaurants serving local specialties. While you will be truly "away from it all", as it is the last village on the Pelion peninsula, there is a regular farmer's market, a small supermarket (across the street), butchery, and pharmacy.
You can go swimming in the lower seaside village of Agia Kyriaki (accessible by the scenic historical cobblestone walking path "calderini", or, of course, by taxi/car/bus). From there you can also call for a water taxi to pick you up from the port and take you to one of many beautiful local beaches, or even for an excursion to Trikeri Island, where you can visit the historical monastery and dine at some delicious restaurants.
We have lots of suggestions of where to go and what to do on your visit, and we'll be happy to share with you! Please get in touch with any questions.
You will have access to the apartments you rent, and the common balconies and gardens, with large common table. There is an outdoor grill which can be used with proper instruction, depending on the weather.

There is a 5th apartment, where the host will be staying. This will likely be my uncle, Vangelis, who is the award-winning architect who redesigned the villa. He is extremely knowledgeable about the region, and all corners of Greece, and can give you advice on where to eat, swim, or visit if you would like. He will welcome you like a friend staying at our home. You will be able to ask him for anything you need while you are staying with us, although you will also have your freedom to remain more private if you like.
Другие важные подробности
The house is located on the main street, which will allow you to easily access it by car (some parts of the village are not reachable by car). While the village is fairly small, and is often quiet, there is traffic on that road (as it is the main road that connects Trikeri to the port village of Agia Kyriaki), so there may be noise from the street. The village is busiest during July and August.
There will be sheets and bath towels provided for each apartment. However, we ask you to please bring your own beach towels. Racks are provided to hang your beach towels and clothing for drying on the balconies after your beach visits.
Your reservation includes the fee for one cleaning of the entire villa before your your stay. If you would like additional cleanings of the apartments during your stay, they are available, and can be arranged with us directly or upon arrival.
The exterior wooden shutters of the windows in each apartment should be locked in place (open or shut) at all times, as sudden winds can slam the shutters and damage them. In case of rain, the guest will need to make sure the windows are shut.
Each apartment has a mini kitchenette and refrigerator. Basic cooking utensils and dishes are provided, and more can be requested from the host if needed. The outdoor barbecue can be used with instruction from the host, and depending on the weather conditions. The outdoor yard is available to all for your enjoyment and group dining. Please be careful to extinguish any candles and the barbecue before leaving the area for the night.
Please limit smoking to outdoors on the balconies or in the yard. Please use provided ash trays (and empty them as needed).
We want you to make yourself at home, and to let us know if we can help you with anything. Please respect our many traditional artifacts and hand-made curtains and tablecloths - many made by my grandmother herself. We have left them there for your enjoyment of a traditional Pelion home.

Growing up, my sister and I spent almost every summer in Greece visiting my family, and have some of my happiest childhood memories in Trikeri and Agia Kyriaki, my grandmother Alexandra's village. Now I am bringing my own daughter to visit, and build some of the same wonderful memories I treasure so much.
Depending on when you might visit, my mother (Voula) and sister (Alexia) or I (Christi) may be there to meet you, though my uncle who lives full time in Greece will very likely be there to meet you and make sure you have everything you need, and tell you about all the best places to visit.
My uncle speaks Greek and English. And between my sister, brother-in-law, husband and I, we can also help arrange your visit with native Russian, native Spanish and fluent French, and depending on the timing of your visit, we may be there to meet you.
My uncle, an award-winning architect in Greece, has renovated my grandmother's traditional Pelion mansion, "Alexandra's Archontiko," to have all the modern comforts, while decorating them with traditional accents. I am excited to introduce more people to this unique and incredible village - it is not a typical commercial island vacation. Alexandra's Achontiko is in Trikeri, the mountain-top village center, but there are several small villages that belong to the Trikeri community. We also have a beautiful water-front apartment in one of these communities, Agia Kyriaki, the main seaside port village that the local fishermen are based. There is good food, incredible waters, ancient olive groves, and traditional Pelion architecture throughout. All my friends that have visited are left with the fondest memories of this, my tiny corner of Greece.
