We really enjoyed our week in Suna in Ursula's gorgeous and unusual house. Its location is superb, 3 minutes walk to the lakeshore, we went swimming every morning before breakfast. Lovely local bar at the end of our street, great local shop two streets away and Lidl, only ten minutes walk, through the village back streets, wonderfully shady in the heat. The house is unique, beautifully restored, spotlessly clean and with everything you need. Outside stairs connect the three floors and there is a bijou balcony for an early morning coffee. Suna and nearby Pallanza are gorgeous, lots of options for trips on the lake to the islands, local buses cheap and reliable, local 'city bikes' renattal from hotel, but not for the faitnhearted as they're very heavy, but you can rent proper bikes elsewhere if going on serious cycles. You can take the Lake Maggiore express, not cheap at 34 euros each but it was great day out, through amazing landscape, deep gorges and mountain villages to Locarno Switzerland and back by ferry. Urusla made us feel really welcome, she picked us up from the train at Verbania on arrival and really kindly offered to bring us back there the following Sunday, we were delighted to take up her offer. She is a wonderful host. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet break with some great swimming, beautiful scenery, and friendly atmosphere, with great food and wine.
