Our 170-year-old log cabin is located on one acre at the foot of Grandfather Mountain. It sleeps four - five guests, has a fully-equipped kitchen, one and a half baths and laundry. The nightly rate varies depending on the season & local happenings.
We renovated our tiny house and completed that project on March 1, 2017. It's about 35 yards from the cabin. There is a chance that guests will be staying there while you occupy the cabin. Please let us know if you have questions!
Our cabin has two bedrooms with king-sized beds upstairs, along with a full bathroom and laundry. Downstairs in the cabin has a half bath, fully-equipped kitchen, living area with Wifi and Roku tv, dining areas to accommodate up to eight people plus a daybed for sleeping/reading.
You will have access to all amenities on our property. Outdoors in warmer seasons you can enjoy over an acre of our "cookie-sheet flat" land (a rarity in these mountains) with bocce ball, croquet and a slackline. We have a large grassy area for yard games and a wooded area for exploring, too. There are plenty of chairs in the yard for relaxing, reading or chatting plus a firepit to warm you on chilly night.

We live in Boone about 20 minutes from the cabin. If there is anything you need while you stay, including recommendations, let us know and we'll be happy to help!
Другие важные подробности
The cabin is centrally located to just about everything in the area. The following towns or communities are just a 10-minute drive: Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Boone. There is great access to fishing on the Watauga River, hiking and views of Grandfather Mountain, zip-lining at Seven Devils, skiing at Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain or Appalachian Ski Mountain. A full-service grocery store is only five minutes away. Also within a five-minute drive are restaurants, bars, coffee shop, day spa, hair salon, vineyard, hiking trails, park and playground, Watauga River fly-fishing and a guaranteed-catch trout farm. Also of note, we get a good cellular signal on our property.
Please take care of our property as you would your own ~ two house rules that we would like to highlight, include:
^No smoking indoors
^Please do not disturb the nature of the gas logs.

John and I met in the rocky Wasatch Mountains of Utah ~ he's from Milwaukee and moved there to ski and snowboard; I moved there to be a part of the Sundance Film Festival. We moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains (where I'm from) in 2001. John is an art metalsmith (aka jeweler) who loves to cook for our friends and family and to craft beer with his friends. I am a full-time mom who has a passion for creating art, reading good books and having a good laugh with my girlfriends. We have a five-year-old son who loves Legos, riding the bus home from kindergarten and is a superhero with all the powers in the universe. Our family loves to be outdoors, to travel to old places and explore new ones... but we're always happy to come back home to these mountains.
