It was a disaster hosting Constance who is super demanding, disrespectful and without empathy. I immediately delivered 11 brand new washing tools/detergents that she requested by taking half a day off, sincerely apologized for not meeting her standard and offered many times to send another professional for a thorough cleaning to meet her standard, which she agreed earlier however broke by cancellation and requesting all money back after she already stayed a few nights. Details with proof whenever/whoever requested: 1. I did arrange a professional to have thoroughly cleaned the whole apartment on the Sunday before Constance checked in. Then my mom cleaned another 2 hours on the weekday she checked in and helped with her luggage, moved around furniture according to her request and registered her Octopus card at management office under my mom's ID for the residence's access to save Constance's privacy. 2. She raised the issue up 9:30pm on her check-in evening, though my mom felt very astonished as she promised that she had made it very clean before she checked in, I still immediately agreed to send a professional to clean it thoroughly again according to Constance's request, and Constance said sending a professional on Sunday is fine (black and white at social media). She further requested 8 different kinds of detergents/washing tool the next day, and aggressively highlighted that they must be brand new, which I all accepted and bought even a few more items. I took the next morning off, took a taxi to buy all the requested materials and delivered to the apartment the next morning, sincerely apologized to her and offered again that I could send a professional for a thorough cleaning. She said she might not need it but would let me know if she needed it. 3. Constance is a mom herself, however she kept throwing bad words to my mom at the group chat of me, my mom and herself. My mom felt very guilty and kept crying/murmuring after she complained, cancelled the booking and requested money. My mom is 65 years old, she still helped move around furniture according to Constance request, and when she helped hand the keys to Constance, her nail split. I was indeed disappointed at this bad experience, especially that I've already offered everything I could and she agreed for my resolution however broke without communication. This experience deeply challenged my trust in Airbnb's idea of "sharing economy". Everyone has his own standard, however is it a good example supported by Airbnb of ignoring host and family's efforts by starring 1.0 which led to the apartment's listing suspension? Super sad.
