Two thatched self catering chalets. The accommodation is modest yet comfortable, it is the setting that is idyllic.
Set right on the Olifants river, the pool, pooldeck, open kitchen and 2 chalets look right onto an island in the river.
Little Carthage is set deep in the bush right on the Olifant's river, in the 1000 ha Ndlovumzi Nature Reserve which has most of the plains game.
There is a large pooldeck exclusively for the chalets that has a braai pit and tables, and open access to the outdoor kitchen. The outdoor kitchen has a full size fridge, a gas oven / stove, microwave, toaster, kettle, and all cutlery and crockery. The 2 chalets are set just slightly back and to the side, while still attached.
The 4 sleeper chalet has a double bed downstairs with an open loft with 2 single beds. A small kitchenette with a small fridge, and a separate bathroom (no bath, only a shower).
The 2 sleeper is small and basic, an open plan room with a double bed and a bathroom (no bath, only a shower) separated only by a half wall.
The chalets are cleaned and made up before guests arrive and linen, bath towels, hand towels and guest soap are provided. The chalets are not serviced during your stay, but arrangements can be made at a small daily fee.
There is a R100 once-off entrance fee per car (per week). It is a 90 minute drive from Little Carthage to The Kruger Park's Orpen gate.
Guests have the entire pool, pooldeck, braai facilities, and open kitchen to themselves.
They also have access to the fenced off garden area, the river and the Reserve.
Within the Reserve there is a communal viewpoint with a picnic table.

I will be available if you need anything. We will be here when you check in, and check on you the next morning to see that everything is okay and whether you need anything. It is up to the quests how much or how little they want us to interact with them.
Другие важные подробности
Access to Ndlovumzi is by an 8 km dirt road that takes approximately 30 minutes. There is a once-off R100 gate fee per car, and Little Carthage is a further 3.5 km's from the gate. 4 x 4 not required.
Being a Nature Reserve, we expect guests who will appreciate nature. Therefore no loud music or raucous parties. Also no littering. Small, well behaved pets may be allowed by prior arrangement, but please remember there may be wild animals like snakes (only rarely).
When I was 19 I was in a car accident that left me wheelchair bound. I had great support from family and friends, and realised life could go on.
I absolutely love nature and animals. I'm quite content to be in the middle of the bush with no other people around, and when people are around I thoroughly enjoy the company. I can be alone without being lonely.
