You'd be hard-pressed to find better AirBnB hosts than Erin and Chris! And by hard-pressed I mean you will not find better hosts than Erin and Chris. They are two amazing, kind, fun, thoughtful, helpful, and caring people who made my summer experience so much better every single day. I've been gone for just over a week and I already miss them, but am looking forward to visiting with them in the future as they're the kind of people you want to keep in your life. Here's an abbreviated list of examples of how awesome they are: they offered me spare Metro cards they had on hand; made sure to give me tips on where to go and what to do as well as little NOVA life hacks; occasionally gave me rides to DC when it was raining so I didn't have to wait for the bus in the rain; took me to all sorts of fun NOVA and Falls Church spots; were always down to hang out and chat in the kitchen/living room; included me in events with family and friends (literally happened my first night there); planned an amazingly fun birthday excursion for me; moved my car when I'd left it somewhere; shared food/wine if I happened to be in the kitchen when Erin was cooking; always checked in to see how I was doing and how my day was going; always listened if I needed to vent; and so, so much more. Erin may well be one of the most "on it" and highly motivated people I've ever met. She's #lifegoals. Who run the world? Erin. Chris is incredibly thoughtful and always willing to lend a hand. For example: he was in the middle of weed-whacking when I arrived, but dropped everything to help me carry all my stuff up the front yard stairs and into the house. A bit about the house: it's a very cozy, comfortable, and comforting 50s modern home that really feels like a home. Tons of natural light, which I love, and Erin and Chris have made many upgrades to the common areas and bathroom. I had more than adequate storage (dresser, closet, and a tall rolling canvas shelf thing for my shoes). They have wonderful wooden floors, which I'm a sucker for. There's a spacious backyard I'd often see a family of deer in, as well as an occasional fox and eagle. They have a great back porch I used for sunning or the occasional outside dinner, as well as a fire pit. The neighborhood has several families but is very, very quiet and safe. It is so beautiful, and great to go for a run or walk in. (Lots of hills, your calves will love/hate you.) I had a car with me and parked in front of their house the entire summer, and had no issues with tickets, safety, or anything tricky. It really is a nice space to come home and decompress in, and folks in the neighborhood are...

My time at Erin's place was amazing! She and her fiancé are awesome people. They were extremely nice to me! They have an amazing back yard, they also have a sweet fire pit and lots of fire wood. The house is great . The kitchen is really nice and well designed. If I could stay here again i would do it in a heartbeat!

Erin and Chris are wonderful hosts and even better people. They were very generous in extending invitations to different activities, from everyday errands to family gatherings, and were incredibly accommodating. The interior of the house has been almost entirely redone, of which the kitchen is like something out of my dreams. The Lake Barcroft community is truly a hidden gem. Although "nature" is to be seen elsewhere in the surrounding suburbs, the display of flora and fauna here is almost unbelievable, considering its proximity to DC.

At first Erin was a little hesitant to have me be a guest; as their house is being completely restored, while they are living in it. Sort of like trying to change your tires as you drive down the road. Once they actually let me IN to see the place. I kinda fell in love. It is being worked on, there are things that sometimes poke out of places or I walked into a doorknob from a suprise door that was leaning in the hallway, but they were very welcoming, giving me plenty of space in their fridge, Chris and I went sledding, Erin made me a waffle! And I even got three of those little shampoo conditioner and mouthwash or lotion bottles. And towels. The house is this very cool retro-being-modernized place and I really liked it, but the hosts Chris and Erin. They are so awesome. I love them. Both of them. Not like that... you perv. But I mean they are both super-smart, in a world of sheep, they are doing their own thing and I wish them all the best. I will miss them. I wish I didn't have to go. Wow. That's a little heavier than I was aiming for... but they are special people. It's just weird being around them though because they are both 11 feet tall and green, and Chris whistles tunelessly to someone or something and Erin will mumble something about a Great Ship that she works for or on. That said, I would highly recommend the place, if you have a sense of humor, an ability to clean up after yourself and don't mind a little sawdust (temporarily) they are lovely lovely people. Two thumbs up.
