I stayed at Padraic's place for 6 weeks whilst I was studying with PYT at SAMTRA in Simons Town. For anyone similar looking for accommodation whilst you stay, I can recommend it as fairly good value compared to other places in the surrounding area. However, the location is very remote, so you will need to factor a car into the cost of your stay. There is a spa at the bottom of the estate where you can get all of your essentials, but it is at least a 20 minute walk up and down a very steep hill. There are no amenities within walking distance, but there are hiking trails on the mountain which are great! It is not a whole place as the listing describes, but Padraic will let you know that when you make contact with him. There is an independent apartment with its own entrance which I can recommend otherwise you will be staying in the house with Padraic and Trish plus three VERY large dogs and everything that goes with that. If you stay in the house the internet will not work in your room. But there is a separate lounge you can use where the internet does work. You won't have a tv but if you get on with Padraic he may invite you to watch the rugby or football with him in their lounge, which is very kind. In the downstairs apartment there is dstv, which is great. But the internet only works in one corner of the of the apartment. Overall a good stay with the only thing letting it down for me was tv and internet provision, which isn't great in South Africa generally.
