Our apartment is next to the Prorel Gondola ski lift giving fast direct access to the linked 250km of skiing. Briancon is a beautiful old town with UNESCO World Herritage status. The flat is close to shops, restaurants and sports equipment hire.
The apartment has been recently extensively refurnished and equipped and has been redecorated in May 2014. It is bright, airy and easy to keep sorted. The apartment can sleep 8 but has only one bathroom and toilet so is probably better suited to between 4 and 6 people. It is an excellent location for skiing being next to the fast Prorel Gondola cabin lift with ski hire, lift pass and ski school all within the same building as the apartment. Most of the ski season it is possible to ski back to the apartment. Serre Chevalier is an excellent ski resort, regularly rated as one of the best in France and is great value for money. In the Summer, Spring and Autumn it is a good base for all manner of Alpine activities - walking, white-water, climbing and mountain biking. The lifts are open for many of the summer months to allow easy access to high alpine paths and downhill mountain bike trails. If you choose to base yourself in Briancon you have all the facilities of a tourist town with UNESCO World Heritage status and you also have direct lift access to the mountains.

The apartment is on the 5th floor with great views - access is via a lift. We have a secure ski locker in the basement for your ski kit (also previous guests have used the locked basement area to store canoes and bikes). The hallway has plenty of hanging space and boot racks to dry wet gear. There are two large undergound car parks (Silo du Prorel and L'Aigle Bleu) within 100 meters of the apartment with 400 spaces and another (Val Chancel) with 250 spaces is 200m from the apartment. The cost for all is 22 Euro's for a weekly ticket. The height restriction on all these car parks is 1.90 meters. There are also several open car parks next to the building and on street parking along Avenue Rene Froger.

Our apartment is looked after by Denise and Michel who are very helpful and will meet you to give you the keys and show you around the apartment and answer any queries you have. In addition to speaking French Denise is English and Michel speaks fluent English.

The flat is furnished for 8 and has one bathroom (with a bath for tired legs & a shower for quicker results) plus a separate toilet. The apartment has a double bedroom, a room with 2 bunk beds and 2 double sofa beds in the living room (a folding screen pulls across to divide it and create 2 further 'bedrooms'). The beds all have new decent quality mattresses with wooden sprung bases so you will get a good nights sleep. There is plenty of hanging and drying space for wet clothes in the entrance hall plus a large cupboard to store your gear.
The kitchen/living/dining area has a folding table which will comfortably seat 8 and the cupboards are well equipped with plenty of decent quality pans, cooking utensils and crockery. There is a new 4 ring electric hob plus a microwave that also grills and is an oven. There is a fridge with a freezer compartment and a dishwasher.
For entertainment we have a 28" flat screen TV with a built in DVD and a separate video recorder and a small selection of DVD's. There is also a selection of card and board games. We have the access codes to 2 local wi-fi signals that are received in the apartment. The lift company now offer free wifi (SCV Public) - you simply register your email and mobile number for access (works throughout the resort near main lifts).
The living room has a balcony with great south facing views of the Alps & Guisane river (with a folding table & chairs) and the windows of the hall and bedrooms have views to the North and West.

Our price includes all the bedding and cleaning. No extra charges that often add considerably to other flats for rent. We also supply cleaning materials, bin bags, dishwasher tablets etc.
Please don't smoke in the apartment - there is a flat balcony and another by the front door that provide a sheltered but open air facility to smoke.
My husband Mick and I have loved skiing for many years and have skied in many different resorts. We fell in love with Serre Chevalier 20 years ago and when we were able to buy an apartment we didn't consider anywhere else.
