This is a very beautiful, charming, spacious, studio style garden apartment (light and spacious basement apartment, half below ground, half above ground). It has an open floor plan (including sleeping area, kitchen, small office space, dining room and living room area), and a walled-off pantry and bathroom. We recently renovated this space and turned it into a super energy efficient unit. You will notice that the walls have thick insulation and the new triple glazed windows help make the space very quiet. You’ll have a constant supply of fresh air with the mechanical ventilation system, which brings room-temperature fresh air into the space. The concrete floor has radiant heat which makes it very comfortable.
We are still rehabbing parts of the building (2nd floor and yard), but that should not impact your stay in the apartment, other than that you will see some tidy piles of construction materials in the back yard.

This airbnb is a 900 sf studio apartment with a private entrance and a separate fire exit for safety. You get to the entrance through our adjacent side yard.
Pets: Dogs and cats are welcome. If you bring your dog, he/she can play in the side yard. Please plan to supervise your pet. With prior arrangement, we can let your dog out in the yard if you are away for an extended period.
Washer and dryer are available for your use, but please let me know if you need to use it so that I can arrange access to the laundry room.
Odds and ends: We live on the first floor, so if you need something (Hot sauce? Spices? Paper?) just let us know.

Unlike many other neighborhoods in Chicago, street parking on our block is plentiful and free for those who arrive by car. You will typically find a parking spot right in front of our building.

Please leave the apartment in the conditions you found it, be reasonably quiet and tidy. Please clean up right away after using the kitchen to keep unwanted creatures out. If and when you use the kitchen, please be diligent about using the range hood to exhaust cooking odors. It is no fun for the next guest to get a detailed impression of your preferred menu. After you used the shower, please squeegee the shower walls and floor to remove the bulk water. When you leave for the day, make sure to turn off the lights and ceiling fans. And please read through and comply with the instruction of the Apartment Manual, which you find on the kitchen counter. Absolutely no smoking! Last but not least: Enjoy your stay with us.
