Our home is on Torbay Bight on the North Atlantic. In winter, storms howl and the pounding surf shakes the house. With billion-year-old rocks exposed we are living in the midst of raw nature, only minutes from the city. The studio is on the sea cliff
Our house is three bedrooms and a bath and a half. It is large for Newfoundland standards but still small. At one time ten kids were raised here. For the six months we are in Torbay, the studio is a working art studio where Carol produces her abstract paintings.
Guests will have total access to the house and studio for the time they are here. There is a large back yard with lawn and garden. There is a bench overlooking the ocean on the studio's lawn.
Общение с гостями
While you will be staying in Newfoundland, we will be at our other home in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Другие важные подробности
You will be staying here in the winter, but not the Arctic winter you might envision. Temperatures here are warmer than Boston. There is snow, sometimes a lot of snow, but the town faithfully plows the road to keep it clear. Ocean storms are part of life in this part of Newfoundland, so if you don't like weather, best to go somewhere else. There is a woodstove to augment the electric heat.
Treat our home as if were your own, except if you smoke, do so outside.
Use care with fires in the wood stove.
