DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. Filthy, cramped, and falling to pieces - I couldn't believe that there would be an apartment in such terrible conditions in Singapore, let alone being put up for people to stay in! We touched down at Changi at about 8PM, making our check-in time about 9PM. We tried to get to the apartment by Uber, but the address was wrong, so we had to take a taxi. Even with the taxi, we could only give the driver a very vague location. It was only because I had a Singaporean number that I could use to call her to ask for the exact location, that we managed to find the apartment. When we met her, she was pretty nice, like what the reviews said. She even offered us a travel adaptor. However, the room was extremely small, with barely any walking space between the door and the bed. The lock also didn't work very well (even Helen had to try a few times before she could get the door to lock properly). The floor was extremely dusty, and the toilet was filthy - probably because everyone wore their shoes around the house. We had to shower while wearing slippers. The toilet was shared with other guests, which meant that everyone was fighting to get a shower before they went to bed. There was a cupboard with hangers provided, and a tiny table. We had to wipe everything before using it. We saw cockroaches at least twice in the room - given how small the room was, they were at very close range. The air-con was fine, although it took about 2 hours to really kick in. The people living in the apartment cooked their meals in the kitchen and didn't wash up after themselves for the 10 days that we were there - the smell in the kitchen was terrible. On the second day, the access card needed for the elevator that Helen gave us didn't work. We had to wait for someone else to use it before we could get in. When we tried to open the front door, the lock wouldn't work. Maybe we used too much force, or maybe the door (which literally had a hole surrounding the doorknob) was just too weak - I don't know, but the key broke, and we had to call Helen to help us get into the house. She came really quickly, and we had a small confrontation regarding the key. She first told us that she wouldn't give our $50 key deposit back, but later said she would if we duplicated the spare key she gave us. We did, and got our money back. Aside from the great location (close to the MRT), I would honestly NOT RECOMMEND this apartment to ANYONE. If you're looking for a cheap stay in Singapore, there're definitely decent hotels in the same area that are much cleaner and with better service.
Helen is a nice women, she prepared well before we arrived. The staying place is nice and quiet, although the other lodger has not well behavior, but if we had any need, Helen always gave us help. By the way, some suggestions give you: Helen didn't offered toilet paper, bathing gel, shampoo, so if you choose Helen's place, you have to prepare these.
The room is not like the photos. I don't know about other rooms but mine definitely was not what I was expecting. The address is wrong. I took an Uber and I could not insert the address because is not right. My luck was the driver because she knew the area and drop me there but without any sure of the exact address. I asked this to a guy passing on the street and he told me that the address is not right because he lives in the same building. He called Helen to say that I was waiting for her. When she came she insisted that the address is right. When we get at home my room's door had no lock. Helen told me that someone will come to fix it. It was not good because it was late and I was tired and I could not use the room immediately. No clean bathroom. Good location. But it's expensive if you just need to spend one night in Singapure. With the room, the transports and dinner, it was better to book a hotel room near airport with better conditions.
