Spa / Hot Tub: Details?
We craned in the largest spa we could find, and built the lodge around it. Really!
Located in a cedar-lined room with mountain views, the spa is easily accessed through the game room.
The spa features three, 5-HP pumps and 101 jets. Due to water displacement, we recommend a maximum of 3-4 people in the spa at any given time.
Maintenance: The spa will be professionally checked and balanced prior your arrival. Guests are expected to take proper care of the spa during their visit. Basic spa maintenance is included for free, however draining and refilling the spa - if required - is not. If the spa requires a drain/refill due to improper use, a reasonable charge will apply for this extra service.
Stairs: Are there stairs?
As with most homes - especially of this size - stairs are a necessity. There is one set between the main living area and the bedroom level. The wide stairs are carpeted.
Infrastructure / Utilities: How is the home equipped with heat, water, etc.?
Construction: The Lodge is solidly built for the extreme conditions in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Construction consists mostly of insulated concrete forms (14" thick walls of concrete, steel and R-40 insulation), some 2X6 framing, and 100 lb. roof loads throughout. The Lodge was purposefully designed to be "Green" so that we may enjoy the beauty of the mountains for many generations with minimal impact to the environment. We sincerely hope that our guests share these values.
Electric and Gas: Standard services from X-cel Energy
Water: 415 ft. deep well, flowing from a generous, high-volume aquifer. Water softener and purification system.
Hot Water: High-efficiency, 75 gallon rapid-replenish system. Plenty of hot water!
Heating: High-efficiency, Radiant heating in the floors of the 3 bedroom, game room and spa (excellent!). High-efficiency Natural Gas furnace used throughout the rest of the Lodge.
Septic: Large system that produces "clean" gray water (not black water), with an underground irrigation system used to nourish the native trees. This sophisticated system is remotely monitored to ensure proper operation, and provides minimal impact on the land. This allowed us to retain trees that would otherwise have been removed had we installed a cheaper, less environmentally-friendly system.
The Lodge was purposefully designed to be "Green" so that we may enjoy the beauty of the mountains for many generations with minimal impact to the environment. We sincerely hope that our guests share these values.
Parties: Is the lodge appropriate for Stag, Hen or College parties?
No. The Lodge is not appropriate for these types of gatherings.
Age requirements: What is the minimum age requirement for reservations?
Quiet time after 10pm

Here are our most recent reviews:
Great Value for a large group:
We had a group of eight men up for a ski trip. This is a great place to stay with a large group, as it's actually larger than we expected. The common area was great - played pool and ping pong. We also really appreciated having garage parking as it was really cold (lows below zero). Kevin is easy to contact and is very responsive. The place is well equipped. We had a great time. I highly recommend this place to others.

Holiday Family Gathering:
Great space and lots of room! We had a large family gathering (three generations) all under one roof for a week-- with the hot tub, game room, and spacious common areas everyone was able to relax comfortably. The property is close to several local restaurants and the grocery store. Kevin was very easy to work with and was accommodating to our needs. The unit was clean and well kept. Lots of dishes and silverware for the large group.

Not bad, eh? These are just the 3 most recent reviews. All of the other 60+ reviews over the past 10 years are very similar. We love helping our guests have a great visit!
Our large lodge has two fully equipped, separate units: a large 3 bedroom - and this one - the even-larger 4 bedroom with private game room and spa! This 4 bedroom can comfortably accommodate up to 9 adults and 3 children.
Need more space? Larger groups can reserve both the 3 and 4 bedroom lodges together! Read on!
If you reserve both our 3 and a 4 bedroom units, you will have a total of 5 King bedrooms, and 2 large bunk rooms, each with 2 Full and 2 Twin beds. That's 13 beds so far. With the 4 Queen sleeper sofas we can handle up to about 20 guests comfortably. The lodge is fully equipped with everything you will need during your visit.
You will also have two of everything (two kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, laundry rooms, 4.5 baths, etc.). Also, the amazing game room and spa is between both units and has an 8' slate pool table, ping pong, and a huge spa. Everything is in one building, all guests can easily get together, or spread out through the lodge (it's about 6000 sq. ft.). There are three indoor garage spaces and plenty of additional parking if needed. Excellent WiFi, and 6 Televisions with many premium channels.
Please send us a note and tell us about your gathering. We are happy to assist you in planning an amazing visit to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado!
