You’ll fall in love with Tom’s Stand, a luxurious log house on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Enjoy magnificent views from the front porch, or from the top of nearby Hemphill Bald. Go horseback riding at the adjacent Cataloochee Ranch. And at day's end, have a drink in the living room, with its cathedral ceiling and arched glass wall. In other rooms, you'll find cherry countertops, hand-hewn beams, whimsical touches and a wall of windows facing the morning sun.
This unique log home is situated at the foot of majestic Hemphill Bald, just a quarter mile from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The top of Hemphill Bald provides magnificent 50-mile views of the mountains.
Open the heavy oak door of the main house and enter the warm kitchen, with a whimsical mural depicting outdoor life at Tom's Stand. Feel the dramatic contrast as you walk from the stone fireplace in the dining room, up the steps to the grand expanse of the living room. Sleep under the high beams of the spacious master bedroom or in one of the four additional bedrooms tucked into cozy corners, including the guest cottage across the lawn - a restored 19th century log cabin.
Guests can also enjoy horseback riding and discounted meals at the adjacent Cataloochee Ranch.
This is the home of the author of The View from Tom’s Stand. With its gardens, spacious lawn and mountain views, Tom's Stand is an idyllic spot for weddings and retreats.
Guests will have access to both the main house and the guest cabin.
