The cottage is like being in the country in the city. It is a private, self-contained unit, featuring a well-stocked kitchenette, tiled shower, bedroom loft (queen size bed) with french doors opening onto a deck surrounded by trees, flat screen TV, DVD player, wifi, wireless speaker to connect to your bluetooth, and off street parking. Noise may be an issue for some, especially in the summer, due to airplanes.
A large fig tree separates the cottage from the rest of the yard, so privacy is a big selling point. The space was remodeled in 1997 with a lot of recycled materials, something we value a lot. And because of that the style is comfortable and a bit funky. We cannot allow small children due to safety concerns with the steep loft stairs.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the yard. Washer/dryer is available in the house basement. Off street parking is available.

We live in the "big" house on the property and would be happy to provide information, suggestions for sightseeing, restaurants, and so forth. We love to share stories over appetizers and beverages.
We are unable to accept small children due to safety issues with the loft and steep stairs. We are wine and weed friendly. We expect our guests to be respectful and careful of the space, and to enjoy their stay. We would prefer guests to remove their shoes at the door. The kitchen is fully stocked and has a gas stove, but the oven is not connected. A microwave and toaster oven are provided.
We enjoy sharing our space in the city. Life-long Northwesterners, we enjoy many of the outdoor activities offered in this part of the world, skiing, hiking, camping, kayaking, sailing. Andy is a retired plumbing contractor, more recently working as a sailing instructor. Betty is a nurse at Swedish Cancer Institute. We have two children and three grandchildren who all live in the area, and a handsome friendly tabby cat named Buchi.
