My wife, our 8 year old daughter and I stayed at Nana’s place for two weeks (July 9-22, 2017). This was our first Air BnB booking and we are glad to say that we enjoyed the whole experience. We were quite lucky to see that Nana’s place was available on the dates that we needed, and we made a reservation several months way in advance. Reserving Nana’s place was a breeze and she quickly answered some questions that we had. I made a mistake of booking her place one extra day earlier before our actual arrival. As I told this to Nana, she corrected my error and refunded the extra day. As our travel date came near I sent several messages to Nana and she answered every one of them. Upon our arrival, I called Nana to let her know that we would be arriving. Although Nana wasn’t available, she told us that Jakob (her boyfriend) would be at the apartment to let us in. Upon “check-in”, Jakob gave us a warm welcome and showed us into their apartment. It came as described, with 2 rooms (one had a double bed, and the other had a sofa bed) and a bathroom. There was a dining area and a kitchen that had a refrigerator, oven, and stove. After showing us the place, we felt quite at home and the place was nice and cozy. There was a small courtyard, which was a common area all tenants were welcomed to use. At one of the corners of the courtyard there was a small fenced off area with a small house that provided shelter to a black floppy eared rabbit named Bjorn (which we later found out to mean bear in Danish). After learning this, our daughter almost always said bye-bye to Bjorn every time we left the apartment. Location was excellent. There was a convenience store around the corner. A brief 3-5 minute walk from the apartment will bring you to the famous Stroget St. - at approx. 1,111 meters long, it is Europe’s longest pedestrian street, a great place for shopping, dining, or just strolling along. Also 3-5 minutes away is Kompagnistraede – Laederstrade St. where you can find good café’s and restaurants. Nearby notable landmarks include the National Museum, Glyptotek, City Hall Square & Tivoli. You are never too far from a bus or subway station. One thing to take note. Although Nana did mention that their apartment was on the first floor, we didn’t realize that all “first floors” in Denmark are above the ground floor. So what I initially thought was the first floor (or ground floor, as I understood it) was actually one flight of stairs up from the ground floor. This however was no big issue for us at all. Just something to consider since some countries have different definitions between what actually is the ground floor and first floor of the building. We finally got to meet Nana and Jakob on our last day while...

We really loved our stay at Nana and Jakob's flat. The location couldn't have been more convenient and it was a unique pleasure to stay in an "old Copenhagen" apartment with airy tall ceilings, wooden floors, and charming quirkiness. There's a large-ish hostle right next door that has a bar that opens to the street, and we were very pleasantly surprised that, because the apartment is in the rear wing of the building, we couldn't hear it at all (although we could occasionally hear the excited screams of riders and some fireworks coming from the Tivoli Gardens). To those planning their first visit to Copenhagen, some tips to bear in mind: - The apartment is furnished in a calming, minimalist, typical Danish style, so if your tastes run to excesses of bricabrac, you might find it a bit spare. For my tastes, it was perfect. - Don't be alarmed by the graffiti on the street-facing passageway door to the courtyard: graffiti is EVERYwhere in Copenhagen and isn't an indication of whether a neighborhood is safe or not. Once you pass through that door, you enter into a charming, quiet courtyard.

Nana's place was in the PERFECT location, you will never be bored or need to search for something to do! Nana was very kind in helping us pick the best options. We even felt comfortable enough to go grocery shopping down the street and cook dinner in the flat two nights, and breakfasts every day. Nana's is THE place to stay in Copenhagen. Thank you!
